Today I will be flying out to the millionaire makers Final in Atlantic City Harrah's... Due to the storms the airport of Philly is closed... I don't blame Harrah's for that... However as of 5 Pacific Coast time Harrah's has yet to send me an email telling me the event has been cancelled or postponed... I had to get that information from canceling my hotel reservation and canceling my Airline reservation as I was flying out from Los Angeles to Philadelphia. I realize that the situation is fluid but still a simple in email stating that the event is cancelled would have been helpful

I got the email... Right after my flight took off

Upon landing, immediately called the travel line and booked a flight back tonight... Damned if I'm spending all week in this shithole for no reason.

How far did you get? The funny thing is that I've received five emails regarding the event in the last week...not one saying it is cancelled.

they care about your cash....not about you. They want your wallet in their facility. Especially since AC will be a ghost town due to weather.

You guys are right that this is a FAIL, and very typical. However, given that both of you knew this was possible, why didn't you just call Harrah's and ask if it was still on?

Dan, I did call...got transferred to India...need I say more.

You got transferred to India? LOL

You needed to call back and demand to speak to a Total Rewards or casino supervisor on property. Sometimes it's "work" to get the right person on the phone at a CET property, but I find at times it's absolutely essential to do.

Anyway, I'm not trying to blame any of you. Harrah's definitely screwed up. But it's the fact that they screw up so often that I frequently call up to "check their work" with a lot of things like this.

The Millionaire Maker tournament had been rescheduled, and now there's a 200,000 Reward Credit option. If a large number of people (e.g. half who won't bother to fly to AC) take the RCs and forfeit their tournament entry, each player's equity could be $4,000 or even higher (based on a $1,062,500 prize pool).

TW, I had time to listen to the PFA podcast this afternoon.

A couple notes: the Finale is a slot tournament with approx. 518 entrants. Most are actually NOT Diamond or Seven Stars players, but won their way through free local CET slot tournaments or the 'play by TR' app.

Harrah's AC Special Events went ahead and still held the dinner and casino play drawing for about 200 entrants (and families) who made it that night. The casino play drawing prize pool was doubled to $20,000 (30 names were drawn). I was lucky enough to win $500 in Reel Rewards.

They also reimbursed in cash anyone who went over the $1,100 limit and had paid the overage out-of-pocket. One couple I overheard got a $100 reimbursement for their Southwest Airlines flight.
