    Or Ground hog day.

On a lighter note, here's your AP play of the day.... it's free Slurpee day at 7-11 until 7pm. I've hit up 5 stores so far today

Yes Alan. And as he went to sweep the dice I grabbed his stick so that he couldn't complete the sweep. The die then landed and the result was 10, not 7-out. The box man, pit boss, etc would not change the call. I demanded that they get someone from the gaming board to come. The game was held up for at least a half hour and probably more. I did everything I could do to get the other players fired up about it. I took names and phone numbers for my formal complaint with the state gaming commission. I think I have related this story somewhere else in this forum.

Ultimately, I kept calling gaming and getting a run around. Finally a nice young lady told me that the dice flipped because a guy on that end of the table pounded the cushion. I explained to her that it happens on every roll and doesn't effect the dice. Also, where is the rule that if he pounds the table they can call 7-out. She ruled against me.

I explained to her that I wasn't going away and asked what my appeal rights and procedures were. I also explained to her that I was not a novice and had been playing craps for most of my adult life. It was then that I sent her my subpoena for the tapes. I think she decided finally that it was easier to just get rid of me. She sent a letter to me a few days later directing me to advise her what the total amount I had on the table was. I of course inflated that number. She then directed the casino to pay me.

I asked her about the other players whose names I had taken. She said they would have to pursue it on their own. I could have claimed I was representing them but I just let it go.

Funny that you mention the pounding. There's a dealer at Red Rock who is always hitting or bumping the table... on just about every throw.

And once a dealer swept away all the bets on the horn while the dice were IN THE AIR. Fortunately a non horn number hit.

Maybe Ariana played the $100 machines all night on your card producing stellar offers for you.

  6. #26
I would like to meet this Ariana, sounds like a hottie!
Take off that stupid mask you big baby.

Thanks for the tip about 7-11. I grabbed the final free slurpee of the day at 7:02. They were out of all flavors by that point except two, but fortunately my favorite (cherry) was still there.

BTW from what they told me, Ariana hadn't played any on my card or her card.

There was zero play on my card (presumably she didn't get my card, btw), and the only play on her card was what I earned.

Oh, and to answer someone's question, the person playing next to me was also a white male around my age. He played the same limits of the same game for about the same amount of coin-in. And he also had a new card.

So if our offers are different, I'll know I got screwed.

I agree that there's a good chance I'll still get worse offers than him, but we'll see.

Smart man; lying about who you represent will get you disbarred.
    What, Me Worry?

Don't give me credit for being smart. That may be a stretch. It was more a realization that between them they didn't have $100 in the game.

In this world sometimes computers run the business rather than people running the computers.

In the customer service complaint world people constantly hear the phrase " the computer says......"

This happens in retail, and alot of places where people love to take the easy way out and blame it on the computer, or policy. As long as policy isnt constrained by law....there is usually a way to make a reasonable customer happy.

Sometimes thereis an unreasonable customer who wants more than they deserve.....but dan only wanted what he deserved...he wasnt looking for anything above and beyond for "pain and suffering". Anyone could see that.

As a manager most of my life, I have been very creative to work around a customer that obviously got fucked. Meaning sometimes even giving something away for free...even if it overly enriched the customer.

Dan is obviously an idiot when it comes to players cards or he is just too lazy to actually open his eyes. He was given 3 cards which is a little excessive to begin with drawing some red flags towards the players. Three Cards isn't that big of a deal but it was an obvious, honest mistake that the worker bee gave him the wrong card on the the third one which was only one player card number away from his own. Dan obviously is running bad picking the 33% chance to actually play on that card but to not notice the difference on the card and not to notice the difference on the machines when your name pops up when you start playing is simply a player malfunction and the Casino is not responsible for that. Just like they are not actually responsible for lost or credits or tickets left in machines... they have disclaimers all over every Casino in Vegas telling players this. Not only that but if you get a players club flyer that they have at the players club desk they have about 25 rules and regulations of being a member and it is the players responsibility to check cards and everything related Casino. They owe him nothing.

Good point about the "welcome Todd" that at most casinos would show when you insert your card. Is there a player card system that would not say "Welcome Joe" and honestly don't we all wait to see it to know our card is properly inserted?

  16. #36
Most do, but not all of them show your name when you insert your card. I don't know about Golden Gate though.

Can you name a casino that does NOT show your name?

  18. #38
It might have said "Welcome <name>". I'm not sure.

I was with a friend there and talking to him and had no reason to scrutinize the screen. They gave me players cards that were supposed to be mine, and I had no reason to suspect otherwise.

Obviously after this mess I will check this in the future, but to blame any of this on me is absurd.

Could I have been a bit more cautious?

    I guess.

But this is the casino's screw up and their responsibility to fix.

Also lol @ monet thinking that some bored boothling is going to care whether I have 3 cards printed.

The casino doesn't legally owe me anything, but they'd be stupid not to make this right for a new player when this mistake occurs. Anything short of that is bad business.

Yes, we can all get into bad habits that could include not checking that our cards are properly inserted.

How many of us fail to walk around our cars and look at our tires once a day?

How many of us fail to change our smoke detectors every time there's a time change but do it when the chirping starts?

Dan should not have been handed a wrong card but I'm not sure that makes the casino responsible. Caesars never fixed what happened to me when my card number was recorded at a roulette wheel when I wasn't even in Vegas and my offers were slashed for a year as a result.

Alan, there's a difference between legally responsible, morally responsible, and "keeping desirable customers" responsible.

They aren't legally responsible for what happened.

They are morally responsible, since the mistake was theirs.

And for a player who showed them high level cards at other properties like me, the smart decision is to make it right for him.

BTW, I usually do check that my players card shows the right name, but this time I just forgot to because I was talking to my friend while playing.

That was a small oversight on my part, but the fault in this entire situation was theirs.

Now, had I just accidentally grabbed a card next to the machine instead of my own, that would make more sense regarding them blaming me. In this case, THEY handed me the wrong card, which makes it entirely their fault, even if I failed to double-check their work.
