The term was coined by video poker writer, the late Lenny Frome. Lenny is the one that discovered that a certain paytable in deuces wild, what we call Full Pay Deuces Wild, 100.76%, was a positive game. If Rob knows the term that means he read Lenny Frome.

Not a special play as Rob would define it. But it's where I deviate from conventional strategy.

If I have four to a flush with three royal cards I'm going for the royal. If I have a high pair (exception is aces) and three to the royal I'm going for the royal.

When I play, I play for royals and not for pairs and not for flushes. If you don't like it, tough noogies.

In the late nineties the Fiesta had a few quarter machines with FPDW, 100.76%, with a reversible worth $10,000. The Carson Nugget had 17/10 Loose Deuces, 101.6% with a $10,000 reversible.

I have been dealt a royal 3 times in my life. I’ve also made royals by drawing 4,3,2,&1 cards. Still waiting to get one on the draw after a dump. I don’t ever remember getting a sequential or reverse sequential. If I did it was before cell phones.

I've made the royals all the ways you have and the last one to come, took 10 years, was the royal on the five card redraw. But it was on Spin Poker so that was a little help. I've had a few sequentials but not in the right places.

I've got one redraw royal. It came on 10 play STP. I have 3 sequential royals. Last royal I got came holding KJ of diamonds a few weeks ago.

I've seen multiple players get royals dealt on a five card redraw. It's not something you see every day but it probably happens every day in some casino somewhere.

I had one (non sequential) last year. I thought I was having a bad day as the bonus poker machines that paid 2:1 on two pair were filled and I was having to play JOB. I had played almost 100 credits and was sick and tired of it all and prepared myself to leave- didn't even wanna play ddbp. To make matters worse, up comes several razgus and I kinda slapped the draw button for the trash I was getting. On,the third razgu, the dealt hand acts kinda funny and out rolls the royal. Really eerie to watch. Only time I remember.

I have had more redraw Royals than I have had dealt ones.

It is eerie how similar you and robzinger are in the ways that you communicate.

And you should. Five cards have been eliminated on the redraw. Just for conversation purposes some photos of dealt royals including the two my girlfriend got at bars in Vegas (playing only two coins on one of them).

    Alan,

And you should not....you have a "chance" at a dealt royal, every time on the draw, but how many times do you throw out five cards in a session (or anytime) with the draw?

I believe you get a throw away hand about 1 in 30 or so depending on the game type. Re-draw royals are most definitely rarer.

That was a nice progressive $31000 hit.
