When I asked them why I only received cash for the jackpot and not also for my ~$40 in credits already on the machine, they said they they would only pay the jackpot for the ducks. I asked to see the person's boss (floor supervisor I would assume) and they acquiesced. Basically they tried to cheat me. That casino is no longer in business BTW.
My understanding is that if you hit a jackpot that requires a handpay, and you still have credits in the machine above the amount of the jackpot, then you get the jackpot amount in cash, and the leftover credits remain in the machine for you to keep playing or cash out normally via TITO.
