Thread: Midwest Player

What all these barrings have done is let me know about some other bj forums I would have never known about. I had never heard of zen zone or Vegas talk before. There’s some interesting stuff over there, but some of it is really out there.

I do miss Moses, Mose’s friend Tater, and the third person who sometimes used Tater’s handle. They have a unique sense of humor that makes these sites fun. I wish Moses and his friends could hold off on the threats so they could come back on these forums. I also really liked all Mose’s video posts on sports stuff. I don’t think Tater was as much into sports stuff.

Moses replies: Thanks BJ032. But you'll have to be more specific regarding the threats. I read the thread in question. Tater merely used KJ's words back against him without the STFU and Fucking idiot terms. I do not see that Tater threatened him in the least.

Now I put the wood to KJ good on this site and another. KJ said he was copying those posts and turning them over to the moderator. Another pussified move. KJ has not uttered a peep since.

There is a group that reads the forum. So, of course they are going to sound alike. But KJ should be more worried about the lurkers who have said nothing than his perception of Tater saying something.

BTW Midwest Player. If it were my kids in harms way like the ones I mentioned in the OP. Then I would hope Monet, LarryS, MickeyCrimm, Mr V. Coach Bella, or Rob Singer are nearby. Say what you want, but I'll bet those guys wouldn't watch or walk away from someone in harms way that couldn't defend themelves or was at a disadvantage.

Probably not, as I understand humans are essentially hard-wired to intercede in such a situation; like the guy who saw a little boy fall into a river and then immediately jumped in to rescue the kid.

The guy drowned, the kid survived.

    Instinct.
    What, Me Worry?

Well, it helps if u knpw how to swim. The guy doing the horizontal booze waltz? Not much hope when he starts flopping like a fish.

Midwest Player. Colorado is my old stomping grounds. No, touring in the winter months in a car is probably not the best idea. But, if you're bound and determined to go without renting a car to save money? Consider renting a car and staying in nearby Idaho Springs to save money on motel rooms. I would think the rates would be cheap in the winter. My mom ran the 6 & 40 Motel back in the day and we'd have days with no guests in the winter. Kings Derby is a nice place to eat with that small town atmosphere. I played ball with the owner who probably inherited or bought it from his folks. He also built a motel adjacent to the restaurant. One of the best pure shooter's I'd ever seen.

Beau Jeau's pizza was our hangout on main street. I believe it is still on main and now he has a string of places throughout Colorado. IMO the best pizza you'll ever eat.

Simply stay on i70. But going through Denver during rush hour will be difficult. There is (or used to be) the old 6/40 hwy that connected to Central City long before it was called Blackhawk. If you want to see Pikes Peak without driving, there is a train that goes to the top and back down out of Colorado Springs. Some friends of mine went on the tour recently and said it wasn't very expensive.

If you happen to make it to Hudson and eat at the Pepper Pod, don't believe those stories about the Buffalo heads on the wall. Pretty sure the old owner had them grazing out back and they became menu items. Ask for Bill and tell him Moses said to take good care of you. He married a girl from my class and we worked at the gas station which is now a liquor store. Tell him you need some old tractor tires that need fixing. He'll know what you mean. lol

Midwest Player: Just a suggestion. Stop making every new thread sound like your taking a poll or asking a question. Clearly, you like to instigate and your questions make you sound like a dumbass. For instance, this thread about Colorado, you could have said here is what I'm doing. The costs of rooms in Blackhawk seem very high and renting a car is more expensive than normal. Has anyone who has made this trip found a better way to reduce expenses? Then, list your train idea.

Thus you avoid ridicule from 21forme, the overbearing NYC smart ass who probably has never even been to Colorado. Hell, everyone knows Colorado is cold and treacherous driving conditions in the winter. That's why skiers like it.

Nothing wrong with $100 max. Just have to realize you are playing low limits and wins will be smaller, but also losses. The last time I played Deadwood max bet was $5. Should be able to hit the $10,000 mark in a year if you can get 300 hours of playing time.

Because I have done it. In fact, I've done it in under 200 hours, and have done it two years in a row. I said many times I'm basically a red chip player and most of my bets are under $100. However, to be fair on a few occasions I've bet more than $100. Biggest bet in my life was two hands at $200 each.

Big difference between doing it and done it. No? Assuming you get 100 hands per hour and 200 hours, you've made $.50 a hand or $50 an hour for two straight years with a Level 1 count in a pitch game. Not heads up?

There is a lot of unsaid territory. Number of players at the table. Average hands per hour. Bet spread $5 to $100 in Double Deck? Not likely. I once went $5 to $75 in your town of Wendover in the mid 80s and got my ass kicked...literally and figuratively. If your spread is 8 to 1 you've got to be getting at least 6% max bet opportunities per hour. Not easy without getting heat. A Level One win/loss ratio is 51%-49% in pitch at an insurance TC. Are you side counting for insurance. If not, it drops even more. Still, $10 to $80 spread wouldn't fly in my neighborhood, $5 to $40 might. But that isn't going to get you to $10k in 200 hours with expenses. Not to mention the dreaded downturns with a Level 1 and multiple players at the table.

300 hours of DD blackjack in Deadwood sounds like a stretch. I assume it's smaller than Wendover? I'd be surprised if 100 hands an hour is doable, but if so that's 30K hands. But $.33 a hand is more in line than Zee's $80 an hour claim while he walks away from strong positive counts in order to preserve his quota.

Never said it was a Level 1 count. Maybe half of the time heads up. Some of the time at full table.

Depends on the tolerance of the place. I've done it many times. In fact, I already spread $5 to $200 on DD.

I have no idea what the tolerance is like in Deadwood. I've only been there once in my life. However, I just checked CBJN and pen on some DD games is .8 which is better than the one deck cut off that I usually find. Another big unknown is whether you can spread to two hands mid shoe.

Who were in the pit? Gomer and Aunt Bee?

$200? You rent 5 cars on just one bet and have unlimited miles.
