Thread: Progressive Road Map

  1. #1
    Trolling gets boring after awhile.

Here is a thread where you can list current Progressives in your area.

Please list the Progressive, Location and Entry Point to play at to get the advantage.
If you like you can post the current number on the meter.

    ----------------------------

    1.The D

They still have the bar upstairs where you can play 8/5 bonus all day long. You will earn points that get you cash back and comp. You will generate mail. I find that local ID is better than out of state. Check the Double Double for the 4 of a kind Progressive as you play the 8/5. You want to switch when the 5s - Ks are over 90 dollars. You will also have entry points on the babies over 200 dollars. They have meters on the Straight Flush and Royal as well. It isn't unusual to find the Royal at 1250 or better.

They also have another 8/5 Bonus Poker Progressive Bank besides the Keno/Sports Book that gets playable at times. I have seen it from 1500 to 2000 depending.

They run 5x point days from time to time.

    2.The 4 Queens

The Bar Progressives are worth a look. You can even play at the Chicago Brewery to get the better quality beers if you like during business hours.

The 15/9 Deuce Progressive is the usual and your entry point is around 1500.
They also have other progressives on those machines worth a look at times. You want to check the halfs and dollars as well because at times they will get to a playable number. This bank is good because you get the full points and the comp/cash back is worth it along with the mailers.

    3.The Cal

They have a 50 cent bank that has 8/5 Bonus Poker on it and it gets over 3000 enough to check on it from time to time. It is located near the pit close to the Sports Book. They also have a 7/5 Bonus Poker Bank that gets over on a rare occasion near the dice pit. As far as I know they still have the one Double Bonus Poker machine giving full points and you can play quarters, halves or dollars. Point days always make things better. You could play the 5 dollar bank near the cage with the right conditions but for the most part it isn't worth it.

    4.Sams Town

You can play the 9/7 Double Bonus near the Dunkin' Donut shop at all times. It starts at 1500 making it 100%. Wait for the meter to grow if you like or point days. They have the same game at one of the Bars but the meter starts at 1000 so you need to wait for better conditions. They still have the 9/6 Double Double near the Slot Club and it is a 4 or 5 way progressive so you can check the meters and act accordingly. They have two different dollar Bonus Poker Banks that have progressives and you can play them when the conditions are right again. Depending on what you are doing it can be worth it. Check the high limit area as the 5 dollar bank can be worth it as well on the bonus poker.

    ------------------------------

I realized I was writing all this out instead of just listing the banks so to recap...

    1.The D

Upstairs Bar Progressives --- Switch from Bonus Poker to Double Double depending on meters.
You do not need anything on this meter since it has multiple progressives on the game.

Upstairs Progressive near the Sports Book --- Bonus Poker with an entry point of 1500.

    2.The 4 Queens

Bar Progressives --- All Bars --- Deuces Wild "Ugly Version" --- Starting point 1500
Check the other games since at times they have playable versions of other games and denominations.
    Full Card on these games

    3.The Cal

50 Cent Bonus Poker Bank near the Pit close to the Sports Book
Entry Point 3000 but can be adjusted on specific days or promotions.

    4.Sams Town

9/7 DB Bank near Dunkin' Donuts --- always playable starting at 1500
9/7 DB Bank Winchester Bar --- Check Progressive --- Entry Point 1500
Upstairs Bar has a progressive as well but you need to check on that as I forget exactly what the game is.
9/6 Double Double near the Slot Club --- Multiple Progressives on this game and need to check to see if playable.
$1 Bonus Poker Bank near Dice Pit --- very unusual but at times I have seen it over 6000 which is the Entry Point.
$1 Bonus Poker near the Deli which can be playable on specific days and what the meters are at on the Quads/Royal.
$5 Dollar Bonus Poker in High Limit --- Not usual but can be played when the meter is up and you have a point day.

Monet has given up a lot of information here. Alan, you need to run off a copy of this and hang it on your refrigerator. Since you live in Vegas now and are playing low denom this is the stuff you should be playing. In the long run you will make a little money and also get the comps.

Hobey's in Sun Valley (North Reno). $1 NRF progressive meter - four progressive linked machines arranged in a 2x2 square. Saturdays and Sundays alternate 5x points by month. I've seen the NRF progressive get as high as $10K (5 coin payoff) before finally getting picked off. Very little VP team interest (until this post at least). BP,DDB,DW,JOB, and DB are on these IIRC. I'm no longer in the area so blast away.

This place still has 50 cent Full Pay Deuces. Slow but worth about 7 dollars an hour and you can play two machines.

Bar Progressive gets high enough to check in on it. Last I checked the best was the 9/6 Jacks so you want 1250 to start
They have other promotions and you can call in at the bar to check on the progressive number if you like.
If you play regular you can ask for a comp to the coffee shop. Not everyone likes that food but I like the price.

$1 Jacks or Better Progressive near the Sports Book that gets up to 5000 or over which is all you need. I have hit it at 7500+ before.
A few other progressives worth a look at the bar and mixed in. The place is small so you shouldn't have a problem locating machines.

    6. Eureka on Sahara

They have quarter and halves with a progressive that gets playable twice a month or so.
They also have a dollar progressive but rarely is playable.
Food isn't too bad here at Fat Choy.
Micro Brews as well if that is your thing.

Some players don't want to be bothered at the Bar with Bartenders so you can play next to the Cage. They have about 10-12 machines over there that are connected.

Your best game is 16/10 deuces or you can play the 9/6 BnsPkr Dlx.

Thanks for the Information. I have been thinking of another 2 week vacation somewhere and since the mountains of California are on fire I might either head back to the beach or up to Reno.

It has been a long time since I was up in Reno. I was up there for a couple months basically living in a suite at the Peppermill. I enjoyed it because the room had a whirlpool and a steam room inside of the bathroom. I would just check out and check back in under my pals name. I stayed at the Cal Neva as well which I like though. Reminds me of The Horseshoe and I just like being able to walk around the downtown area compared to how the set up is at the Peppermill.

I was playing all sorts of good games. Well over 100% return and good comp/card/mail.

I was playing a ton of full pay Spin Poker all over that city.

Anyways that is the past but I figure that they still have some good things going on. I am pretty sure the Peppermill is still doing the two week bounce back thing.

It is just such a long drive... 8 hours to go somewhere to play a bunch of the things I play here but the air quality and scenery is worth it. Not to mention the lake and the skiing in the winter time.

Haven't been in this place for about 6 months

Near the Front Entrance they have a Dollar 7/5 ACE$ game that has two progressives and at times can be over 100%.
Not usual but worth a quick look as you walk around.

8/5 Quarter Bonus Poker Bank --- Near Front Entrance ---- 4 or 5way progressive.
Sometimes the progressives on these machines stick so it is worth it to check them all, if the numbers are playable.

Half Dollar 8/5 Aces and Eights with Sequential Royal
2 machines - One near the Pizza Parlor / One near the Bathroom close to the Elevators
These machines are usually playable no matter what but you might want to wait for 2500 on the Royal
Decent Comp Card for The Steak House

Check the Bars... especially one by the Deli... They have a few Progressives that get playable
Usually around 6000 coins on the Royal depending on the game
$1 9/7 Double Bonus is worth a check

Side Note: This place can be good if you want to check Reel Progressives but that requires more time and knowledge.
If you already understand how to vulture those you don't need them listed.

Red Rock has 25-cent progressives on six different games, none of which is full pay, but all start at $1500. The progressive royal rarely hits below $2500 and sometimes exceeds $4000. Seats are limited to six (?) and there can be a line waiting to play above $3000.

Jackpots grow because players fail to push the royals at higher amounts.

Found a couple of Reel Progressives that are very high and over 100%. I have posted about these machines before but never posted when they are up. I will not be able to play them as I am involved in something better at the moment. If anyone has interest in checking them out or even playing them I only post the information to help. If others think I am wrong and the games are no good you have no reason to be offended by such a post.

Both Games are the Dollar Red Hot Sevens (3 Coin) at the Fremont Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas.

I left the one progressive over by the 5 dollar VP bank of machines that was at 5805 (1000 Reset)
This machine is close to that 5 dollar VP bank and the Filament Bar.

The other game was at 3820 (1000 Reset) and you can find it beside the Hosts area in the bank of 6 Red Hot Seven Machines.

Both numbers are by far playable and if I can find someone to keep spinning the reels I will put them to work but I am guessing they will be hit soon or locked down. Just thought I would give up some current information and such since this is a Las Vegas Gambling Website/Forum.

If you are interested or those two got Reset you still can check on the Older 2 coin version.
That machine is located beside the 6 machine progressive Quick Hit Bank near the Fremont Entrance and the Dice Pit.
Last I seen that machine was at 3224 or so.
That game is by far playable over 3200 (1600 Reset).

I wish I understood the James Bond or Wally Sparks reference better.
If I understood it more clearly I could tell you which one I am emulating in this post.

I made a mistake about the Red Rock 25-cent progressives. First of all there are 8 games to choose from and not six. There are only five seats.

As of Monday evening the current royal progressive was north of $2800 and only two of the five machines were being played. I stuck $100 in and played 6/5 Bonus and yes all the paytables are that bad. I did hit quad aces after being down about $70 and kept playing till the meter was at $100 and I cashed out even.

I'm going to admit that I "pushed" the chance of hitting a royal twice:

#1 I was dealt a flush with three royal cards and I only held the royal cards

#2 I was dealt a straight with these cards but not in this order: 8h, 9d, Tc, Jc, Qc and I held only the three royal cards.

The APs might call me a ploppie but I wanted the $2800 royal.

Is this a five meter progressive? Meters on small quads, generic quads, 4 Aces, Straight Flush, Royal Flush?

Just the $2800 royal puts the game a little over 101%. Alan, if you are going to play try playing whenever you find the royal meter at $2500 or higher.

The extra $1800 in the meter suggests that the meter rate is pretty strong. Could be 2%, maybe even 3%. Which means you might find this game in positive mode many times a year.

Do you know how to clock a meter?

Yep, definitely in the 2 to 3% range. If you like to play Alan then play when he meter is high. You might find advantage play fun.

GVR has bartop progressive royals in the Mexican restaurant (and maybe other bars) on quarters, but all the games are "full" pay tables like 8/5 BP, 9/7DB, 9/6DDB. I never tracked the meter rate.

  17. #17
0.25% so whatevs. But meter reats and payback % and that jargon don’t matter ain’t nobody ever paid the bills with meter rates and paytables.

Plenty more information to type out but sometimes I get lazy.
Funny to watch these guys argue about one progressive bank at the Red Rock.
Everyone who plays at the Red Rock knows they have a few VP Progressives that get playable.
I know a few guys who get on the cell phone calling others and locking up machines for them.

I would rather go over to South Point and play the 7/5 Bar progressive that gets up all the time.

The point is that you have plenty of small edges with low risk and low risk of heat in Vegas to push along.

I seen mcap say something about meters and progressives won't pay the bills but I would beg to differ on that subject.

Seems I may not be the only one here that sometimes doesn't recognize sarcasm monet.

Mcaps comment was in reference to Rob Singer, who during various discussions about EV in blackjack, refers to EV as "phantom bucks" that can't pay the rent or buy groceries. In this case perhaps mcap should have called it "phantom credits".

Both are equally wrong. In this town, there are lots of rents, mortgages, groceries and other bills that get paid on the backs of meters, progressives (machines, not betting systems) and blackjack EV.
