Thread: Casino Etiquette for Machine play

  1. #1
How do I write this without the appearance of bragging? Trust me, I wouldn't be writing this if it was just coincedence. But it happens almost everytime we go to a casino.

My lady friend is in healthcare. Pretty much a workaholic as most are in that field. She doesn't see the world in terms of dollars but rather lives. People are naturally drawn to her. Hell, I was and I'm an asshole. Thus she is blissfully unaware of her surroundings. I'm aware of everything going on in a casino from hookers negotiations to a robbery being cased. It's become 2nd nature.

For me, the casino is my work place. Not much of a fun place. So on the rare occasion that we do go to a casino together, she likes to play the slots. I think, because her job is so intense, she likes to just zone out. The bells and whistles are exciting to her. Inevitably, some guy plops down beside her. She doesn't seem to understand that she is being hit on. No, it's not just me being overzealous. Even her daughter points it out to her. Come on mom, let's move. Her daughter is very attractive as well but she has a look of "don't mess with me fucker" on her face.

I can't stand watching the money going up and down at the touch of a spin button. So I'm usually in the sportsbook because I don't mix business (playing blackjack) with pleasure. So I get a (help) signal. For instance, one time I went over to check on her. She will say, "stand right there, that guy is constantly staring at me and it's freaking me out." So I look over and sure enough not just him, but 3 other guys are tractor beamed in as well.

Now, I've walked through a casino thousands of times and seen millions of ladies sitting at a slot machine. Never have I had the urge to sit next to and hit on one. I mean if I did what would I say? Wow, your cherries and sevens are really spinning in place tonight?

Also, she seems to win or will be up and feels awful when she looses. But she can't seem to stop once she starts. Any advice?

I don't understand why you allow friends or loved ones to play bad games in the Casino? I put the people I know or care about on winning plays. If I find out they played something on their own they never hear the end of it. Usually I am playing Video Poker with someone and I might have to go to the bathroom. One time I said that I am going to the Bathroom and watch these machines but don't play until I come back and can confirm your holds. I came right back and my wife was pushing away on the buttons. I hit the ceiling. She never did that again. If you care enough about these people not to get hit on in a public place where men congregate you should care enough not to allow them to be alone and play losing games in my opinion.

Either teach them what and how to play so they will make some money or go do something else. Just my two cents... do whatever you want.

I've tried. But they don't want to hear it. I've had buddies that are college professors come to visit and play green chips blackjack. I tried to tell the them just a little about counting. The "deer in the headlights" is a signal to just shut myself up.

As I said it's rare. But her son got married a few weeks. Many decided to go to this casino in a small town after the rehearsal dinner. I was bored to death. But they were all having a good time. So I went to watch games in the sportsbook which also had the stage where the band was playing. Figured I catch a couple of quick Z's before the long drive home.

Sure enough, her daughter comes to find me because they have a stalker following them from machine to machine.

Now I know it's common for hookers to meet their john at a casino bar near the sportsbook. Easy to say meet me at....
There are certain tables out of the sight if the EITS as well. But a couple of ladies playing at a machine is a pickup sign?
