Is Shreveport worth traveling to for a low roller vulture these days? Do they have a lot of those games by our favorite three letter company like the one with the precious metal and the north african country and the fish with levels in wizard and the guy who is incredibly Fortunate to summon robin williams' cartoon character with a light producing device?

    Dude,

I've got competition popping up in my neck of the woods in my shitty little home casino and the casinos nearby have always had a little bit of competition. When I say, "Competition popping up," I'm talking about people from hundreds of miles away doing driving tours to scout places, I've run into two such people from the Northeast in as many weeks. Long and short, I don't know that anywhere is good for a low roller vulture these days.

I also ran into another guy a few months ago, but he had his own unique set of issues. I kind of helped him out a little bit, or at least, tried to. I tried to put him on a few better places and helped him get there, I thought about writing an article about it, but it seems like that could be seen as exploitative. Like I only helped him for the purpose of having something to write about, or something.

I don't know what it is. I think it's a combination of more people are trying it and some of the newer plays are easy as fuck to figure out.

You've also got to figure that I'm an in and out guy, I don't camp unless I have a pretty good reason to. (Example: Waiting out someone on a must-hit) so if I'm in there for a half hour to an hour, tops, and I'm running into people doing the same thing I'm doing and bullshitting with them in that short of an amount of time...there are probably even more people there doing it who I am not seeing.

This is kinda funny to me at least.
I was just walking through a nearby Casino.
Some old fella was playing this Quick Hit Wheel Spin Game.
Some 20 something, with his hipster clothes and hip backpack was hawking him hard... about 4 feet behind.
He was obviously watching, waiting and hoping as the numbers kept climbing up and up.
I had other things to do so I don't know if he got to swoop in or not.

Of course I am in Vegas though so it is completely different compared to where you guys are located.

If you want to know the truth, I feel more bad for the guys than I do annoyed by the competition. I have other reasons for being in the casino, but if I didn't, it wouldn't break my heart to never walk in there again when it comes to the vulturing value. Camping out there (in my opinion) dilutes it to the point of worthlessness, and I think I have a big enough sample size on it to make that judgment.

I've run into three different guys in the last few months camping it around the clock for multiple days. That dilutes the value to garbage. When I have no competition, I can pop in there twice a day for about an hour the first time and a half hour twelve hours later and average $70-$100 in value a day (not counting big must hits because those are too few and far between to really work into the average).

Anyway, that's about what it's worth to me, too. If I can get $70-$100 in value in 2.5 hours per day, (including travel time) then that's pretty good. It's a decent little supplemental income from vulturing that casino. Again, I have other stuff to do there, but I only have to be there once a week for the other stuff. Any worse than $70-$100 in that 2.5 hours and it's not worth doing...

...But on the other hand, I almost need to be there a little bit to give these other guys competition so they'll go the fuck away, you know? It's a really tough balance because I'm kind of in between giving them enough competition to make them want to leave (so I can make my $70-$100 daily the easy way again) or just saying, "Fuck it," and letting them have it. It's just a little supplemental money. It's not the end of the world if I lose it. If they want to camp out there eighteen hours a day, more power to them, you know?

The other problem is that even when I get the place back to myself for a couple weeks, then it seems like someone new pops up again and we start the whole thing over.

Anyway, I'll just say that I don't, "Hawk," people under any circumstances because I think it's bullshit and the people who do should be embarrassed. Just go find an open bank ten or so feet away and take a seat. I don't know what about being a vulture/hustler thinks that confers upon them the right to mess up someone else's good time, but I'm not doing it.

I would say that Vegas was different, but now it doesn't seem like it's much different. I can barely walk into a place without noticing someone else vulturing something.

You stated earlier, players are driving many miles to vulture a game.
Vegas is different in that you have many Casinos nearby as you already know.
Vegas has crazy competition for Vision Plays.

When Visions first started I used to see fist fights break out.

The way I understand it in Vegas is that you can basically stand directly behind a person playing.
I suppose they could try to get you to move but I am not sure how many inches or feet by law.

    Monet,

I said that they are driving many miles to scout the casino, this casino doesn't even have any of what I would consider, "The Big Three," that you would want to see for vulturing. I think that they then stick around a few days to check out the traffic to see if there is enough value to make camping a worthwhile daily thing, a worthwhile weekend thing or what have you. One of the guys I saw knew his stuff and claimed to be on a small AP team, but I never saw any of the other guys, so I don't know if he was telling the truth about that. His story rated about a 7/10 in believability.

What I meant by Vegas not being different is that it seemed (when I was there) that most casinos were overrun by vultures. You could check all the vulturable machines in a casino and you would come away with little to no value most of the time. That was never like that around here, you didn't necessarily have competition on an individual casino basis, but now it seems that everything is contested. You expect areas with a high concentration to be contested, but casinos that are 35-40 miles from the next closest casino? It's like battling over bread crumbs.

I don't know there is a law anywhere about how close you can or cannot be to a person, but standing close enough that it could reasonably be expected to make the person uncomfortable is a dick move, in my opinion.

    Louisiana is considered east?

No, my point is that there is likely competition everywhere.

I did Shreveport/Bossier City last March. Very few vulturables there.
