Any reason not to start up a blackjack section?
Any reason not to start up a blackjack section?
Yeah. Unfortunately dumb and dumber would hijack it, and it would be no different from all the other threads.
I like the idea, though.
This is the same easy-to-read and reply format as BJTF. More latitude to talk about the game without worshiping others that constantly need their ego stroked.
Don’t know what to tell you. DanD is ill. It’s not happening here any time soon. If a basic strategy test could be required it might work lol.
That would be wonderful.
Or simply start a thread that begins with the word "blackjack" for now. Perhaps all has been said that needs to be said about the game. Thus why other sites are drying up and interest in posting is down to a few. For the most part, it's the same old mundane crap over and over again.
So why would you promise not to be involved? Because you don't play the game and know the subject matter? Because that didn't seem to stop you from forming an opinion, and erroneously posting about two blackjack related topics, tracking multiple tables and partial counts for a year now?
I personally am NOT in favor of a blackjack section. There just aren't but a couple serious blackjack players on this site and to some degree, I agree with moses….there isn't that much new to discuss in terms of blackjack.
Based on everything else I have experienced on THIS site, a blackjack section would just be flooded with erroneous mis-information, by the anti-AP trolls, two of whom are the leading posters on this site. We would do nothing but spend all our time cleaning up their lies and bullshit. And anything useful that anyone wanted to contribute would just be challenged, as everything is by the anti-AP crowd.
So what's the point. On this site, as the saying goes, "you can't have nice things".
KJ would be the expert on that topic. KJ. This might be something right down your alley. You've always been good to answer questions and great with newbiess and less experienced players. Boz has experience. Monet sounds like his hindparts has it leather a time or two? Kim Lee. Dankyone has made some quality posts.
Heck, that's already up to the number of everyday posters at that other site.

Nope. I don't do sequencing.
For those who aren't familiar, sequencing usually involves tracking one or two Aces through the shuffle and attempting to "steer" them towards your (or partners) large wager. You sequence the 3 cards just before a particular ace. Lets say they are 5 of Diamonds, 9 of clubs and Jack of spades. So after the shuffle and the simpliler the shuffle, the better, you see the 5 of Diamonds, then 3 cards later, you see the 9 of clubs, you know that this particular shuffle results in 2-3 cards being inserted between the previous sequence. So 2-3 cards after the 9 of clubs, you should see the Jack of spades and then 2-3 more cards you should see the target card (the Ace being tracked) and try to steer that target card towards yourself or a teammate, who has a very large wager out at that particular time. If you can successfully steer that ace to that large wager, you have over a 50% advantage for that hand.
It really only works with pretty simple shuffles. I just never really got too much into that.
Just start a thread called blackjack. Or better yet, Dan could just take the question mark off the title to this thread and you have a section where all blackjack discussion can take place. I never cared much for forums having different sections for different gambling subjects. I'm interested in all forms of gambling and would just as soon they all be in one section.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ
Good point MC. But it doesn't take long to veer off subject. Not just in forums. The other night a guy bought some popcorn at the gift shop and brought to the sportsbook. It was really good popcorn. The conversation went from where did you get it? To theater popcorn. To the best microwave popcorn. The conversation finally ended when one a guy stated there was no longer a prize in Cracker Jacks. Geesh. lol
Well, I'm sure Zee and Moses would be interested since they have to other forum to go to.
I'm assuming that is referring to claims of Teflon or something in the water when cleaning. I don't think mine has Teflon. My VitaMix is probably 8 years old. I bought it at Costco from some gal doing a demo. It is a model 5200. Paid 4 or 500 for it, can't remember. I have never had anything in the water and I have checked. These things are top of the line. I bought it because the guy who owned the Tropical Smoothie said it was the only way to go. I have used this thing at least 1500 times since buying without issue. You can make soup in them, if you put it on full speed. Cleanup takes less than a minute.

I understand they are amazing and many people swear by them. I read someone comment about walking down the street ingesting more harmful materials than a few black Teflon Flakes. I read that after Aug 11, 2015 Vitamix fixed that problem and moved to a white lubricant so you won't see the oil in the water if you test them. Although they did settle a lawsuit about the Teflon Flakes and you can see it here... http://www.blendersettlement.com/
Actually if you wanted to, you could call Vitamix and tell them your Jar has specs in it and they would send you a brand new jar but I am pretty sure that is beneath you
This is all trade offs anyway. If you want a High Speed Blender you are going to have to take some of the bad for all the good. I have more of a problem with the plastic containers than anything. Especially for soups. If I do buy a high speed blender I will probably get a stainless steel one. I found out that the Waring Jar fits on the Vitamix 7500. Of course that is a Warranty Issue. I might not need one since I already have expensive Juicers and believe more in Juicing. I am pretty sure I can get away with a Food Processor, Juicer and my cheap blender to do almost everything that is required.
Now the new gimmick is Vacuum Blending
I appreciate your reply, opinion and explanation on your experience. Thank You.
