Thread: The Advantage Play of a Lifetime....Squandered

  1. #1
Overnight Sat. we drove up here to Reno for a 3-night stay in a Tuscany suite at the Peppermill--compliments of casino mgmt. friends of ours. You know, the same people who've shown/proven to me that no card counter who claims to beat any and all Nevada casinos year after year by "travelling under the radar" is telling the truth.

Anyway, we came up specifically to go the the annual Italian Festival (filled with greaseballs like me, yes) outside the Eldorado yesterday. I always choose to valet park at Harrahs across Virginia St. and walk over. But this year it seems valet is only open for Diamond and 7-Stars, and because I'm a lowly Gold we had to self-park.

Here's where I discovered why there were so few people inside that dump: they charge $10 to park. However, surprise of surprises! If you show your card with the ticket at the casino cashier, they'll reward you with TEN DOLLARS OF FREE PLAY! OMG!! I mean, free play is the bomb, right? If I could turn in all my cash for free play + 10%....who wouldn't do THAT?? A reason to live on!

Well as soon as we walked inside the dingy place I tossed the ticket right where it belongs--into the trash can. In addition to the place looking depressed and unkempt, we were clearly in a casino where normal white people are the minority...big time. Yeah there were your typical mohawk-sporting, wooden earring-wearing weirdo white trash all over the place. But the Chinese, Philippino, and the bros of course were predominant, while the workers were mostly hispanics.

But don't let me discourage anybody from getting some free play. Sure you have to pay ten bucks to have it bestowed upon you, but ap's never lose correct? What a life they must have, frequenting dumps like this, Ellis Island, Sam's Town, etc.

Your casino management friends are an excellent source of information Singer. Kind of like asking the fox who ate the hens.

I for one am ready to give up my card counting based on this. See if you can find me an address for me to send the $1,022, 000+ I have made from card counting over the last 15 years, back to.

...you mean you didn't walk across the street? They love singers. Man...you've got to go into the real dumps. Then Harrahs doesn't seem so bad. You'd be better off to park in El Dorado garage and use the Skywalk. I'm surprised you made it walking from Harrahs to El Dorado. Some don't.

I know. EVERYTHING about Singer and his claims is alternative reality, "Twilight zone" stuff. It is all make-believe. We all played "make believe when we were kids....cops and robbers, cowboys and Indians. This Harry Argentino/Rob Singer character is still playing at age 70 or 80 or whatever he is.

Wait for it...next thing you know, one of his imaginary friend casino management sock puppets will show up backing up everything this Singer person says.

Just send the check to me. I'll make sure they get it. So Rule of 72, you should be near $2 mil. No?

If I ended my year today, it would be my best year as far as blackjack card counting results (my 3rd best overall AP results, but best from blackjack card counting). Part of that is because I have put in more time playing than previous years, after my partner passed, just to keep busy and part of that is because I am running well above expectation for the year. Positive variance.

So it is good to know that your casino management friends are feeding you a load of shit that card counting no longer works.

Oh and BTW, I am NOT stopping for the year now. I may go higher, I may fall back....who knows. But not playing, when you are playing with an advantage is the only surefire way to lose.

There is rules. And there are exceptions to the rule. Most couldn't make a "believe" $100K in 10 years on Verite. You're an exception.

Honestly, they could post the count on a tote board behind the table and most would still screw up.

But I do have one little itsy bitsy question. If it doesn't work - why do they throw people out for "counting"?

Exception? Humm...aren't any of us that make money in the longterm, the exception? When compared to the millions of players, blackjack and other games that lose money? (instead of ploppy, we will now use the term Alans)

I may be an "exception" in that I make money, where as most of the millions of blackjack players worldwide, lose money, but I am living proof that you don't have to be "exceptional" to win playing blackjack. All it takes is a little discipline and a common sense game plan.

And while I may be in the minority of players winning money at blackjack, It is a much larger group than people (the general public realizes). I see winning players regularly at the green and up tables. Not so much at the $5 and $10 tables, where players are idiots.

Now when I say "winning players", obviously few are making 100k or even playing for a living, although some are. I see serious players, playing strong winning games regularly, a few times a week. Not the same faces, although a few. Most serious players like to travel, so I suspect they get to Vegas only occasionally, unlike myself. And most of these serious players, whether playing for a living, or whatever they are at financially, have branched out much more than me, playing other table games at an advantage as well as machine plays. Most are far better rounded AP's than I am....while I am headed in the other direction....back to my blackjack roots.

THAT may be were I am a bit of an abnormality....that my primary focus is on blackjack and card counting, which I still enjoy and absolutely love that I am able to make a living doing. The other area that I am probably a bit of abnormality is that I enjoy sharing my experiences and journey, even to my detriment and even though doing so has bit me in the ass several times. I can't tell you how many times my true online AP friends have contacted me by PM or email suggesting that I STFU....for my own good.

Stop your personal attacks kewlj. You have no idea if I have lost or won money. You've only read what I posted.

Frankly even the other attorney is questioning me after seeing my three $100k royals, and unfortunately I hit one of them while my ex was spending a weekend with me..
And while waiting for the $100k check, I hit quad aces for $10k.

Oh... but I need to say this: I've never had a profitable year in a casino.

Change the word little for "a lot of" and add patience = exception. Few- very few employ any common sense whatsover.

FWIW it just pisses people off. There was the greatest handicapper in the world frustrated because people don't listen to his advice or take his picks. Heckuva nice guy. But who gives a flip? Either your cashing tix, throwing away, or using cheap wallpaper. The first is foremost - the rest doesn't matter. Highly intelligent but his bank account wouldn't get him to Elko.

Rule of 72 is divide 72 by your interest rate of return and your money will double in that amount of years. So, your first mil invested at 12% will double every 6 years. In 12 years, you make your 2nd mil at the casinos but your money makes 3 mil. You were 10 years ahead of me and I did some jobs that were downright scary at times. So invest your rewards wisely. You're still a young man - Tower of Power good song.

Alan you have been playing this retarded little game for several months now. You are correct, I only know what you post. MY big mistake with you from day one, was treating you as though you were telling the truth, as I tend to do with people. I tend to give them the benefit of doubt. For several weeks or months now, you have been playing this game, announcing that we can't take you at your word.....that you are dishonest and a liar.

So, I don't care if you have had a winning year or two. I hope you have. I mean really if you hit a couple or several 100k royals in one year, which I think is what you are indicating and you didn't have a winning year that year, you have a very serious problem.

So while I don't know if you had a winning year or two and you have proven that we can't trust you to tell the truth, here is something I do know for sure. You, are a losing player! Big time losing player! Life long losing player!

And you will tell us that you enjoy being that kind of player, but then everything you post, say and do says otherwise. Your clear resentment of those if us that actually win, says otherwise.

Kewlj I've said it over and over on this forum: why would anyone using their own name post about profits in a casino? (With the exception of redietz who has a business but surprisingly only posts about contests and not actual winnings.)

You can post all you want because no one knows you.

    Carry on.

    Three comments.

    1) You saw the 25k Race to the Super Bowl announcement (saying redietz won). You said I should post a link. Or have you forgotten?

    2) Surely you've seen the tickets of E.R.Dietz (my cousin?) in the Retro Road trip thread.

    3) Surely you realize that, in sports betting, a public record implies more than any number of tickets or "actual winnings". No number or amount of winning tickets demonstrates anything, as there may be losing tickets that dwarf the winners. No income tax winnings demonstrate anything, as one could simply not use losers to offset wins, with the goal being to establish "documentation" that one is a winner. Really, all that matters is "what is your record?" A public record is more credible than any alternative.

I like #3 redietz. Does that mean we shouldn't believe anyone's reports of winning such as what MaxPen says he won in one day?

    LOL

Alan don't you know that when you show such big winners on this forum and to these type people, all you're doing is stoking the flames of jealousy, with them having no choice but to claimi that you obviously poured your profits all back in and more, so you were really a loser.

It is the only way these bazookas can cope. That, and by reading more of redietz' corn.

Gee Rob, I was just trying to show them that even a bumbling stupid player like me who makes the wrong holds can sometimes get a hand that you can't mess up. Here's another one. And I bet jbjb thought I was going to drop the 9 to draw for the royal! LOL
