Why do I feel no animosity towards others here, even those that I may not like or that I disagree with?

When Alan talks about DI, and claims to have known of players or seen players that could influence the dice, he gets absolutely skewered by all the usual suspects.

His stories are met with ridicule, he's mercilessly attacked from every angle.

On the otherhand, you have stated many times that you once possessed DI skill, played craps for many years with great success, and not one of them ever challenged you.

Your stories are met with polite silence.

These guys howl with certainty that DI is quackery and not possible, but they never howl at you, yet you're the only one here that's ever claimed he could do it, and has done it.

Don't you find it strange, that you're given a pass and treated with respect, making the same points that causes Alan to get attacked?

If you got treated the same way Alan's been treated, just over the DI stuff alone, then perhaps you'd feel some animosity.

Coach-you may be on to something. Although V did give me a little heat on DI and probably a few others. But let's say he gave me a lot of heat. Ok--must I now hate him and direct venomous attacks at him. Or just disagree and move on. That is kind of the point I was making. You see or hear of this sort of behavior in the casinos all the time. A bunch of timid players at a table who find all manner of excuse for something wrong that a dealer does in a hand, that costs them a bit of money. Oh, but they want to be allowed back (to try to get their money back).

This sort of problem or confusion, among even the best of the AP's, arises from being pitted alone against the casinos.

There is always an optimal strategy, but we must be careful to not isolate how we determine it. For sure, play the best game that you can, be as nasty about as you want to be, everyone for himself, play right, lunge and parry or all-in. Just be as sure to see your own specific optimal strategies well within any general optimal strategy.

If the optimal strategy for poker player A to call poker player B's bet is a third of the time, then the strategy for A and C to call B sums to a third of the time. A and C work tacitly "together" to work for each other. This is sort of the basis for much of Nash's breakthrough game theory work as applied to economic theory to help to stabilize the stock markets. Full disclosure is better for everyone.

Regardless, such optimal "socializing" is only one aspect of the many inherent connections derived from games. To try to play, let alone win, a game to some sort of isolated ending is plain foolhardy. Cold war stuff.
