Leave it to a desperate mind like yours to want to believe that a businessman in the gambling business who receives kickbacks from other businesses, is really some type of casino gambler getting rebates in the sense that we talk about them here.

You see why you're so pathetic yet?

Not to in any way imply that we were anywhere near this level, but not that many years ago I was approached by someone who said to me "are you able to grind out a small profit in horses". On further discussion and inquiry I was asked to join a team of horse players that was getting rebates of 10-14%. The rebate is not on losses--rather it is on the gross amount bet. So we were encouraged and instructed to make massive show bets to grind out a large handle with little risk. Of course, if any of you have heard of "bridge jumpers" in horse racing, the bridge jumper makes huge show bets on heavy favorites hoping to make 5%. One loss and you're dead. So you still had to be careful.

I didn't feel that this proposition made bridge jumping that much better, even with the rebate, but we were not limited to just making the show bets. Ultimately, the group was indicted on other issues. I played on someone else's account and luckily avoided any inquiry. But if you could limit your loss to under 10%, you actually made a pretty good profit. If you also turned a profit, that was of course a bonus. It was almost risk free if you had any talent at all.

I should have said the leaders of the group were indicted--not the group as a whole.

Regnis, were you part of one of the established "whale squads?" There have been roughly a dozen "whale squads" for years that have used the privately offered rebates and automated wagering to grind. The bridge jumping emphasis suggests a different kind of group, but the rebate amount sounds about right. That is a helluva rebate.

I know people who trained some teams in exploiting bridge jumping the other way -- in WV, I believe, for example.

Well of course we all know you have the talent...don’t think I’ve ever read that you’ve lost at anything...even for one day

Were it not for Singer, Regnis might have called himself Zteider.

Keystone--besides being an asshole you don't have much reading comprehension. I didn't say that I had the talent nor did I say that I performed very well. I gave you some facts that I thought meshed well with Mickey's original post. And I have stated on many occasions that I lose way more often than I would like and that I am extremely aggressive and suffer huge losses as well as enjoy huge wins. When you chase Pick 5's and 6's you will have a large number of losses but a few huge wins. On the "rainbows" where you have to have the only winning ticket the payoff makes up for a lot of losses.

Redietz--because I stayed in the background and wagered for my friend (no risk to me--% of his rebate), I pretended not to know who ran the group. But I did know--they were bad people who were double dipping. They were not one of the whale squads.

And believe me, while the rebate is nice, it is still hard to make a profit betting horses. If the rebate were only on losses, it would be a no go, at least for me. But since the rebate is on the gross, it makes a huge difference.

Bill--I honestly don't know what "zteider" means, but I do know what shmuck means.

Asshole?....why I was merely complimenting you on your many, and seemingly constant wagering success stories

From schmuck to clever, in a couple of minutes. Isn't it always the way.

P.S. Come on, now, you looked up the Urban dictionary meaning of that word after pondering the username Singer. What are the odds that you didn't?

Bill--you can go back years to find that whenever accused of the backwards Singer I have referred the accuser to the actual meaning. OK--back to schmuck-lol.

P.S.--I usually go from Schmuck to bigger schmuck. So congrats to you.

TV, Dish, stereo, tv soundbar, Sirius radio thru stereo, fire TV, blu-ray DVD, and digital video recorder (for the local channels). I put this stuff in every living room, family room, and master bedroom in each house. Same with the big rug. An engineer geek thing.

They have this great new (lol) invention called a universal remote or controller that will control mostly every electronic device you can buy....

Wise up and get out of the stone age dummy
