Thread: The Singer Five

So very predictable Argentino. When I (or anyone) challenges your phony, mathematically impossible claims, based on alternative Singer Math, you respond with a series of personal attacks, even sinking to attacking one's mother. Shades of the 8 year old that you are. You can't answer the fact that the math doesn't work, so you slink to the gutter....just as I predicted about 10 hours ago. You are simply a low life and contribute nothing positive to this site.

And then there is Alan, who at times, when it is convenient attempts to play the role of the adult in the room. Ever notice how when Singer goes off the deep end, slinking lower than low, how Alan, conveniently disappears and goes silent, sometimes for days, rather than stand up and say that his "buddy" Singer/Argentino is out of line. That is enabling Alan. I suspect it boils down to you being afraid this Singer person will turn his attacks to you if you stand up and state that he is out of line, so you cower in the corner.

And it is all tolerated. The false claims. The phony math. The alternative reality. What a site.

Listen up kewlj. Long before you got here, when I ran this forum, I dressed down Rob and I suspended him. Your current dispute is with Dan. Shut up about me and set your sites on Dan for your attacks. This is Dan's forum and not mine. Dan makes the rules. Dan is your enabler. Leave me out of it.

    Wait! KJ is gay?

This one guy thought he was gay so he stopped drinking. One night he had a few too many so he walked home from the bar. It was a long walk and he got dizzy and sick. Then he couldn't find the hole to get his key in the door. Finally, he got the door open but it ruffled the rug in front of the door. He tripped on the rug and banged his head really hard on the floor. So laying there sick, dizzy, and almost unconscious he blew chuncks.

So we said, "that doesn't mean you're gay, you just had too much too drink." He replied, "no, no, no, you don't understand. Chuncks is the name of my dog."

The thing about Argentino, I really thought he knew a little more math than he does. I thought he was avoiding math out of choice, not necessity. I was wrong. If his sophistication regarding video poker or gambling in general is anything like his sports nuggets of wisdom ("All I know how to do is win," "Sixty percent," "I have a 4-7% edge," and so on), then I dramatically overestimated him, probably because he's a reasonably decent writer.

I just do not get it. The whole "Singer Five" thing should have just been a list of selections. Instead, he had to invent this whole narrative where he's betting $500 a game and he's paying a dude in Las Vegas to put the bets in for him and so on. He just could not let it be a handicapping story. I guess he needed to establish that he was betting a nickel a game so that he could be a "real gambler" as opposed to an "armchair theorist." Meanwhile, unless he's using carrier pigeons, he's breaking the wire act by betting between states; he's setting up whoever is allegedly putting his bets in for him as an interstate illegal bookmaker, and the dude allegedly doing it is breaking gaming rules and regs in Nevada because you are not really supposed to put in wagers not your own, unless you're running a legal gambling entity. So how could anybody "in the know" not know this stuff? It's like the guy with the shiny cowboy boots goes out on the range and steps in cow pie after cow pie. You're not fooling anybody, dude. You look like a square dancer with the Rockettes.

I guess, since I'm not a hardcore video poker expert or player, I never appreciated how amateurish some of the gambling gibberish is, much less the personal nonsense. Now that Argentino's allegedly betting sports, I have a better understanding.

Ok, kind of funny moses. I'll give ya like a B-. Personally, I would have preferred you didn't bring the dog into it. That takes it into beastiality which is a whole other "beast".

Change the punchline to "you don't understand chuncks is the name of the pizza delivery guy" and you get an 'A'.

LMAO. The "shot" or punchline is at drunks instead of gays. I mean, a person would have to get fairly sauced to blow their own dog.

But you put an hilarious twist on it with the pizza delivery guy.

I try to mostly let people express themselves freely here, even if their opinions are controversial or stupid.

I delete messages and ban people from threads when serious threads get hijacked with nonsense.

If Rob ever gets banned again, it will be for trolling, not for posting incorrect gambling info. He's welcome to post all the crackpot theories he likes.

This is your site and allowing mathematically impossible claims or "crackpot theories" as you call them is a reflection on the site and you specifically as owner. This is the reason few legitimate players, AP's or recreational want anything to do with this site and why we don't grow to be anything more than the shithole that it is. Vegas Casino Talk and you Todd Wittles as owner, get labeled as crackpot voodoo nonsense.

Singer's claims of winning a million plus dollars over 10 years playing -EV games are no different than some joker showing up and claiming he has won millions playing roulette by waiting for 4 consecutive blacks to appear and then betting red. It's voodoo/bullshit/nonsense. Mathematically impossible. And allowing such claims here without constant challenges amounts to an endorsement.

Wouldn't you like this site to be taken seriously, as providing useful and mathematically sound information, instead of being viewed as a joke?

    This is a forum.

I do not endorse anything written here, other than things I directly say I endorse.

People know what forums are. They've been around for about 2 decades.

Every forum has its crackpots, trolls, liars, weirdos, etc.

I don't feel I need to act as arbiter of fact and truth here. I can state my opinion, which I have many times, and then the readers can judge.

Rob's ideas are shot down by so many people that I can't imagine any sane reader coming away with the impression that he's right and everyone else is wrong. If someone does, then they aren't intelligent enough to be helped by any legitimate gambling advice here, anyway. Some people are just destined to lose because they refuse to listen to reason.

Reminds me a drive I took from LA to Vegas in around 2006. I was going back to my apartment in Vegas with my then-girlfriend, and one of her friends went along for the ride. Her friend asked me for blackjack advice. Knowing that she was mostly a beginner and didn't need to be overwhelmed with complex strategy talk, I just gave her some very basics, including the need to avoid the 6:5 tables. (Back then, these were actually avoidable at lower limits!)

I asked her a few days later how her trip went. (She got a ride back from someone else.) She told me that she lost. I asked if she stayed away from the 6:5 games. She paused and said, "Uhh... well, no, I did at first, but I wasn't getting lucky at 3:2, so I thought maybe the 6:5 ones would be luckier for me."

I felt like a fool for giving her advice in the first place.

There are two kinds of gamblers. Those that believe in possibilities and those that believe in probabilities. The possibility gamblers outnumber the probability gamblers 99.54% to .46%.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

I gotta tell you. This post ends my participation. We're heading into a brave new world, sports gambling-wise. Ninety percent of the population is going to do it, and has no real idea how to do it, either from a handicapping perspective or a math perspective. If experienced gamblers allow every crackpot theory equal standing with non-crackpot, they do a lot of damage to the general population. If you think the average joe can delineate wheat from chaffe mathematically, I recommend Jon Allen Paulos' "Innumeracy" as a good read.

Saying you have no responsibility isn't really the same as having no responsibility. Why would anybody with expertise, in any endeavor, contribute to a place where crackpot is on the same footing as non-crackpot?

C'mon Red. You have to take Rob at face value. I think he enjoys giving people shit and is not on a mission to save the gambling addicts from themselves. Maybe I'm reading from a different perspective, but the guy cracks me up. Crimm too. And you have a great sense of humor as well. Personally, I need that in my life because the game itself is very intense and everywhere I go, I'm a target. OF course, I am the first to admit I don't know beans about machines. But I see it everyday in the sportsbooks. No one is going to save them from whatever it is that they do. Rob is mild by comparison.

Simply put, this is WORK. But the job offers some great benefits. I read all the forum rhetoric about self professed pros. Exactly who are they trying to impress? It's more like being on scholarship. Hence, the best players live off campus. All I really have to do is play well and stay out of trouble. They take care of the rest.

Whoa camel! Which site is it that isn't subjected to nonsense? Really, do you think the world needs another BJTF? Talk about a joke and utter nonsense. Blackjackinfo. gets like 5 posts a week. Half are from you. Now there is some traffic for you. The best week occurred when Norm banned like 6 guys and they all went their to bitch about it.

ZZ is like my own personal island. I don't read WOV but from what I've read here, it doesn't sound like it's exactly setting the world on fire. I suppose one could pay to be a member of bj21 to read about HiLO and beat off.

    Really?

    Are we coming or going?

    Does it really matter?

    Consider this:

    The True Path

Just before Ninakawa passed away the Zen master Ikkyu visited him. “Shall I lead you on?” Ikkyu asked.

Ninakawa replied: “I came here alone and I go alone. What help could you be to me?”

Ikkyu answered: “If you think you really come and go, that is your delusion. Let me show you the path on which there is no coming and no going.”

With his words, Ikkyu had revealed the path so clearly that Ninakawa smiled and passed away.

    Theories?

BTW, have you noticed who the thread hi-jackers are on THIS thread? And because redietz doesn't want it to be that I'm actually betting something called REAL MONEY on my picks, which the armchair theorists can't get a grip on--and that he chooses to assume I have no property in Nevada or a Nevada DL, he hijacks it with more of his corn. Corn from outer space, just to be clear.
