Me too: that's what we had.

Chinook Winds is my favorite casino, and Lincoln City my favorite "escape to" spot.

The storm was pretty intense: while climbing the outdoor stairs to our third floor motel room, a strong gust blew me backwards, nearly sending me tumbling.

But the weather at the Oregon coast can be much, much worse.

see:

I remember one storm stranded me in Tillamook: it had 100+ mph winds.
I have two sisters that live about 40 miles from the Oregon Coast. It's about an 80 mile drive up to Chinook Winds from where they live. I've driven the coast a few times. I've even been to Cape Foulweather. You know a place has bad weather if it has a name like that. But I actually like the stormy weather when staying at the hotel on the beach at Chinook Winds with the big picture windows looking out on the ocean. There are some vulturables in the casino and from the not so much action I ran they were sending me $29 room rates for awhile. I'll be over that way again this coming year.
