Thread: Hollywood Jamul Casino has rebranded to "Jamul Casino" after heavy losses

The story is 6 months old, but I just read about it today.

Hollywood Jamul Casino, located a number of miles east of San Diego, separated from the Hollywood brand, which was owned by Penn National Gaming.

Hollywood Jamul was initially developed by Penn, and opened in October 2016. Between opening and March 1, 2018, they lost a staggering $89.8 million.

The casino had been in developmental hell for 9 years, with plans dating back to 2007. Legal and community issues kept it from opening for all that time.

The official separation occurred in May 2018. Here's an article about it: https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com...524-story.html

It's located 28 miles east of San Diego, and 12 miles southeast of El Cajon.

    A new poker room?

    LOL

I hope they don't think that will bring in a lot of business.

Poker is mostly a loss leader for casinos.

Only major rooms bring in a significant number of players.
