    Just received the following e-mail from caesars:

    Wonder if this is instead of free rooms which I am still receiving.

    Hi regnis:

    Whenever a casino tells me of "exciting changes" next year, I shudder as it is usually a prelude to diluted benefits.

    The two free nights in Dubai is a hoot. Anyone interested in traveling at their own expense for two nights in a non-casino hotel (illegal to gamble in Dubai) in the Persian Gulf with few visible women and overpriced food? Anyone?

    FAB--that should be the first official review of the free nights in Dubai. You paint a pretty picture.

    One of my friends in the horse industry had to go there for their big day of racing--the Dubai World Cup. He told me never again and he did refuse to ever go again.

    I doubt that they'd make it harder to get rooms in AC....just judging from the mailers I get having not been there in almost 3 years, and no CET play anywhere in 2018, they seem desperate to fill rooms.

    Hi pkspin;

    My guess is that the newly opened Ocean and Hardrock (which are much fresher properties) are going to draw tourists and gamblers away from CET's Ceasars AC and Ballys. As for Harrah's AC, the nearby Borgata is in its orbital pull.

    Well, I got that email too. The text seems to imply no significant additional devaluations next year. I still think that CET is mistaken in not having an intermediate level between Diamond (15,000) and Seven Stars (150,000):

    If someone like Dan Druff earns 5,000 tier credits it at least means one or more guaranteed Vegas and Atlantic City nights.

    If you haven't been to Dubai you would enjoy it. The food in hotel restaurants is over priced as expected, but go out and about and you'll find delicious reasonably-priced to cheap food. Publicly outside of the nice high rise hotels you'll find the women all covered up. But go to the hotel bars and clubs after dark and there's just as many scantily dressed young women as in any London hotel. These are where everybody from town along with out of town hotel visitors unwind after their typical stuffy and strict Muslim days.

    Didn't like Dubai, never totally felt safe and the wives felt very uneasy all the time. They wouldn't go anywhere without us on their sides. Although there are certain places that cater to certain Americans, it's more than obvious they really don't like us. I would never go back.

    That's right--they don't like us, and I don't like them. That's why all of my trips there were business trips.

    I happened to hit a camel in the desert--and injured it--driving between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and it was like hitting a person. The camel's owner had me brought to their tribunal the next day where I was found guilty of animal negligence. I was to either pay a $150,000 US fine to the owner, or spend two years in their jails. My company paid the fine and I was released in 24 hours.
