Thread: It's that time of year for gifts in the mail.

It's that time of year for gifts in the mail from the casinos. In years past there were boxes of chocolates and boxes of candy. This year -- there are boxes of chocolates and boxes of candy. Why?

For one thing, the casinos are killing their good patrons with the boxes of chocolate and boxes of candy. Instead of sending a five pound box of chocolate, they'd be better off sending a couple of hand weights or ankle weights so their patrons could exercise, live longer and gamble more.

Instead of chocolate, why not send a gift card for some gasoline, or the always-appropriate free play certificate?

They don't want to send any kind of small electronics item such as a calculator-- because patrons might use it to add up their losses. They don't want to send a clock or a watch because casinos don't want you to be aware of time.

A gift certificate for a holiday turkey would work. Or a coupon for a special dinner at one of the casino's finest might prompt another trip.

Does anybody really want boxes of candy anymore? I'm so anti-candy (sorry all you candy company people) that I wouldn't even re-gift the casino's candy treats.

Ya know... if the casinos really had a heart at this time of year, they could send money orders to their players payable in US currency and that would really make the holidays brighter.
