This guy Bob falls out of the sky and starts posting conversations here thanking Moses for his writings, advice, and style of play which just so happen to be the complete opposite of what KJ believes. He actually asked where he could read more about Mosses play, this after following him for years.

Suddenly, he admits to also stalking KJ for years and loves him the same and got a lot out of KJ’s postings. The one topic KJ don’t talk about because he doesn’t do it, “team play” is what this guy is interested in. This after following his posts for years.

YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS SHIT UP
Hey blackhole, you didn’t do a bad job summarizing things up in your own demented way. If you read your own posts (and do some thinking), you’ll see why I came out of my hole and went from lurker to asking questions. I had learned all I could through lurking and wanted more presise information. I was truly surprised Moses revealed so much information on what he did. Btw, other posters besides me liked what Moses posted on his system.

Like you said, KJ has not posted much on team play. Since I like his take on things, even though I don’t agree with it all the time. I wanted to know his thoughts on team play. I’m sure he’s had a lot of opportunity to play on teams since he’s been in Vegas, and it looks like he’s decided to stay a lone wolf. Since I’ve had some people recently ask me to join their team, I wanted to know his views on team play. I welcome any other opinions on this topic.

In fact, I probably should have opened a new thread called “Team Play”. I haven’t opened up a new thread on this forum yet so it’s my next step here. Hope that doesn’t throw you off kilter and into one of your rants. It’s hard to know what’ll get you riled up. You must have had a hard life. Sorry to hear that.

Hey blackhole, here’s something else to think about. The primary reason I registered to post on this site is to ask Moses a question about his system. He had just mentioned it again in one of the threads so I thought this would be a good opportunity to ask him to elaborate on it. I’ve thought about registering to post here in the past but never got around to it.

So the catalysis to get me motivated to register and post here was wanting to know more about Moses’s system.

You know it does take some effort to get registered to post here. Dan makes it easy, but you do have to go through some steps. Now that I’m registered here, it makes it easy to post. So I’m now entering into some threads I probably wouldn’t have in the past. My point is that I probably wouldn’t have registered on this site to ask KJ a question, but since I’m now registered it’s easy to do so, so why not?

See how all of this is starting to make sense...and there is not this underlining conspiracy you’re trying to concoct. I’ve never met Moses or KJ. I’m just asking them some questions. It’s there call if they want to answer them. And it’s your call if you want to make more out of these questions then what I meant by them.

Just wondering because somewhat often my cash and records don’t balance — it’s not ever by much, and usually because I forgot to record a tip, a cash expense, or something small like that. Plus, dealing with other people (receiving and transferring money is probably the biggest factor to non-balancing records).

I just can’t imagine doing that with chips, that would be a total nightmare. Unless you specifically go to a casino with, say, exactly $500 or $1,000 in chips (plus whatever cash), making it easier to balance. But keeping track of 50c or 25c pieces? Oof. Not for me! I just generally try to have the same amount in my wallet starting off a day, which makes it easier to balance at the end of a session or play.
I start each day with sort of a daily bankroll in cash and chips from the casinos I plan to visit that day. I note that number in the memo section on my phone. After each session, I not win/loss, EV and many a brief note if anything usual occurred (heat-wise). When I get home I add it all up and yes, occasionally, not often though there is some discrepancy. Usually $50, $100, something fairly small. The number I record and go with is the cash/chips I actually have. That might mean I adjust the numbers that I recorded.

Personal money is kept separate, so that doesn't effect things at all.

Boy you are really an idiot Blackhole. "forced to read"? Who is holding a gun to your head?

Yeah, there are some negative comments. Seriously not many though. If it gives you a tingle to read some negative comments, go back and do it. You know where the thread is.

For most players, No, a year, calendar year or any way you what yo break it up does not equate to "the long-term" where the math takes over and begins to "harness" short-term variance. But for me, a grinder type player who plays a lot, 70-100 thousand rounds a year, it is pretty close. I had that one year, far below expectation $27,000 vs EV of around $85,000, but most others are pretty close.

I would prefer to use an even larger sample size and segment of time, maybe 2 years as I think that would further smooth things out, BUT I don't get to make that choice. The Federal government, wants it done a certain way for tax purposes.

Idiot (again). Most of my posts and comments about WoV are in a thread entitled The WoV thread! Completely appropriate. Again, what it boils down to is you have such a hard-on for me, you can't help read every word I post and then need to comment. If I am so offensive to you, use the block feature, jackass.

I tend to share my experiences and most of that was was solo play. Only the last two years, 2017, 2018 was I really involved in a small two man team. (more on that in a sec).

I have been asked to join several teams in my 15 years career, including a couple pretty, big known successful teams. Only one time did I briefly consider joining a very top end team. It might have been good at that time.

A couple things to be weary of concerning team play. 1) is cheating and being cheated. This issue seems to occur to most teams at some point. 2.) and a very big issue for anyone that has any kind of real longevity plans is that team blackjack play can and often does really shorten your career. It exposes you. It can link you to other known advantage players. Some players running teams actually can't play much any more, so they recruit players and burn out their face an identity and then move on to recruit new players, leaving the player who burned his face/identity to do what?

So I always said if I got involved with team play it would be a very small team (partnership) with players that I knew personally and really trusted. Close friends or family members. My late partner, professional and personal, and I did a bit of blackjack team play, when we were out of town mostly. My little version of the call in approach. But I did it very out in the open, playing the role of father and son. I can talk about it now that he is gone. He would sit down and play, signaling me when count got strong, I would wonder over and say something about "let's go eat", he would respond "after this shoe". At that point I would say something like "well then at least bet some real money" and encourage him to bet big. And he would bet much larger. I'd say things like "you know you can't take it with you". Sometimes even floorperson or dealer would play along if I did it right, also encouraging him to bet more. Imagine that, sometimes the pit person was encouraging him to bet bigger on very positive counts. Yep I am pretty proud of that little variation.

So anyway, that was just an occasional thing, mostly out of town. My partner, had some health issues and couldn't sit comfortably a blackjack table for very long. (oddly sitting at a machine didn't bother him as much).

But two years ago, my younger brother and I teamed up. I had taught my brother what I do, he played a year solo at low stakes and in 2017, we teamed up playing higher stakes, my stakes. It worked well for those two years and I think we both benefited. Me because team play smooths out the ride, the variance, him because I was there to look after him and help him along the way. Unfortunately going into 2019, he decided he wanted to go back to the "lone wolf" route. I don't think it was the best decision on his part, but I respect it. And we share a condo, so I am still around to look after him, so to speak.

It really takes a few years, to experience all the different things. Backoffs, different heat, negative swings, go through a couple 3, 4, 5 months periods of losing. All the things I have tried to share along my way. So any newer player that has access to a more experienced player that has gone through these things, is better off.

Oh and by the way, I have refrained from talking too much about my brother and our team play on purpose. It is one thing for me to decide I want to share some of my experiences. But completely inappropriate for me to share too much concerning a partner that is still actively playing. That simply is not my choice to make. So I have mentioned little about our partnership and when I did something very general.

And now...off to work. Being Friday, I wanted to get out earlier today. Already behind "schedule".

As they say... fifty dollars here, a hundred there, and pretty soon you're talking real money.

Must you find fault with everything I post Alan? Isn't it bad enough there are people like Blackhole that argue everything I say, just because I say it.

Look what do you want me to say. I play 6-10 sessions a day. I record what I won, or think I won, pocket the chips, or cash if I am cashing out. At the end of the day, if the amount I have doesn't jive with what I started with +/- what I have recorded, then I made a mistake recording. It's not like I magically lost of found extra money. The mistake is in recording results, which I am sometimes doing on the fly. So I adjust results to what I actually have.

It is not as hard as you might think. Maybe I sit down at the table with $200 chips in hand. I start losing and pull out another $100. Then I win a bit and at the end of the second shoe, I get up with $650 in chips. I mistakenly mark down a $450 win, forgetting that I pulled that extra $100 out and the win was only $350. So when I get home I have wins of $450, $900, $1600 and losses of $400, $800 and $1000, thinking I have won $750 for the day. I count up the money and I only have $650 more than I started with. So I record my win for the day at $650, which it actually is.

How else would you suggest I do it Alan? And by the way, like I said, this does not occur very often. But if we are talking thousands of sessions a year, yeah, I record a few results wrong. But they money tells the truth.

How do you do it Allen? Small bills in my right pocket, large in my left. I get gas or breakfast at the beginning of the day or gas and groceries at the end of the day. My casino play is in between, so the difference is my daily profit/loss which I've forgotten by the time I go to sleep. Yes, I know how many sessions were won, lost, tied, and interrupted. But I'm not obsessed with it.
