Thread: Gambling Lies Come Around....And In Such A Righteous Way

  1. #41
Dealers aren't happy for extra hours. Damn near all of them sign the EO (Early Out) list before their shift start. Maybe Reno is the exception.

  2. #42
Why would most dealers usually sign the early out list?

    Don't they need the money?
    What, Me Worry?

Could be. I was quietly listening to the conversations on a recent snow day. Most were saying I'll stay, I'll stay. A better work environment may also have something to do with it too.

For such a smart guy who hangs out with gamblers and on gambling forums for years upon years...
You just don't get the Lifestyle or Vegas.

What I recall is seeing dealers bitch about not making enough money from salary and tips.

Given that, their foregoing income does not compute.

    Whatever, color me up.
    What, Me Worry?

When I dealt (at 2 different casinos), it was pretty common for dealers to:

    1. Bitch about how "little" they were getting in tips...even if someone just tipped them $15 in one hour, "it should have been $50". I've heard of a few cases where a dealer would refuse a tip because he only "accepts" higher than $1 tips or some dumb shit.
    2. Hate their job and customers. Part of it due to #1, because they feel they should be getting tipped more. The other part is that a lot (certainly not all) of gamblers, at least at local casinos, are just terrible people to have to deal to. They bitch and moan about everything, get mad at dealers for losing, and are overall just disrespectful to dealers.
    3. Love to sign the EO sheet as soon as possible. In some circumstances, the pit needs a certain amount of specific dealers to EO so they can close the right tables (not all dealers know roulette, pai gow, baccarat, and the different carnival games, and craps basically requires all 4 dealers to EO or none at all). So dealers may pressure other dealers to EO so they can all go home, so if one craps dealer wants to stay, they all have to stay....or if some specific dealer knows baccarat and wants to stay, then the other tables gotta stay open (because he needs a breaker).
    4. Of course, come pay day, they bitch about how hard the last 2 weeks were and they 'only' made $15 or $20 or $25 per hour. A few dealers would be asking around for $20 or $40 loan frequently....sometimes even just a few days after they got their check.
    5. I don't know what % of dealers would do this (IMO, about 40-50%, but for all dealers everywhere, I'd assume 25%?), would frequently go straight to the local bar, nearest casino, or if possible go to the bar at the casino they work at (some places you can play where you work, some you can't), get drunk, and play slots/keno/VP. Oh, and several would also bet on sports before/during/after their shift.

Of course, there were also dealers who would always stay and not sign the EO, unless for some rare specific reason. They wouldn't gamble before/after work. They just showed up on time, worked for 8 hours, and went home or did whatever else people do when they aren't working. They wouldn't bitch and moan about getting such small tips, because they knew at the end of the 2 weeks, they were going to get somewhere between $18-22/hr on their paycheck. And they'd thank every person who gave them a tip and actually genuinely appreciated it....at least they weren't bitching in the employee dining room.

Unfortunately, the former far outweighed the latter.

Thanks for an excellent and informative post RS. I think most of the dealers I play fall into this category. But I only play at the better casinos and higher limit tables. Quite a few husband and wife teams just trying to earn a living. Good folks.

Dealers. I wouldn't know about players. Sometimes the cocktail waitress is married to the pit boss. The guy in charge of guest services is dating the deli manager. The bartender is married to the lady at the cashiers cage. Some work the same shift. Others, that have kids work rotating shifts. It's probably something the average person doesn't think about in a casino.

I too want to thank you for this outstanding report RS_. It matches my view of most dealers that I observe but is great to get a view from a "former".

I have always said most dealer and I think pit as well are just "working Joe's". They just want to put in their time and get through their day with as little hassle as possible, just like any other working man. A player, playing this cat and mouse game that we are forced to play, should keep that in mind, as that is a key to longevity. Don't rock the boat. Don't force either of these groups, dealers or pit to have to do extra work...if you know what I mean.

I very much enjoyed Scott Cameron's board about and for casino dealers: dicedealer.com.

Entertaining, informative, yet no longer around.

It's Sat. night before the Super Bowl, and I see I was right yet again. Just the mere EXISTENCE of such an utterly horrifying and undeniably true article about so-called poker pros--and by default, self-proclaimed AP's--going broke, has brought out the expected, if not predicted, bevy of deflections, denials, and THANK GOODNESS, RIGHT? the ultimate installation of it into the rear view mirror.

Who has it hurt the most? Well, I'd say it's a toss-up between Dan, and who else....kew! While we all know kew is a casino, blackjack, and forums addict of the first order, his "adjustments" to try to convince that his life of virtual reality on these forums is first and foremost to radiate a perception that his "success" is second to none, it's "real" and by golly he's gonna force that load of crap down everyone on the internet's throats come hell or high water....there was absolutely no way on earth he was gonna give that article a CHANCE to give anyone a doubt about his "winning" coming before his neediness. And no kew, I didn't write that article.

And of course we have Dan, who has been unable to play for a 7-Stars renewal even though I offered him a free home to stay in while he played dollar 9/6 ddbp five-play at ak-chin recently, jump right on and explain how "it's dem other guys, not me who's broke!" because of "good money management". And why has he never married.....

So here's the thing: I've got the $2000 bet on NE tomorrow at -1.5. Go Pats! If I win, Dan can ban me, because heaven knows he never, ever wants to let another article like this slip thru the cracks again. Face-saving ain't his or kew's thing, and the damage control app is clean out of steam. And who wants to be subjected to more annoying "I already knew this, and you should know a two-bit gambling junkie like me is well aware of that" bs?

However, if I lose the bet then I am gone. I'm too busy enjoying myself stealing electricity, water, wi-fi, and siphoning gasoline and diesel anyways. And besides, I quit professional gambling in 2009 and up nearly $1million at the time for a reason. My age...and I really don't like anything about the idiotic smokers, foolish alcoholics, and all the disgusting fat asses and welfare check-spending white trash and minorities--and ESPECIALLY the irritating, smelly Asians--that most casinos are full of.

Someone here said this place is a cesspool, and he was right. I see no reason to keep on reading the phony or has been hobo-gambling nonsense mickey keeps enthralling you losers with. Nor do I see why the rest of you are so infatuated with the goofy little story kew keeps on perpetuating about himself....unless you're the type that likes fairy tales. He is just so easy to see thru.

At the final bell, this place will be known as where all the ridiculous bleeding heart WoVers came to get away from that failed AP and humiliated wizard. It pains me some to say that about him because he has far more going for him, OBVIOUSLY, than any of the unintelligent miscreant gambler and libtard/bored and boring to death, bs artists that grace this joint. Alan and I are the only ones to ever have posted $100,000 winners here, and it's because we're the only one capable of playing such high limits. Blackhole also no doubt has that capability. And who are the 3 most hated individuals to have contributed here?

Think about it. And GO PATS!!!! (again)

Good of you to stop in and grace us with your eloquence Rob. You sound like me after I watched the 2 NFL Champ games at your old stompin grounds. BTW, there is always not-so-hidden value in other sports 2 or 3 days before the Super Bowl. If you were headed here I hope you beat the storm. But if you did make it, your mood isn't going to get much better on your surroundings tomorrow.

Only addicts and stupid people bet more money when losing. For every 100k royal they hit, they lost 10 times that amount. Wise the fuck up!!

"Singer's" posting of this article and his subsequent rant are just silly.

    1) The article is about poker players. Nowhere does the author discuss advantage players. "Singer's" entire argument that follows is based on the ridiculous premise that "poker player" and "advantage player" are synonyms. They are not. "Poker player," in fact is almost an antonym of "advantage player." Poker players are handicapped by a house take in tournaments, by dealer tipping in tournaments, by travel and meal expenses. Non-tournament poker players are dealing with an almost unbeatable house rake. If one does "rake math," one quickly figures out how daunting the rake is. While poker players may win in private games without house rake, or at casino tables where they are renting the table/dealer by the hour for high stakes games, actual tournament or casino cash games feature brutal disadvantages. They are the opposite of advantage plays. Daniel Negreanu, who may know a bit more about poker and the house take than "Singer," has been quoted as saying that the poker player who can make a living playing tournaments is as rare as a bird with teeth. To repeat, "poker player" and "advantage player" are more antonyms than synonyms. For all but the very best poker players, the game is massively negative EV. And there is doubt whether tournament play is positive EV for much of anyone. There's a reason ESPN puts "WSOP Winnings" as gross, not net, when they introduce the players.

    2) The article itself, which I repeat is NOT about advantage players, is banal and obvious. It is so banal that it's banal to point out that it's banal. Anybody who knows gambling or Las Vegas isn't surprised by anything in the article. You know it's not terribly informative when you could substitute the phrase "professional football player" for "poker player" and write the same article.

    3) "Singer's" 100K claim is incorrect.

Thanks Moses--I had a very good year with my NFL bets. However, it had to happen. Not only are these misguided AP idiots here mortified by the shockingly true article attached to this thread--it awakened con man redietz to put on his usual display of hate and envy. I just wish next season began NOW so I could show up and irritate the collection of losers here just a little bit more.

On a side note, ever notice how said "collection" can't live without labeling blackhole all types of names as well as a broken down gambler, how they constantly lie about Alan having nothing at all until "the first of the month when he gives it all away to Stations, and how my wins, homes, and RV's "really ain't real because I'm busted and bankrupt"?

That's why I chose to stay and get under AP-skin all these years. Nothing like rubbing salt into their wounds And does it get any more satisfying that watching redietz keep mentioning my real name while claiming (twice....obviously because no one cared about his bs the first time around) the pic I put up of one of my $100k wins was "incorrect" since these fools couldn't stand it? It's right there on page 17 of the "Pictures of Wins and Jackpots" thread....where even broke poker pro Dan needed to suggest I lurked in high limit rooms to take pictures, or I photographed the $25 insignia/$100,000 jackpot words somehow. It is envy only a mother--and me--could love!

So I depart as I throw Singer & Patriot mud into the faces of anyone here who doubted them and my sportsbetting prowess once again. The Eagles were a fluke last yr. as we saw proven this year. That shithole city will never see another major sports championship.

It's been a good time hurting AP's. I also loved watching RS__, a pauper ex dealer, try to make believe he made it to the promise land. No wonder he believes storyteller mickey.!!
