Thread: Caesars to finally open a casino in Northern California (Harrah's Buena Vista)

  1. #1
Caesars has the United States fairly well covered, but the Pacific states are one of their big "holes".

They do have a property in northern San Diego County (Harrah's Rincon aka Harrah's Resort SoCal), but that's it.

Nothing north of that in California.

    Nothing in Oregon.

    Nothing in Washington.

They do have Harrah's and Harvey's Lake Tahoe, which are right next to the California border, but these properties are too far for most Bay Area players to visit regularly, and also require slow mountain driving.

This year, they will be opening Harrah's Buena Vista: https://www.casino.org/news/caesars-...ear-sacramento

It is southeast of Sacramento, in the small town of Ione. It is just 114 miles from San Francisco, which should bring a lot of Bay Area players, the same way Harrah's Rincon scored a lot of the Los Angeles area players.

There are not many details about it released yet.

Here's a picture of the outside with a short description:

Unhappily for them they have to partner with an Indian tribe in order to do it.

According to the developer, Wilmorite, the target opening date is May 1, 2019 and the cost of this project is 168M. The casino will open and the hotel will be added on.
This is a great addition for central/northern Californians who are Total Rewards members.

According to Harrah's Northern California's Facebook page the casino's grand opening is May 17-19th.

Im local and heard this one the PFA show and we dont need anymore casinos in Nor Cal. There are enough casinos and Red Hawk is close by and there is the Wilton Indian property going up at Highway 99 south of Elk Grove. Too many casinos saturating the Nor Cal area.

Looks like the Harrahs casino in Northern California will be open April 29th as that is when this free play offer I received in the mail begins. However, I don't see any room offers associated.

Their website states the opening is April 29th at 4:29 pm. Not sure what the significance of the date and time selected. Hotel to be built at a later time.

The grand opening weekend, May 17-19 will have a lot going on including drones performing that Saturday night! Check their website for details.

Have not received anything in the mail even though I play at a lot of Caesars properties.

So has anyone been to this Harrahs Northern California yet? How is the Video Poker schedules? I understand that true dice craps is illegal in California, do they have card craps and how is it played? Is all their Blackjack 3:2? Anything else of note at this place?

I was in that area for work last week and checked it out. It is nice but it is very small (for a CA indian casino) it also in a bad location as its a beast of drive down narrow winding country roads, i wouldnt drive there at night.

The way it stands now will probably end up being more of a locals place as people from the bay area and Sacramento have larger more closer and conveinent options and i cant see them going there other than once to check it out even with the Ceasars rewards. Also check out the reviews on google and yelp. Its getting blasted.

Sorry didnt look at the table games or VP in detail just did a quick walk through.

October they are opening a Hard Rock casino 30 miles north of Sacramento and next year the are opening a large Indian casino in Elk Grove, about 20 miles south of Sacramento that iirc is partnered with Boyd gaming. (May be wrong on that)

These two I believe will be much more signficant and I dont think the Harrahs based on what I saw is going to be a big player due to small size and bad location.

Oh and no hotel either and since its in the middle of nowhere not much other lodging in the vicinty except at its competitor Jackson Rancheria 15 minutes away.

Thanks for the heads up. It looks like on Google someone posted an image of the card craps. Repeater bets. My least favorite bonus type bet of craps.

Went to Harrah's Northern California yesterday for the first time.

The road was fine if only one lane each way. But rather than blindly follow GPS directions, you should follows traffic signs and use broad and well paved Buena Vista Road.

The blackjack I saw looked 3:2 payouts. The card craps on that Sunday afternoon was $5 min with 10 times odds. No Bubble Craps.

The video poker sucks: By way of example, 6/5 Bonus Poker (150 on all quads), 8/5 Double Bonus Poker, 6/5 JOB. Bunch of Chinese style penny video slots.

Free fountain soft drinks were nice.

No rooms or reason to go there but to gamble at tables.

A team of AP plays here ... it’s the same team that hustle the Aruze Bubble Craps throughout Reno & Tahoe area & high limit VP promotions at Cache Creek. They hustle low IQ promo’s.

They are what we call dim-witted AP’s but have money to burn. Even Cache Creek knows they are AP’s but let them play because Cache Creek makes money off this team during the promo. And to show you guys how dim-witted this team is, they play the 5th best VP opportunity during the Cache Creek promo ... the best game is like 5 feet away from them but they don’t know it. The Cache Creek reporter for vpfree2.com told this to me personally.

Here is another example: after Red Hawk fixed a glitch in the Bubble Crap, it was allowing Free Play through the machine, the dim wits played Bally’s SD Video BJ to run through their Free Play but Bally’s was H17 while the IGT machines with S17 and similar rules were just 15 feet away. Btw, Red Hawk casino cut the team off.

Last month in December, Harrah’s in Ione had a promo where you get free play (no cap on FP) on Fridays. This tall white guy wearing glasses and a female partner were banging away on 3-Play 7/5 DSTP BP at $21 a hand in the new “high limit” section. The game was worth 98.5% and say 1% from the promo.

Harrah’s in Ione is hurting for business with the casino being full on Saturday’s and whenever they run promo’s.

Bellwethers of the economy. Now Cache Creek will pick you up in a luxury bus and give you $20 in free play (so that you can then vulture the fuck out out of them until the bus departs the casino) for $10:

    From Harrah’s website:

    “ MARTELL'S TOURS/ HARRAH'S NORCAL BUS SERVICE

LOOK BELOW TO SEE WHAT DAYS THE BUS VISITS YOUR AREA.

Take the Martell Bus from your neighborhood pick up location and get $40 free slot play every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

    Price: $10 per person”

It used to be $50 Free Play on Tuesday’s.

    https://www.caesars.com/harrahs-nort...transportation

Nothing to vulture at Cache Creek Monday to Wednesday as it is a ghost town. Maybe something on Thur & Sun; Bonus Hustler convention on Fri & Sat (very easy to make $1K a night if you know what you are doing). Why do you think Hard Rock is p*ssed off with the Cache Creek Bonus Hustlers.

Harrah’s is dead except for Fri & Sat and Jackson is p*ssed off at Harrah’s Bonus Hustlers.
