How long does it take without activity for rewards programs to lose your info and treat you as a new player again?

Thinking particularly of Total Rewards, B connected, Margaritaville, El Dorado, etc.

Most of them never "lose your info". I had one which I hadn't touched since 2002, and they denied me a new card because they found me in their system in 2017!

However, after about 18 months of inactivity, you are considered a semi-new player. That is, you don't get the same offers as a new player, but they're still much better than the typical existing player.

By "inactivity", I mean the card is not used at all. That means you don't use it for parking, food, hotel, etc. Just put it in a drawer and forget about it. Oh, and you also shouldn't stay in the hotel under your own name during that time, nor should you book anything through a host.

I signed up at Magic City Casino in like 2013 and used my card very sparingly and stayed away from MCC for over a year and in 2018 they treated me like a brand new Players. They said that Accounts become inactive after non activity for a year. Theirs is a different System from Mardi Gras Casino that actually changed their name to The Big Easy and I hadn't been to Mardi Gras/The Big Easy Casino in over a year and they still had my info intact. Drats. I was hoping that they had the same "Inactive for a year or over means new account as MCC so I could get free free play like I did the first time. MCC told me that if I signed up, I would get $15 free play if I earned 15 points($ 75 coin in) and had to do it the same day. A far cry from the FREE $50 I got from Casino Miami for signing up .

That kind of sucks, cause a few years ago I was a massively low roller player and thus couldn't fully take advantage of the new player bonuses, and now they are lost to me forever :feelsbadman:

If you let the 18 months pass, you can probably get offers about 50-80% as good as a new player, which is still pretty good.

In the 80's I signed up for a players card and got rated and received and used comps at the Tropicana in Vegas. I never played there again for about 25 years. During that time Tropicana went through a few ownership changes and they then were offering a new player loss rebate and I was able to sign up. This was the only time I have had a casino lose my records and treat me as a new player. Then again, for all I know they used to keep records on index cards or computer punch cards those days.

One of the things I have learned is not to sign up for any new casino's players club unless there is an especially attractive promo or I am prepared to give good initial action which may prompt some generous teaser offers. Those tourist book writers who tell gambling dabblers to "get a card before you play anywhere" provide some bad advice.

Last year I lost my Diamond status because they dropped my buffet offers and free play dropped to an all time low.and I lost incentive other than playing my free play and then cashing out and going to the other casino and playing my free play and dining with buffet offers. Every now and then my free play would produce some nice winners and consequently my play would increase. 11 months later I was shocked to receive my Diamond status again. My conclusion? Take care of your bankroll despite the pressure of the casino and the "status" will come. Strangely, as Dan said, the offers barely increased and with the exception of not having to earn tier credits to receive some offers, I don't feel I missed much since I never use the hotel stays.

Alan, I didn't read all your post,.however I seen that you mentioned the Trop, That's one of the places that have me as a customer since the 90's. I was thinking about that place when he asked the question. I think that was mainly because hey had that $200 loss rebate for so many years. RIP that promo. It was way better that people thought.

I noticed that sometimes online casinos for which I have an account would still send me a new player welcome bonus e-mail as click-bait, knowing full well I already have an account there - bit off topic, but thought that was an interesting ploy.

In December when the wife and I were staying in the Wynn, we walked over to the Palazzo and put in a couple of hours of action on her card. We hadn't stepped foot in the place for about five years and the offers had long dried up. Subsequently, recently my wife started getting April 2019 offers at the Venetian/Palazzo for three nights in their "suites" plus $250 free play, and nights with entries in two April $150,000 slot tournaments. So one can certainly revive offers.
