Btw, I don't mind this thread getting derailed as long as the insults are somewhat entertaining.

Moses, this was the advice you gave me on ZenZone to improve my HiLo game for DD:

"Try this. Exchange the tags of the 2 with the 7. Add .5 to the 5 and -.5 to the 9. Also add 14vs10 to your Sweet Sixteen. I've already done the work and it is a simple short move that WILL improve your game considerably and will totally fuck with the EITS counting along using HiLo. It's only a suggestion from a result of my tons hours in study. But check it out. I'm fairly certain your SCORE will soar with very little additional effort extended."

I get where you're coming from, and it makes sense. Question: What index number do you use for 14 vs 10? Do you do any side counting of 7s for this play. I have no problem side counting 7s for DD if this helps me. It seems like the 14 vs 10 comes up a lot and I'd like to know how to play this hand better.

    Thanks!

Go ahead dbs and get everything that you need out of Moses while the getting is good. Then when you have all the info that you want, you can lay low for the right moment when he is not looking and rip out a pound of flesh from him like you are accostomed to doing, and follow up with I thought you were completely stupid on that one Moses, after all we cannot agree on everything. Besides you did not know it was me anyway for a whole two months as I was using another alias, hoping not to upset you.
Again, do we have a translator in the house? Lol. I’m sure bobo is trying to make a point, but I can’t figure it out.

I think bobo is still upset I’m Bob21 here and dbs over on BJTF. I have a feeling bobo will probably never be able to get over this. It’s really affecting his life. I hope BOBO is able to get help. He needs it!

Btw, kJ look at this post. I’m glad bobo resurrected it. It’s my first post here where I was asking Moses a question on his count. And you chimed in. Do you see this post as a troll post?

OK, I re-read this post as requested. It is just plain dumb. Why is it the clowns that want to side count or otherwise incorporate the "7" into their count, always throw up the example of a rather obscure hand of 14 vs dealer 10. One particular hand, of very low frequency, knowing that there is a tremendous disparage in the number of 7's depleted, might make the very slightest bit of difference. This would amount to a penny an hour. And the mistakes made, even a single mistake, would cost 100 times that. And when you start assigning half values you are assured to make mistakes.

I mean what is next, are you going to side count "8's" which have even less value and effect of removal of almost zero, because occasionally, you get a hand of 13 vs dealer 10 and knowing there are "extra" 8's might mean, a extra penny every 8 hours?

You guys are freaking retarded (no offense to the mentally challenged}. This stuff has all been settled by the top blackjack mathematicians, and confirmed by computer simulations. There is diminishing returns at play. VERY diminishing returns. I don't know why you pro-count people want to go back and re-argue concepts that were settled in the 80's. These things had little value then with better games, and even less now, with worse games.

Bob21 or whatever your handle is here, you know that GWAE interview that I listened to the other night when you tricked me into doing so by using a different handles to hide who you were?

Do you remember the thread I started about an interesting comment made by Colin, when asked about the value of so called stronger counts? Colin said "every player that he knows that made any kind of real money did so playing hi-lo". To which Munchkin replied "me too". Let me add my own "me too".

So I have 2 questions for you? How many players do you know that have made any kind of real money playing the counts you are proponents of?

And #2, how much have YOU made playing a non-Hi-lo, so called more advanced count?

I am trusting you to be honest. Don't make me regret it.

When did Moses get un-banned? How come it says banned by his name? Somebody banned still posting, almost as good as parting the red sea.

I for one am glad to see Moses has a second chance. Now Moses behave yourself.

What are you talking about. This thread (and all replies by Moses) are 3 weeks old. It just got a bump today by Bosox.

Right, I didn't check the dates. I thought it was a new post.

Hey KewlJ or SpiderMan, or whatever handle or sock puppet you’re using on this site, yes I did listen to the GWAE podcast. And yes, I heard what Colin and Mutchkin said. I agree with them but I have no real life experience to know if this is true.

I have met a couple Blackjack Apprenticeship alumina and none of them had made any money counting. They are pretty easy to spot. They play with no cover and spread big. They could just as well come to the casino with a T-shirt that says I’m a card counter and I learned my trade at BJA.

True story: About two years ago, I met one at one of local casinos. He seemed like a nice but misguided counter. He obviously had everybody at the table pissed off because of the way he played. I followed him to the bathroom and asked him if he was a member of BJA. He confirmed he was and told me his handle. We later met up for dinner outside the casino and he told me his story. Again, good kid, but misguided. He was from the east coast and decided he was going to fly all over United States making his millions being a weekend big time counter. That weekend he lost about $5,000. He flew to Vegas a couple weekends later and lost $8,000; flew some other places and lost big too. I texted him a month ago and he told me he’s busted out, losing about $24,000. He’s right now working and building a new bankroll.

I’ve also met some people from Reymo’s discord and they also aren’t doing too good. One has been doing this for two years and uses the haves count and hasn’t made any money. The other uses Hilo and also is a net loser. He’s lost about $7,000 so far.

So I can’t really say I know many people who’ve made any money at this, except the ones I hear on GWAE. That’s why when I hear stories like Joes, winning $400,000 his first year, my bullshit meter starts pegging out. Especially when he said he played a dealer that dealt 700 rounds per hour. Anything could be true, but his story sounded like it was on the side of emblishment, to say the least.

With all this said, I do believe counting works and people have made money at it, but probably not as much as they claim. There is a reason Colin started BJA and has $3,000 bootcamps. There’s a lot more money to be made selling the dream of being a high roller counter, than actually doing it.

As for me, I enjoy the game. It’s a nice relaxing way to spend the weekend, and I have made some money at it, but not much. I’m just a low roller that hasn’t learned how to embish my story yet. I know that’s part of being a true AP. As I’m sure you know, many of Ken Uston’s (the legend himself) teammates didn’t believe his stories. On GWAE, none of them speak well of him and thought his stories were exaggerated.

Going forward which handle should I address you with since you’ve had so many? Also, where can I get that AP book on ethics? If it’s out there, it’s got to be one of the most screwed up books ever written.

    BUMP

JSTAT on casinos, poker, and blackjack/baccarat card counting without charge. Saying what needs to said at https://twitter.com/Casino_Examiner

  11. #31
Are you STILL at this bullshit J-STAT?

The small, rather insignificant error, was long ago acknowledged by Braun. It changes nothing. ZERO. IT changes very little because the the cards involved are neutral in Hi-Lo and have a very small removal value. So small that HI-LO doesn't track them. Again, this small error is completely irrelevant. Every blackjack Math expert has told you it is irrelevant and yet you have been harping on it for over a decade.

At the beginning of the 90's I was in grade school, By the end of the 90's I was in High Scholl. So yes, THIS successful card counter made no money from card counting in the 90's. But I have done well post 90's....and despite this teeny tiny error that you are obsessed with that has zero impact on anything.

Yes, I am quite sure YOU are the only card counter that made any money in the 90's. So much so that you quit your government postal job and played blackjack professionally right. Oh, my mistake. You continued to deliver the mail everyday THAT decade and the next until you reached retirement.

Generally I wouldn't use that against anyone as despite that I am a professional blackjack player, in this day and age, there are few that are. It's a hard road to hoe. Anyone interested, I recommend a supplemental thing like you did in the 90's or an even better situation is someone retired, with retirement income using blackjack to supplement their income. But since you brought it up, will you share just what amount you made through blackjack card counting in the 90's? (when no other card counter made any money). BTW, what an absurd statement. The 90's was still part of the "golden years". Most serious card counters did well. I only wish I had been playing in the 90's.

I am sure the Max and Munch appreciate your promotion of the Blackjack Ball and Hall of Fame. As I posted back in January, I had lunch with two high ranking members of that "club" as blackhole likes to call it while they were in town for the BJ Ball. Possibly even one of the names mentioned. Had I known you were feeling snubbed, I could have put in a good word for you, although frankly since that meeting was in reference to rehabilitating my image, which isn't currently great among the older BJHoF membership, I probably wouldn't have been doing you any favors. It would be like Roger Clemens recommending someone for the baseball Hall of fame.

But anyway, rest assured that should I decide to completely change who I am, as suggested, so as to gain entry into a "club" that I do not seek, my very first order of business will be to recommend you.
