Thread: St Patricks Day

  1. #1
I was reading the St Patrick's Day thread by Boz at WoV and wanted to reply to him by Pm, but he is either not receiving PM's or has deleted his account here.

Boz asked who doesn't love St Patrick's Day. I always did. Being Irish, and someone who enjoys beer, how could I not. Plus most years St Patrick's day falls on the first weekend of March Madness of which I am a big college basketball fan in general (Villanova specifically), especially that first weekend, hoping for those David vs goliath upsets. So that tied in nicely with the fun (I have no idea why March madness starts a week late this year).

St Patrick's Day was also my late partner's Birthday, just adding to our reason to have fun and get toasted. So naturally, this being the first St Patrick's day since he passed last April, I am missing him, but rather than sitting around feeling sad, I am heading out with friends and going to celebrate and have fun and get drunk in his honor and memory.

For those that haven't been to Vegas on St Patricks day, it really is a lot of fun (and drinking of course).

    Happy St Patrick's Day everyone.

Funny thing about St Patricks day, I was recently reading how the Irish (in Ireland) only recently began celebrating St Patrick's Day. For all the years that we celebrated it here in the states, it wasn't anything over there until very recently. Odd.

Just another bogus religious holiday where people pretend to be something they're not (pretending they're Irish. I am by the way.) all in the name for a lousy reason to get drunk and stupid.

That's my Rob Singer rant o' the day.

    Thanksgiving wants to sell Turkeys.
St. Patricks Day wants to sell Corned Beef.
Do you watch Fireworks on the 4th of July or New Years Eve?

One would think you would complain about kewlJ constantly starting bogus threads?
Especially after he attacks Mendleson calling him a Shyster again after he said he wouldn't call him a Shyster.
So instead kewlJ just starts thread after thread that are one in the same as what Mendleson posts.
You just want to cry about something to do with Religion once again.
Even though Religion has been a part of society for over 4000 years.

    Who's crying? Certainly not me.

As for religion being around that long. That's just how stupid humans are.

Where, I come from St Patrick's Day is known for its late season blizzard. We were fortunate this year that it came mostly in the form of rain.

Corned beef $1.47 a pound. I only bought twelve because I have to watch my diet. (I need to watch my boyish figure)

St. Patrick's Day is huge in Butte, Montana. The hotels sell out, big parade, everyone getting drunk. I'm somewhat qualified as DNA tests show I'm 25% Irish. To bad I don't drink anymore.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

Almost forgot. I hit a bar/casino today that I hadn't been in for awhile. I found a few juicy plays and tagged them for $660. In between plays I had the corn beef and cabbage they provided for free to their customers. So even though no booze the C & C was excellent. Booked an $1157 win for the day. St. Paddy's Day has been pretty good to me. No complaints.
