Thread: What Does Everyone Think About the 2020 Presidential Candidates

No other explanation for "accountingquestion's" irritability and straw-grabbing than he had his sensitive little heart broken in a big way today by a mumbling, fumbling, ineffective old man who seemingly had no idea what was in the report he supposedly wrote.

Today's hearing was just another great big gift to America. These irrelevant snitty little libtards who troll the internet with democrat lies, make it the gift that never stops.

    Hahahahahahaha!!!

You act like he is the only one concerned about the future. Well, most of the world was realized global warming is not some bullshit made up by "leftists". It is a serious problem (the most serious) that will continue to get worse having catastrophic issues. (Want to talk about immigration issues we have now, just wait.....) Yet, Trump actively tries to fuck up what little efforts are being made to mitigate that. Pure evil. This holier than thou shit about who cares more doesn't really resonate with me.

I could make another argument about inflation and what expectations are, but that'd mean I'd need to research all this to figure out exactly what you're discussing and CLEARLY that isn't worth the effort.
Here, I'll do the math for you, numnuts. The Dems propose 10% growth in a departments budget from the previous year, the repubs only want to go 5%. Whether the department gets 10% or just 5% the budget will be larger (growth) than the previous year. But the Dems use that scenario to accuse the repubs of wanting to cut spending. But nothing is going to be cut from the previous years budget. It's actually going to grow, either 5% or 10% depeding on who gets their way. It's that 5% difference the Dems are calling "Cutting Spending." Its called LYING WITH STATISTICS!
I am not going to argue for the sake of arguing like you are, but I can assure you I can do "the math" and everything else you are conveying. I only wish it was reciprocal. Anyway, still a fan Micky - you curmudgeon.

In the grand scheme of things, I still don't get how this is an important point. EVERYONE knows Republicans want to cut spending. Am I wrong? Is it even propaganda?

I don't understand the vagaries of federal budgets. I do know US government prints money and thus devalues it every year. You could increase the $ amount, yet still shrink the budget. It makes this whole discussion kinda pointless to me. If you're holding this up as your big example of the mainstream media's propaganda "Republicans want to cut government spending" then you've likely missed the bus many times in your life.
I make one point and you think I'm holding it up as the big example. Idiot. My big point is to much socialism is not good for the country. The biggest long term threat this country faces is the far left. They've got all the schoolkids brainwashed. Twenty years down the road those same kids are gonna be bitching about how hard they have to work and how much taxes they have to pay. Look at the European welfare states. No upward mobility. If you're born on the bottom you stay on the bottom. That's what the Yellow Vests are all about.

The resident libtards over at WoV are all ecstatic over Mueller's testimony today. They think Mueller nailed Trump. Somebody should tell those braindead idiots to read some reviews of his testimony. Even democrats are saying Mueller's testimony was a trainwreck that's backfired on democrats.

Not surprising Mickey. People are going to believe what they want to be true. Those on the left that have glommed onto the “Trump not exonerated by Mueller” meme don’t understand American jurisprudence.
It was very painful to watch today though, and I even at times felt myself having sympathy for Mueller. But then I snapped out of it and reminded myself that he kept this charade going waaay to long, as in he should have been wrapped up before the midterm elections. The house might not have flipped.

I hate to admit it, but that is how Mueller came across to me. It is time for Congress to do its job and impeach the SOB. I said it before and will say it again. We don't need anymore old men running the country. We need somebody young and full of energy.

Mickey, you're completely wrong on this. There are entire fields of research devoted to social mobility. It's an established, well-researched science. The US is "inelastic," as they call it, compared to peer countries in terms of social mobility. The UK and Italy are worse than the US; almost everyone else -- Canada, Japan, Denmark, Spain, Germany, Australia, Finland, New Zealand -- are all better than the US.

When it comes to multi-generational mobility, measuring how many generations it takes for a family to reach average per capita, the US scores better, but it is still dead in the middle of the western world.

The US is actually poor compared to other western democracies when it comes to social mobility. And social mobility overall, in all western countries combined, has stalled since the 1990's. It's not improving.

Redietz, I see you've joined right in with the libtard baboons in the Trump threads at WoV. You fit right in. Babs is digging it for sure. Great post by Steverinos? You may think Mueller can hide behind his military service but I don't. It's no frickin' excuse for his reprehensible behavior. Marines all over the country are disgusted with him for trying to frame the POTUS. Mueller is a piece of shit.

Not really a supposition, mickey. Certainly not MY supposition.

Do your own research, mickey. You have library access. You can either decide hundreds of researchers writing thousands of papers over decades know their subject matter better than you know the subject matter, or you can decide you know the subject matter better than they do. That's for you to decide. Nobody's asking you to buy anything. The question is, when you google the material or read the journals, are you going to be able to change your mind? I don't care if you do or you don't. I just pointed out, as a friend, that you're wrong about something. If you want to continue to believe that your personal gathering of anecdotal information and reading outweighs the hundreds of professional researchers, that's your decision. It's my job, as your friend and someone who respects you, to point out that you are wrong. If you prefer to think you're correct, so be it. I did my job.

I gave the same argument for years to Alan Mendelson. Either the math professionals knew their stuff, or he did. Two plus two and all that.

Here we go, for those wanting to dip a toe into the research. It's worth repeating that the UK does worse in social mobility than the US:

    https://www.epi.org/publication/usa-...ries-mobility/

    https://www.theguardian.com/society/...ed-since-1990s

    https://www.gov.uk/government/public...mobility-index

My late wife had a doctorate in anthropology and a doctorate in demography. Demographers study this (among many other things) from a historical perspective and in the present.

As usual, I suggest nobody mistake me for an expert, in this case a social mobility expert. Dial up your local university and consult a professional sociologist or demographer if you want to learn about social mobility reality and myths. They can point you to better current readings and data.

When you have a president who's done extraordinary things with our booming economy, who's obliterated unemployment more than anyone in the last 50 years, who's helped millions of minorities get back to work, who presides over the largest number of people working in our country's history, and who has grown the stock market to enormous and almost unbelievable heights--thereby adding trillions of dollars of wealth to American's personal accounts--it's delusional to make believe such a talented and truly amazing person will not get re-elected in 2020....thereby continuing to drive his nutjob critics straight up that never ending wall.

Face it libs--fight Trump and you will not sleep at night. Ignore his achievements and risk missing out on celebrating your unique privilege of having been alive during this incredible man's leadership years. And believe conspiracy theorist Rachel Maddow and find yourself as disturbed and constantly defeated as she is.

Enjoy the many, many wins delivered to us during these amazing Trump years!

Weather is "cyclical" obviously. Yea, we have something called seasons and so forth. That doesn't mean everything is cyclical. Stupid logic fallacy. You can look at the graphs and look at the amount of literature from past 20-30 years telling us what was going to happen is happening. I really wish I was wrong.

What's happening that hasn't been happening right along?
The funny thing is, you guys can fall back on the cyclic argument to make yourselves feel better. If something is going up, it is just part of a cycle. If it is going down, thats just part of the cycle.

To this day, I've never met a climate change denier who does not have a heavy political bias.

I will tell you what has changed. Google "heat records broken" and you'll see how we're constantly breaking heat records. I had numerous hits that were literally less than an hour old. I didn't go cherry pick anything either. I hope you can see how breaking all time high records consistently is not part of a "cycle".

Liberals get confused when they say "climate change deniers" (remember when these weirdos called it "global warming deniers"?). I believe everyone agrees there is constant climate change occurring. What people don't agree on is how much is due to being "caused by MN an". There's plenty of scientific proof going both ways in this. As usual, the sensible arguments always favor the ones who don't believe man has much to do with it.

You didn't answer my question. A record hot or cold temp. is always being broken somewhere which is why they're called records. What's new about that?

I never said anything about a "cycle" weather wise. Who in their right mind would say that climate locally or globally doesn't change?

The rate of the records being changed. Sorry it isn't obvious. I could go dig up some study but you'd say it was liberal propaganda or some shit. So just do a simple google search.. I guess they're all in on it. <eyeroll>

We've had records going back many many decades now. Records shouldn't be changing that often.

THey have been talking about global warming for decades now. Everything has been playing out like expected. This is not some random nature cycle. (it was renamed climate change simply because it is not consistenly warming up every spot on the Earth and that kept being coughed up as counter-evidence.) It is global warming.

I don't see global warming as a political thing. Stupid people just can't get over their biases and see what is plainly obvious.

To say Trump is looking out for the future is a bit misleading. He's just pandering to fools and feeble-minded types.
Humankind and most organisms will pay the price when things start to get really out of whack. Right now it is just beginning to start. Of course, this issue will never help Trump become elected and thats what his narcissism craves. He wants to be a winner and not a loser like he sees you guys.

I'm not even against the tariff stuff, I just don't think consumers should pay higher taxes on their products, then have it turned around and redistributed to farmers. No one is guaranteed the job by the government. In this regard, i'm actually more conservative than you guys who agree with eveerything in this paragraph.

I'm not against some of the immigration stuff. I just think Trump is awful as far as a leader. He's racist, that is not deniable. It was the first racist statement he made that made me decide there is no fucking way he should be President and I've stood behind that.
