I'm still traveling. Before I even get into this meet up thing I just want to say. There are many other qualified AP's on here who deal with VP. There should be, I taught them everything THEY know
.
I have no doubt MC is as good at VP as the best of them. I am guessing he is more fugal when it comes to playing High variance low percentage machines than I am. Nothing wrong with that. I'm way more cautious and fugal than many others I know. You will rarely ever see me playing any VP seriously that's under 1%. Even at 2% it better be solid, like cash(free play) back or something like that.
I have no doubt there are many players better than me. I have seen guys that are better than me at many things. I wouldn't trade their brain, problems and life with mine. Especially the ones that have social and many other problems. Life is beautiful and I am happy being me. I'm not jealous of people who are better than me at anything, as a matter of fact, I want to get to know them and learn. You will find out that when approached the correct way and they know you can be trusted, people want and love to teach others what they know.
The one thing I did differently than most of the VP players in the past was not go the the most obvious games like 9/6/ - 10/7 etc. I might not even think VP was the best route to go period when it comes to promotions. Higher paying machines such as 9/6 don't always = the best percentages/ hourly /EV. My main goal was to always find the highest EV with the least amount of risk. Ill take $100 an hour playing a .25 machine over $150 an hour $25 machine. I just know I will usually come up with something others didnt think of.
There is on small example: (Dancer wrote about the Rio Cash is king promotion in his book, so I don't mind talking about it a little, I won't give out all the details or tell the entire story. Promo: Any $25 hit on a machine got you a scratch ticket with various cash values $5, $10, $15 $50 $100 (I cant recall if there were $25's)non cash winners turned into a end of promo drawing entry. Everyone flocked to the 10/7 machines that had been slowed down to a crawl. A straight or better got you a ticket. We played the Sigma Video BJ that had good rules. Back then they didn't have very many Video BJ machines, they only had 2 playable machines at the Rio. The BJ machines were empty for the fist few days sitting directly behind all the guys playing the 10/7 including Dancer. As you can imagine the BJ machines were significantly better than just about anything else, other than the $5 9/6(they excluded the $5 9/6 asap). Next year the same thing. Most VP guys wanted to avoid anything bad pay and stuck to the same good pay slow stuff. They had 2 $1 Deuces wild machines that shorted you on the wild royal however it still paid $25 for a wild 4 of a kind. That comes up once in about every 17 hands, not to mention, the STRF 5k and WR + got you a ticket as well. They didn't slow those machines down. I found some other much better games than the obvious ones as well. I even had an advantage on sigma derby.
I always look for different crazy angles when it comes to beating the casinos out of money.
FYI I would much rather play a slot machine with an advantage than a VP machine. No button or strategy mistakes, you can get out more spins out than hands, the casinos don't harass you as much, the casino treats you much better. Playing VP sometimes seems like work, playing a video slots is like playing a video game to me.
