I liked the old school pips and faces only cards. Back then you could depict women as completely useless in all facets except as a love interest - she was a non-stop detriment to his success until the end. But of course there would be no story if that were not the case. How he knew that the freshly printed marked decks had no latency (or if there was latency what that latency would be) between delivery to the casino and when they hit the felt is anyone's guess ;-).

Thanks again for the reco, TP.
You make a good point about the woman interest.
Most likely Feminist Pressure to be written into the story.
I read some other comments about the movie and they had the same gripe about her.
The movie is a bit goofy but I enjoyed a few parts.
I like when he was going all cat burglar.
I couldn't figure out how he kept getting naturals.
I'm guessing the glasses could see through the cards but still naturals almost every time?
The point was he knew when to bet on the bank and win.
Obviously he was being far too greedy and not milking it.
Of course that is true to real life as many players who find an edge like this burn it out.
I'm guilty of doing it a few times myself.
You can't think too much with this type of movie though... just have to enjoy it for what it is.
Better than the Avenger Movies of today.
I enjoy the cars, scenery, 60s atmosphere and the architecture.

The movie has some parallels to what Phil Ivey and Cheung Yin Sun did in real life for millions.
The movie is definitely a solid 6 out of 10 IMO... perhaps up to 7 depending on what you compare it to.

If you really want to get into a debate... lets talk about the best James Bond movie of all time IMO...

    ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE

    George Lazenby is really good.
He even breaks the 4th wall making a reference to Sean Connery.
The movie is Epic and it has the real life Vegas Fixture Telly Savalas as the Bad Guy.
It also seems to go with this 60s kick that I am on!

(It appears the Full Movie is on Youtube in 18 parts)
Recent Upload... probably get struck down by copyright.
