My main take is that the movie succeeds in conveying the message that people seeking stardom are eaten up all the time by Hollywood. These star-seekers just don't realize what a long shot it is even if you have all the looks and talent in the world (they are all congregated in one place after all). Well you know all this already, but it is the main message of the film IMHO. Naomi's character deals with it, with her highly detailed dream (recall the movie Jacob's Ladder) and eventual suicide (not a great way to deal with it). Others may cope with it differently (drug use, alcohol, gambling, wanton sex, etc. just like any other trauma). The characters in the dream are really something. In particular The Cowboy.
Anyway, it was good to see it again as I had forget quite a bit of it having not viewed it again until almost 20 years later.

    Cheers, TP.
    Podcast

For me, the first hour or hour and a half was pretty good.
Things got a little redundant after that and different after Alex started to feel the effects of alcohol.
I agree with most of the main points being made but you have to cipher through the opinionated facts.
They lose me when they get all upset about Devil Worshiping but believe in some sort of Dimensional Metamorphosis.
I'm not sure why Alex Jones is so focused on drinking and smoking marijuana.
Hard to believe or understand this statement that he has made before...
"God doesn't know where he came from" - Alex Jones

    Mulholland Drive

I agree with your statements and analysis.
I think its a simple story that has been told over and over and over again.
    Innocence being Corrupted.
The interesting or entertaining concept is the way the story is being told and the visual experience of the movie.
My main problem with David Lynch is that he focuses on porno, too much, in his movies.
I get it though... we are a sex crazed society and always have been.
    And of course, Sex Sales.

    Lost Highway

Basically the same story being told with the same method which is fine and fun to watch.
More difficult to watch as the blood, porn and satanism is overwhelming or offensive to my delicate senses.
More difficult to cipher compared to Mulholland Drive.
In the end, its the same old story again.
    Boy meets Girl...

    Twin Peaks

I remember when this show was on TV every week.
I was one of the few who wasn't watching or following it.
I may have caught part of an episode or two with my father but I had no interest.
So that is going to be nice now as I can watch all the episodes back to back and see what all the fuss was about.
I guess he made part 2 as well 25 years later so if I find the show interesting I will probably be watching that for awhile now.

Yes, everyone was talking about Twin Peaks back then. But, like you I didn't watch it then. Since then I have seen some of a couple episodes. BlueVelvet Whatshisface (Kyle MacLachlan - I just googled it) is in it and I enjoy his movies (like Blue Velvet).

Well now, Alex Jones. I listened to the rest of it. If you haven't already seen it, Janet Ossebaard's extremely disturbing multi-part series Fall of the Cabal (11 episodes I think) corroborates much of what Alex says (goes much further down the rabbit hole than Alex and connects the dots irrefutably), but the problem is - it can't be unwatched (particularly episode 5). Alex has probably seen it. I only mention this series because you had linked the Rogan/Jones episode. I haven't watched her Covid series yet, but plan to.

    Best TP.

I believe he was knighted by the queen Monet. Thanks for the news - I enjoyed many of his movies.

The best of Sean Connery right here.

I watched the first 7 episodes of Twin Peaks.
Might as well watch the 8th to finish out the first season.
I see why I wasn't very keen on this show when it first aired in 1990.
It has a few moments of interest but much of it plays like a day time soap opera.
Not sure if I can stomach season 2 and 3.
I read that even David Lynch hates Season 2 of the show.
Could be worth it down the road, like his movies but difficult to watch back to back to back episodes.
So far I prefer his movie style when compared.
Perhaps the 2 hour movie Twin Peaks Fire Walk with me is better and less time consuming but that is supposed to be the prequel.
If you can make it through all of that you still have to watch 18 episodes of Twin Peaks the Return (2017).
This is one reason I usually pass on TV Dramas as they are never ending.
A few years ago I bought the Boardwalk Empire Collection.
I watched 56 episodes in about 6 days.
Not exactly worth it but easier to watch when compared.
    Drove my family insane lol.
Truth be told, I snuck in the first episode of the Greatest American Hero today.
Much more entertaining compared to Twin Peaks, IMO.

Monet, my only problem with the Greatest American Hero (William Katt) is that they did not make enough episodes. Generally speaking I just enjoy the light-heartedness of many of Stephen J. Cannell's series. Recall that William Katt was in the comedy horror movie House which I found enjoyable (I forgot a lot of it as the movie was made in 1986) since it had more of William Katt's deadpan style of comedy in it and you probably liked it too for this reason.

Thanks for the heads up regarding Twin Peaks. I don't think I am going to pursue this series. Yesterday I watched The Flintstones meet Rockula and Frankenstone (1979) on the free over the air Me-TV channel (I guess this was a Halloween special). The animation talent was not to be found as the Flintstones and Rubbles were not draw properly and only the voices of Barney and Wilma were original from the terrific 60's series. The plot was of course vapid, but it would have held the nostalgic value we both hold in high regard if they had done a proper job with the animation and voices. I would not recommend this movie. I only mention it because that is the main movie stuff that has been going on with me the last two days or so. I did watch the original 13 Ghosts which was mediocre (it had the lady that played the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of OZ in it) and also part of The Thing from Another World (1951). I am assuming the excellent John Carpenter's The Thing movie from 1982 is the remake of this and so I did not end up watching the whole 1951 original movie as the remake was so much better.

    Agreed.
Used to watch this show every week with my Pops when it first aired.
Love the comedic concept of losing the instruction manual.
More episodes would of been good but it had a good run at 40 aired episodes and 45 episodes produced.
The show suffered from a name problem after Regan got shot.

Did I post those thoughts or just think them? (sarcastic humor and altered movie quote)
I do appreciate you and the reco though.
    Keep 'em coming.
In his and your defense, the show has a 9 out of 10 rating and everyone seems to agree its wonderful.
I doubt I ever watch it, even though I enjoy most things related to Chess.

Very fair statements. Years ago I saw Searching for Bobby Fischer which was decent. You may have already seen it. I will try and putlocker the Coldest Game. Thanks for the reco. I would like to recommend Zero Effect with Bill Pullman if you haven't seen it.

At the time that Searching came out I was highly addicted to speed chess.
I finally kicked that habit after about 3 years and picked up many others.

Hi Monet, I putlockered The Coldest Game (https://ww5.fmovie.sc/online/the-col...ing.html/?ep=7). It looks like it is the same Netflix crew that did the miniseries about the chess woman that Bosox recommended based on the visuals and style. Decent film, thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's probably worth a watch, but nothing earth shattering here like Sorcerer.

Maybe this 6 season series called "Peaky Blinders" you would find more enjoyable, and suitable for your rather narrow specific taste.

Monet, please don't take me seriously, I could care less if you think that women are inferior to men or not. I'm just joking with you. Peaky Blinders is a good series and improves with each season.

I find that a TV Series is very difficult to watch or binge as they say these days.
As I said before I can't believe I sat down and watched every episode of Boardwalk Empire in less than a week.
    That was 56 episodes.
I tried to do that with Twin Peaks and only made it through 7 episodes.
A friend of mine wanted me to get into Shameless when if first came about.
I refused telling him that I don't want to get involved in a never ending TV Series or Show.
I have a bunch of Complete Sets that I watch some here and there but I always seem to lose interest in watching every episode.

I wouldn't say that Women are inferior to Men.
    They are just different.
Men and Women have different strengths and weaknesses.
I don't believe in this bullshit that women can do anything a man can do and that they should do everything that men do.
That doesn't mean that they are inferior.
Men and Women are not complete without each other and working together.
In Simple terms I would say that Men run security and Women are the caretakers.
I have a problem with FemiNazis or the FemiNazi mindset/ideology.

    Decent movie about Time Travel.
Better if you are on psychedelics while viewing.
The impressive thing about this movie is that it only cost about 5000 Australian Dollars.
The movie is free so can't complain.
You can also watch the filmmaker explain how he made the movie.
