Well I guess it's the same syndrome as those billionaires who took that deep sea submarine trip and then imploded instantly under extreme water pressure.
    Interesting.
I didn't care or follow that story very much.
I know about it but I'm like, whatever.
My only question is why didn't they test it to that depth first?
I mean, we sent monkeys into space before humans didn't we?
I can't imagine being a billionaire and just jumping into some rig that some guy says is "safe" and "effective".
    But that's just me.
    I don't trust 99.99% of anything.

EDIT: After some reading I guess they did test it but if I'm over at the Titanic, I'm gonna stay topside and say: You First!
    Such a bad idea anyways.
That's like going to the Bermuda Triangle, just to look around and test fate, lol.
Also, from what I looked up with two seconds on google, you can buy a submarine for 15 million dollars.
I'm pretty sure a Billionaire could afford that.
I guess a luxury submarine costs about 100 Million.
That's a little steep, even for a Billionaire.

Yes these guys are a lock for this year's Darwin Awards (or whatever time interval they're given at).

Decided to watch all the Mission Impossible Movies and run through the behind the scenes stunts afterwards.
I knew he did this stunt but didn't realize how severe it was and that he did it EIGHT times lol.
I don't even know what to say.
Just shaking my head, smiling and just have to give him respect in this department.
The sheer madness and balls just trumps the sheer stupidity of it for me.
I guess it boils down to a legacy thing for him now.
Like WTF else am I going to do?
I got all the money and fame.
All that is left is for me to keep one upping my last stunt to prove that I'm the best in history of film for this kind of thing.

Thanks for posting. It was nice to see Peter Graves in the 1st movie - but there's no way he would have gone rogue if they had been true to the TV series character; anyway he got a big payday to turn into a villian for the 1st movie. With regard to Tom, all these stunts give him a nice easy out from the spotlight if he wants to fake his own death and that might be the plan in the long run.

    That's an interesting take.
Probably a good way to assassinate someone via having an "accident".
I dunno though, Scientology needs that income to keep coming in.

Anyways, I finished Part 2 and that has always been my least favorite.
I haven't watched it for years and forgot most of it.
Interesting how it totally correlates with the Cornavirus.
Even the name of the virus was similar.
The movie is just too much John Woo for me.
I found myself laughing at the cartoonlike quality of some of the action scenes.
That last fight is way too freaking long lol.
The best part of the movie for me was the rock-climbing scene in the beginning.
What I don't understand is how nothing from part two transitioned into part three.
    It's like it never happened.
I guess the same could be said about part one but part one is the most classic and truest to the TV Original.
I actually have the entire TV Series on dvd.
7 boxed set but I've only opened three as I never seem to make time to finish it off.
My favorite character is Rollin Hand.

I don't think you are in Vegas, but the Palms still has 5 Dollar Mondays even at the IMAX and Tuesday/Wednesday Matinees are 5 dollars as well.
    Seems like a good deal.

It's been a long time for me as well seeing these MI movies - same with the TV series, but I do agree with you about Rollin Hand. Thanks for the IMAX movie tip. I'm not in the area, but if I ever get out there, I'll keep it in mind. I did see the Tron Legacy movie in IMAX back when it came out (2010) - unfortunately it wasn't a very good movie IMHO.

Whoops (I had originally posted that I was going to see it) - hard pass on Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny. Just found out it's a wokefest.

LOL... I thought you knew that.
I figured you were just going to go see it just because.
I struggle with wanting to see it as well.
I know it's gonna be woke and that bitch is the devil but I figure I'm gonna watch it eventually.
So, if I can watch it on the big screen for free, should I?
It has a lot of bad CGI and I don't enjoy that but I haven't been to the theatre since Top Gun 2.
Kind of a bad experience as I had some lady coughing and talking through the whole thing.
And the movie was a basic copy of part one, with some diversity-colored actors mixed in.
Probably should have tried it in 4x as I heard it was kind of fun, but I might be too old for riding a rollercoaster for 2+ hours straight.
Oppenheimer is going to be coming out in about a week so I may want to coordinate all three movies for one price.
I haven't done it for a long time, but some theaters have a back door entrance that you can blast through when people open it.
I used to do that 25 years ago for funsies.
Now I just have the occasional odd nightmare about it.
    Reoccurring Nightmare which is strange.

If you think there will be some recognizable elements from the earlier IJ movies, maybe you can salvage some nostalgia from it. For me, what happened is I saw one of the later Star Wars movies and did not realize that it was a wokefest (I should have walked out rather than watching it to completion) - they destroyed the franchise basically (at least at the theater movie level). And this sort of ruin is imminent for me if I were to watch this latest IJ movie, so I have decided not to watch it. Anyway, I appreciate your heads-up about the Oppenheimer movie - I'm looking forward to seeing it. The sky's the limit if they do it right.
One of my favorite old school tricks was when there was a group of us (say five or six guys), we'd chip in to get a mole (the mole doesn't have to chip in) into the theater and then the mole would open up the back door and the rest of us would come pouring in. I think you can purchase a ticket a couple hours early and get a movie in before the movie on the ticket starts, but sometimes they collect the tickets at the entrance to that particular movie, so that trick might not work. On a dead Tuesday or something that play may fly. If you do get into an earlier movie, you can get a refund for the movie on your ticket if you decide you are movied-out for the afternoon - if they ask why (doubtful) you can tell them your friend couldn't meet up after all or your wife called with something urgent or whatever.

    That's a good move!
Too Bad I didn't have friends or money when I was doing it.
Not easy to find a bunch of friends who are into doing that sort of thing.
Most people are too scared or feel guilty or something like that.
And there is the problem of trusting people or knowing who will crack under pressure if caught.
Anyways, I lost interest in Star Wars after the Return of the Jedi.
Stars was great for me in the 80s but once I got older it didn't seem as good or as cool.
4,5 and 6 were ok and the end of 6 was pretty good with that fight scene around the lava and big reveal of Vader.
But by the time that 7,8 and 9 rolled out I had zero interest in it.
Probably too busy printing money in all sorts of things inside and outside of the Casinos.
When I finally tried to watch Part 7 on TV I could never get very far.
    Same with 8 and 9.
I literally cannot tell you much about any of them.
I know there is some girl running around stronger than Luke.
I know there is some black kid.
I know Han Solo's son is with the Dark Side and kills his father.
And I know Luke is on some island or something.
    That's about it.
The series really ended for me after Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Those will always be 1,2 and 3 to me no matter what anyone says.
The ending of Jedi felt complete.
No reason to go any further and when I found out that it was basically a watered down rip off of DUNE, well, I really lost interest

At this point "The Sound of Freedom" is a must watch for me at the theater and at least a 5 dollar purchase.
Just too much controversy and the MSM/LIBs are losing their shit over it.
Nobody upset about the 2007 movie Called "Trade" with Kevin Kline.
    Not a bad movie.

Sound of Freedom is a 5 to 6 year old movie that Disney roadblocked.
That alone is enough to purchase a ticket or two.
You can't make fun of Muslims, Jews or Queers these days but anything Christian is Open Season.

Thanks Monet. You bring up some great points about the Star Wars movies franchise. The first two were very entertaining, especially the 2nd one IMHO. The 3rd one made was pretty good but not as good as the first two IMHO. Thereafter they were fine, but when the woke shit started a few years back, that was that.

    Good Catch.
    I can see that.
He played a similar character (time period) in Mullholand Falls.
    RIP.

I think my movie going days are over.
I'll probably still go see Oppenheimer.
When I think about it, how great can it really be?
Nolan usually delivers and I loved Dunkirk because of the flight scenes and feeling it gave me.
He probably created the two best Batman Movies in my opinion.
Anyways, I left the Sound of Freedom at the halfway mark because of several problems.
The biggest problem was listening to and watching people eat candy, cracker jack and popcorn.
All while guzzling down 2-liter cups of soda while children are being sold, stolen and raped onscreen.
The pacing and character development of the movie had problems.
That problem was minor as I was sitting there having confliction problems as I am entertained while children are being sold into slavery.
Far too much of a hypocritical situation for me to endure.
Stuck around for the Dolby Atmos version of Mission Impossible 7.
It had a few good moments but felt disjointed and disconnected.
The scenes and music were too much, too intense and too much in your face.
It was these long 20-minute pushes of epic over the top moments trying to outdo each other.
That movie ran an hour too long.
Easily could of cut it down to 90 minutes.
I enjoyed watching Tom Cruise do the actual behind the scenes stunt on YouTube more than the movie.
That 10 second scene made no difference.
An amazing feat that nobody of his wealth and stature will be able to replicate but useless in the movie.
    You don't need it.
It really does nothing for the story.
I would rank this movie six out of seven in the series when compared to the rest.
I would much rather have a true to life spy story and less CGI Action to hook me in.
I watched all six movies last week.
The first movie is still the best even with the bullshit helicopter/train climax.
That movie has the best tension and storytelling even though you can see Jim's gun pointed at himself from the get-go.
And even though Peter Graves refused to be a part of it because he hated the idea that Jim Phelps turned traitor.
Part 3, 4, 5 and 6 are way better than this one.
I might be getting too old and jaded though.
You'll have to watch the movies and form your own opinion.
I'll finish the Sound of Freedom in the privacy of my own home.
I think that issue works better as a documentary.
Watching or Listening to other people stuff their faces with popcorn was difficult with that subject material for me.

Monet, thanks for the excellent detailed synopses of these movies. I totally agree with you regarding the Nolan Batman movies. These two Batman movies were not only great within the superhero/comic genre but stood tall even outside the genre as outstanding movies. I will see Sound of Freedom, MI7, and Oppenheimer as they become available in HD off of putlocker. I am especially looking forward to Oppenheimer and I will watch MI7 for continuity purposes since I have seen all the other ones and will see Sound of Freedom because of the important subject material - it is justification enough that libtards are trying to shut this movie down to warrant a watching.
I did finally watch Secret Space UFOs: Fastwalkers - it was OK I thought; no regrets.

IMF one, two and three are separate movies.
You can see how they transitioned 3 into 4 and made them something more cohesive.
Three probably has the best villain.
Real Life Heroin Addict Hoffman was good on screen, in most movies.
Part 4, 5 and 6 are basically one long movie and I enjoy 5 the most out of the three.
Most people love Fallout more, but I like Rogue Nation better.
Part 7 is more John Wick and less movie/story in my opinion.
I heard the original cut was 4 hours long and they cut off 75 minutes!
Looking forward to your opinion and breakdown.

Thanks Monet. Yes, big stars do some crazy stuff. Look at fellow IMF cast member Jeremy Renner - at least he is still alive.

I'm having a hard time believing that Oppenheimer is going to be a great movie.
I watched a scene with Robert Downey Jr. in it and had a very difficult time.
I had the same problem with Matt Damon in his role of the little bit that I watched.
Too many big name typecasted actors in this movie.
Too difficult to look at them like military personal or scientists working on the bomb.
The movie is filmed for IMAX but is basically a 3-hour movie of dialogue so what's the point?
I'm really struggling with this one.
Not sure that I can sit in a quiet movie theater with other people for 3 hours for this.
It has such high reviews but 1 in 20 tell the real story of this possible snoozefest.
