Thanks Monet. Yes, big stars do some crazy stuff. Look at fellow IMF cast member Jeremy Renner - at least he is still alive.
I don't understand what happened exactly.
I get some conflicting reports that he was helping a family member get their stuck car out of the snow.
One report said it was the night before though.
Was he playing chicken with that Sno-Cat for an upcoming role?
    Bad Joke... Too Soon?

According to CNN, he was trying to prevent the Sno-Cat from running over his nephew because Renner had forgot to put on the parking brake before initially exiting the Sno-Cat. Who the fuck knows if that is what really happened. I figure he was trying to do something well beyond his pay grade.

Too many big name typecasted actors in this movie.
Too difficult to look at them like military personal or scientists working on the bomb.
The movie is filmed for IMAX but is basically a 3-hour movie of dialogue so what's the point?
I'm really struggling with this one.
Not sure that I can sit in a quiet movie theater with other people for 3 hours for this.
It has such high reviews but 1 in 20 tell the real story of this possible snoozefest.
Thanks for the update on this movie Monet. Like IMF7, it will be awhile before I am able to watch this movie in HD, since these don't become available in HD on putlcoker for several weeks - I have tried to watch Cam recordings of just-released movies in the past but the quality is horrible and they are annotated with ads for shit. It sounds like they should have just put casting accuracy above star power for these physicist roles.

oh, it was his own Sno-Cat lol!?
    Things happen fast on machinery.
I once got my foot stuck on the clutch/gas pedal of a farming tractor while going in reverse.
Got in an odd situation where I couldn't reach or stop the tractor in time.
A large branch from a tree started to slowly crush me up against the steering wheel.
    I thought this is it.
Ribs gonna break into the lungs/organs... game over.
Somehow the tension released, and I scraped under the branch.
I have conflicting emotions about that situation.
On one hand, I think God or Angel Intervention.
On the other hand, I figure I just had enough room to make the clearance.
Not like I've actually made a difference or helped God in his mission.
And that was like 30 years ago.
    Lost Cause.

Man, I'm glad that it was a pliable branch (branch on the thinner side as branches go luckily). I got torpedoed (t-boned) in the rear-end of the small hatch-back I owned in the early to mid 90's by an elderly lady coming off of a side street in a Bonneville sedan . The collision spun me into the other lane of a somewhat busy two lane street, but there were no other cars in that lane at that time (I was not injured by the collision impact since it was at the very rear of the side of my car). It created a stress-fracture in the rear axle that went undetected at the body shop, and eventually the rear axle cracked a few years later as the fracture insidiously worked its way through the axle over the years. I ended up nursing the car home on side streets, and then simply donating it.

My first car was a 79 Bonneville... loved that car.
Built Like a Tank and Drove like a Boat.
The bumpers on that thing were solid steel!
Or at least they seemed like it
Glad you made it out alive without a scratch!

Yes great cars. I almost pulled the trigger on a Chevy Caprice (same thing as a Bonneville) back in '97 to replace the Mercury Tracer hatchback, but opted for a Chevy Malibu instead.

Go figure that the "Woke Feminist Mob" even ruined something as simple as Barbie, lol.
Literally a Childrens Toy that has produced 2 Billion Dollars in Revenue Worldwide for decades.
And they can't just make if fun for the girls and families who want to enjoy such cotton candy.
Proof once again that comedy is dead.
I haven't seen the movie, nor do I plan on it anytime soon but from what I have heard and read, it is not what you think it is or what it should be.

Thanks for the heads up Monet. I have no plans to see this film.

Wow, Guy Ritchie really switched gears (if the trailer reflects the whole movie - which it would have to). Here I was thinking he only did Snatch type shit. I'm in - thanks for the reco Monet. I have no idea how I didn't notice this when it was released.

By the way, it sounds like Palms Casino Resort is can't miss - bargain days for 1st run movies and 5-star dim sum.

    Cheers, TP.

Yeah, not your typical Guy Ritchie Movie.
Way better than I thought it was going to be.
I held off on this movie for a long time.
Broke down and said Fuck It last night.
    Glad I did.
    Enjoyed it.
It's not perfect and much of it is unbelievable or exaggerated but it's highly entertaining.
And you find yourself getting involved in the characters as it has good character development.
And he must of did his research because it was very realistic towards how the military operates.
etc. etc. You might enjoy it... worth a viewing to find out.
I love the MIDDLE SCENE where he is on the phone constantly being put on hold.
I think we can all relate to that shit lol.

I also enjoyed this movie Monet. It looks like the interpreter has a mechanic's job waiting for him when he touches ground stateside. The combat scenes were very well done as were the interactions between military personnel, Afghan townspeople/nomads and mercenary contractors. Thanks again for the rock solid reco.

Yeah, the cinematography was really well done.
It wasn't hard to figure out what was going to happen at the end.
They kept it very simple and didn't try to shock you.
I wanted the Taliban to blow up the Helicopter as they were flying away.
    Just for the shock value.
    I knew they wouldn't though.
They were going for the complete and utter Stereotypical Hollywood Happy Ending.
None the less, the Angel of Death scene was pretty amped up.
    I enjoyed that.
And I enjoyed the movie overall even though it was simple and formulaic.
Better than Mission Impossible 7 in my opinion.

Perhaps but it's like you guys don't even exist.
I barely read either of your two posts, if and when you post, which is rare anyways.
Keep Trying though... you might get inside my head, maybe.

I am still waiting for someone to upload HD versions of MI7 and Oppenheimer to putlocker - right now only the Cam versions (bootlegged by recording at the theater by people) are available for these newer movies (Covenant was released long enough back to where there had been an HD version for a while now).
Yes the Angel of Death scene was pretty insane - definitely shows the power of high tech.
I don't know if you ever watched the Venture Bros. cartoon series on Adult Swim, but they just released a movie which I have been watching piece meal and will probably complete in the next few days. Nothing special, but somewhat funny and worth a watch for continuity/completion if you followed the original series back in the day.
