something about my situation with Mike and WoV banning.

It has come to my attention in the past few days that several members at WoV, Axelwolf, RS_ in particular, but probably a few others, have at times argued or spoke on my behalf to Mike Shackleford concerning that whole situation. Unfortunately as we all know Mike is....well Mike and has never been able to bring himself to work towards a solution even though he knows and has admitted some wrongdoing.

I had heard things like that before but was never sure. And to be honest I have always been a little agitated at Axelwolf, RS_ and others in Mike's "circle" for not standing up for me more. Especially since it has now been proven that I was right about the fraud I called out in the first place that lead to everything and especially since it is now obvious to everyone that Norm only showed up at WoV to use Mike to ban me.

I am sure as friends of Mike's some of these guys were put in a hard spot, speaking up for what they knew was wrong vs agitating Mike, especially once I started really going after Mike. It is comforting to know that some of these guys tried behind the scenes.

So I would like to publicly thank Axelwolf, RS_, and anyone else who spoke to Mike on my behalf and I apologize for some of the bad things I was thinking about you for not doing more.

Just saw this thread. Appreciate that, thanks KJ.

All of that stuff is mostly a blur now (please, don't go on a 5,000+ word essay re-hashing it!). I guess it was aggravating to us, or at least to me, where you were going after us on here even though we were talking to Wizard seeing if he'd reinstate you on WOV. So that's where some of the not-so-kind things that I said were kinda coming from, even though I shouldn't have said them to begin with.

FWIW, I can assure you any of the gay jokes & whatnot AxelWolf makes/made at you are said in jest and aren't mean-spirited at all.

OMG he's never gonna be able to get over his banishment from WoV and he'll be taking the ulcers he's developed from it to an early grave.

Another teachable moment for you kew: LIFE ON FORUMS SHOULD BE FAR DOWN THE TOTEM POLE OF IMPORTANCE. It's absolutely amazing how you constantly need to worry about what goes on within these bastions of bloviation. If you just cannot make it thru each day without desperately having look to see who said what about you and why, then your quality of life will never improve. Use these forums as a form of entertainment rather than creating a neurotic virtual reality for yourself. And if something someone says bothers you, don't rush to keep looking any more. That uncomfortable feeling will quickly pass.

Rob, it looks like you, me, and KJ are lifetime members of the WALL OF SHAME!!! Oh, forsook forsook. I'm so bummed. I cry all the way to the bank.

And here's another teachable moment. If somebody brings up some naïve, off-the-wall stuff regarding something in which they claim expertise, probably a good idea to question their credibility in all things.

I mean, $100 million casino renovations featuring the storage and reinstalling of 10-20 year old video poker machines? All video poker machines being leased? Video poker as not counting as "slots" in Nevada statistics?

One thing's for sure. For some people, TELLING THE TRUTH MUST BE FAR DOWN THE TOTEM POLE OF IMPORTANCE.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been a bit preoccupied. I don't think I can add much to what RS_ has already said. I too will say, I Appreciate that, thanks KJ. I doubt we will ever be singing Kumbaya on this forum(what fun would that be?) However, I do think we can be more positive and helpful to one another, especially when it really counts.

Shack is a mathematical genius. That alone will not lead one to riches as an AP. You have to be willing to work. AP is a lot of work. Take axel for example. When the rest of us are sleeping at 3 AM axel is in his dark basement on the computer scouring the websites of casinos all over the country looking for workable/lucrative promotions. Hundreds of casinos across the country. This doesn't pay anything while he's doing it but he's made some big scores because he puts in the time and effort to find the good promotions. He puts other people in action too. And he's good for the money but the word is he's cheap, pays like minimum wage.

So anyways, Shack is genius but also goofball. In his videos he reminds me of Gomer Pyle. Dude couldn't get layed in a whore house with a fist full of hundreds.

Axel is probably gonna need to work harder and smarter if he wants to keep a content team. Libs are stumping for $20/hour minimum wage now.

You are so far off base with these assumptions that you are not even in the ballpark.

I don't even have a basement, they are not all that common here in Las Vegas, however, the garage works just as well. I have a very comfortable area set up in my master bedroom with 24-inch monitors connecting to a few Hidden out of sight laptops and chords that I use one Mouse to control everything. I really Dislike clutter and try to avoid yeah, however, I'm not always that successful.
I do spend some time online Scouting for Casino promotions and even online casino bonuses and other types of AP information, certainly not as much time as you may think. I did actually look at about 5 casinos online today in the Washington state area. Generally it's much better just networking with others.

When I first started I only paid a little over minimum wage, I was paying about five bucks an hour plus bonuses. That's really all I could afford. I quickly realized I needed to pay people more and went up to about eight bucks an hour plus bonuses. Obviously depends on the type of play. Nowadays, I'm probably overly generous and some of my teammates are like what the f*** that's too much. I certainly do travel often but, I don't get to hundreds of casinos, that would be just way too much work. Nowadays, I only spend time in casinos if I have a specific reason to be at that location doing something. I almost never go out specifically looking for bonus machines and it's not too often where I just decide to go out and Scout casinos hoping to find something. For the most part we know where we want to go and what we want to be doing. For many years I was in the casinos daily for probably 12 hours or more a day on average either playing scouting or doing something. I used to really enjoy scouting it it was fun like a treasure hunt, not so much anymore. At one time I paid a few different people to scout. I paid them between 8 and 10 an hour plus bonuses if they found anything really good and I would put them in on the play as well.
Nowadays,There usually has to be a specific reason for me to want to Scout out a location or if I just happened to be in a new area. Once in awhile I will go out just for the hell of it and Scout.
I will be doing some scouting over the next eight days or so, however, I have a specific reason and things I'm looking for.

No but it appears you have a really big "closet" so maybe you could move the whole operation in there.

If someone has the skill set to be a good scout why wouldn't they just do it for themselves? Is it lack of bankroll to exploit the plays.
Take off that stupid mask you big baby.

Time is usually the main factor. Lack of bank roll is a factor albeit significantly less common than time. The employer/team leader will give the criteria to the employees and then they will go find the plays per the criteria - obviously there is a huge trust factor involved in that case.

That's a good question. I would say lack of bankroll was the biggest reason. Some people have a very Risk adverse personality. Lack of interest in the actual playing aspect. They may be good at scouting and finding things that have potential, but they don't have the ability to put it all together and figure out how best to exploit the play, exactly what games should be played and how to extract the money. Lets not forget a play may be ok if you play it yourself, but to make it really good you need others to play for you. If you canrt put that together it may not be worthwhile. Oftentimes they need some better coaching on how to scout and what they should be looking for.
Paying someone to scout is a very tricky proposition, its hard to calculate what its worth given all the aspects involved. And, you could be losing money on the deal. Someone could be doing a great job, but still get unlucky and not find what you are really looking for. You can't pay too much, and if you pay too little it's going to be hard to find anyone reliable with the skills and motivation to do it. It almost has to be the perfect person, and the perfect situation.

There was this one guy who played Flush Attack in Laughlin, who fit all of the above. I always thought it odd that he would hit a few bonus flushes and then disappear, even when the action was really good and there was not much competition.

Then one day, I ventured into the poker room to play a tournament and there he was... so we got to talking. It turns out, he knew who I was and what I did, so he felt comfortable talking to me. He was intelligent and very nice, but he was shy and quiet unless he got to know you.

He told me his main focus and interest was poker, but he could only afford small limit poker at the time. He used the little money he made from flush attack to play poker and help pay the bills. When he ran good on poker and FT he would come to vegas and jump up to the 8-16 limit. From then on, whenever I seen him he would chat with me and tell me about small plays he found or heard about.

I gave him my number(no homo) and told him to call me if he found anything good and we would work something out. He called a few times and it worked out well for both of us. At some point, he called about a play, but it wasn't something I was interested in at the time. I asked him how poker was going and he told me he had been running bad. I had suggested we make scouting a permanent paied thing if he was interested, as that would help supplement his income and he could make his own scheduled and put in as many or as few hours as he wanted to, and still play poker. At first, he was doing it via foot and bus, I thought that was an absolute wast of his time.

I had a Z80Z that was just sitting there that I was looking to trick out when I had time. But, I said fuck it and I just gave it to him with an option to buy at a really good price and he could pay me whenever he had the money(I really wish I would have kept the car, it was a fun car). It worked out well for quite a while, but unfortunately, he had knee and leg problems that were getting worst(I think he was about 20 years older than me). He just wanted to be able to play poker where he could just sit most of the time. We stayed in touch for a long time after that but I have since lost contact with him. This was before the poker boom so hopefully he did well for himself during that time. Not sure, since he was fairly predicable and rocked up most of the time.

p.s. He did eventually pay me for the car after winning a small poker tournament.
