Thread: Best food meal deals in or around your Local Casinos? :)

Steak N Shake across the street from Gulfstream Park Casino has Steakburger, fries, and a soda for about $3. It's called a Snackpack. The fries are SUPPOSED to be a kiddie version but sometimes they give the adult version by mistake.

Casino Miami has a cheeseburger, HUGE fries, and a cup of soda for $6. Not a bad deal since Gulfstream Park Casino sells a very similar meal for about $15. Even the Cafeteria Workers implied that about $15 for a burger, fries, and soda was ridiculously expensive considering that you could get the same thing for about $3 right across the street!

My only "local" casino is Cherokee, and I don't love their food. I liked Paula Deen's restaurant when it was there, but she crashed and burned herself, so it closed. Food and service were solid.

Paula Deen shouldn't have been ostracized for a word she had used YEARS before it was widely found out she said it. Now if she had said it like TODAY on live TV, then she would deserve to be ostracized and dragged through the mud.

Paula was only guilty of honesty. She grew up in the old south. I'm from Mississippi. I know the everyday language white southerners used in those days. Any white southerner of Paula's generation that tells you they didn't use the N word back in the day is a bald face liar. So Paula was only guilty of doing what multi-millions of Americans were doing.

I agree that she was unfairly ostracized for something she said IN THE PAST. It wasn't something she had said recently or currently and not live.

Near El Cortez. 1 block south of El Cortez at 6th and Carson. It's called The Donut Bar. Not healthy....but damn good! Exotic donut brands. My favorite is Birthday Cake Batter. If you are on diabetes Medication, you might want to double up that day. (that is a joke, NOT medical advice). Gives you the energy to go table hopping at the blackjack tables in El Cortez for hours. Sold out of donuts by about 11:30 am, so go early!

We're probably all guilty. I was spanked by the black lady who helped mother ( there were 6 of us). I called her the word and she not only spanked me but was going to tell mother. WELL, I was waiting for mother to chastise her, but instead she went outside and cut a thin branch (they really sting!) and switched ME! Feeling glad it was over, DAD came home!! Off comes the belt!! We were reared right and I ended up being around many black friends- even one a pallbearer at a family funeral.

As a teenager I was on a greyhound bus between Mississippi and California. White and blacks on the bus. We stopped somewhere in New Mexico for a 15 minute break at a truck stop. I was talking with and old black man when these three kids came walking back to the bus, two white, one black. Couldn't have been more than six years old. One of the white kids yelled out "Last one back to the bus is a n----r!" They all took off running and the black kid beat both of them back to the bus. I thought that was hilarious.

The old black man said "You know, that child didn't come up with that on his own. Someone taught it to him."
