Had to go to a wedding in But F--k Iowa, so I stayed two nights at the Hard Rock Casino in Sioux City. Actually a nice, clean pretty modern hotel. Your basic smallish casino. Very limited table games--mostly slots. Very little VP.

They have a buffet, a snack bar, and a steakhouse. Buffet was fair--edible. Snack bar was pure grease. Didn't eat at the steak house. Prices are reasonable. Parking is free. No resort fee.

I didn't gamble other than some nickle slots to kill some time. Watched the one crap game (second table never opened) and nobody bet more than $10. very low limit. But tables were not bouncy at all.

Average age of the customers is DEAD. Even on Friday night it was a pretty old crowd. Free concerts the nights I was there were average at best.

It is a few blocks from downtown Sioux City and let me tell you it is completely dead. Not even a coffee shop. Restaurants aren't even open after work. Bars were all empty. Really pretty sad.

But if you have to be in the area for any reason, the hotel is actually nice.
