I didn't have health insurance when I had the heart attack on Nov. 11, 2019. When I was in the hospital their accountant came to talk to me. She had me file for social security the day after I left the hospital. I was 66 years 6 months old at that point. Then she had the health care coverage retro-activated to Nov 1, 2019. Medicare pays for most of my meds and they just sent me some paperwork where I'm eligible for Part D which will cover more of the med bill. What I'm paying is a pittance compared to the retail prices I see on the receipts when I pick up the meds.Originally Posted by quahaug
What I'm concerned about is I think Medicare is part of the problem. Big pharma has these high prices because medicare is paying for most of it. It's like how college tuition started skyrocketing when it became so easy to get student loans. So besides ripping off people that don't have health insurance big pharma is ripping of the tax payers.
