Thread: Las Vegas Caesars' Spas NOT free for Diamond in 2020?

  1. #1
I have now heard hard rumors from 2 different Spa workers - one at Las Vegas Harrah's and also at Las Vegas Flamingo that starting in 2020, all Las Vegas Spas for Diamonds will be $20. per day instead of mostly free unless you have a room in that casino.

Has anyone seen this in writing? My host hasn't heard anything. Also, there doesn't seem to be a distinction for Diamond levels, that all Diamond levels will be charged to shower the smokey smut from their face after playing in the casinos?

If true, can anyone explain to me the real cost-benefit to being a Diamond at Caesars if you are a local Las Vegas resident?

I am not familiar with Caesars or its Diamond program. Are you saying that local gamblers shower at the spa instead of going home?

I guess Vegas locals who are CET Diamonds can still get two monthly free shows, a $100 celebration dinner as well as two free nights at Ceasars Dubai Resort -- and no resort fee (at any CET hotel) or parking fee.

If you have 25,000 in tier credits you can eat and drink down at the various Laurel Lounges for free.

I cannot undertake a cost-benefit analysis for you. But if you have a matching program to get Diamond, looks like low hanging fruit. If you get Diamond by gambling, depends on the game. . .

The Rio will $20 as of Jan. 1, for Diamond. It is posted on the counter. My guess is they want to close them down and reopen as leased spas. And everyone gets charged.
Keep your friends close, keep your drinks closer...

AndrewG - You ever been to a Health Spa? It usually includes a nice boutique gym, private relaxing lounge with TVs, beverages and fruit, 3 different temperature Jacuzzi's, dry sauna, wet sauna and key for Vegas - filtered and soft water showers. Most local gamblers do not live right on the Strip, so a break from the tables in a quiet atmosphere or quick workout is always good for the mind AND body.

Death by a thousand cuts. The free gym/spa access at Caesar's was one of the better benefits Diamond had left; I couldn't be happier with my decision to let 7 Star/Diamond lapse.

I've never been a spa guy, so this doesn't matter to me.

Regarding the question as to whether Diamond is worth it, FAB summed it up pretty well.

He did leave out a few important aspects of Diamond in Vegas, though:

    - Special lines for checkin/checkout, restaurants, buffets, and other things around the property. This can be a huge benefit if the place is crowded.

    - Generally more leeway regarding bending or making exceptions to petty rules.

    - Small room upgrade for free at most properties (such as the cheapest category to the renovated tower which is a bit more expensive), though this isn't very useful for locals

    - Ability to go to the front of the waiting list for poker cash games at WSOP

    - Ability to use "Diamond registration room" for tournaments at WSOP (this is very important given the huge-field events they keep running, which clog up the regular line constantly)

Seven Stars isn't very useful anymore, though. Most of that has been downgraded to where it's simply not worth earning at this point. You can earn Diamond with just 10% of the play required for Seven Stars.

The free gym/spa access is only of value to local Diamonds as tourists stay at hotels and I understand that hotel guests who are Diamond or above can still access them for free. So I assume there were locals regularly using those facilities and CET was not making money on them or wanted them cleared out to make more room for tourists. Is this a dilution of benefits? Maybe, but whenever I use a spa I enjoy the relative solitude and serenity.

By contrast, having a bunch of locals drinking fruit juices, watching the games in robes and using saunas are not a draw for tourists or lead to profits for CET. So no surprise to me. Finally, maybe there will be a distinction between barely Diamonds and "elite" Diamonds.

In theory it's better to take a shower at the local Casino Spa than going home if you realize you stink but don't want to completely stop gambling. If you go home to shower, you just might shower and then go to sleep. But if you shower at the Casino Spa, you freshen up and then continue gambling for and then when you are done gambling for good that day, go gome and sleep.
