Thread: Super Bowl Bets

  1. #1
Today is the Super Bowl. Many regular everyday people who don't normally bet games do make a bet on two in this day, if only for the feeling of being involved in all the hoopla. This is me today. And while self-proclaimed big-deals like dead-end-ditz has shown to be balls-on fearful of showing if he really has any knowledge of how to bet successfully or not and indeed, seems to only make bets either with other people's money or in a group setting, I'll put my amateur picks and bets right here BEFORE THE GAMES ARE ACTUALLY PLAYED....and not wait 20 or 30 years and claim I won some obscure "tournament" that five dimes Tony couldn't stomach. I only put a hundred bucks on each one of these, but they add a little excitement to a game that doesn't have the Patriots in it this year.

Under 26 total points, 1st half
First score of the game is a FG
    Under 54.5 for the game
    SF to win

The game-winner tears at me. I've never liked all the hype around Andy Reid, and I don't believe that "elite" Mahomes will last any longer than RGIII did. However, to think that the SB winner would come from a city where such a disoriented, confused, and totally incoherent Nanci Pelosi comes from along with SF being a ruined city of homeless slugs and saturated with queers, foreigners and out-of-touch politicians, is very difficult to accept. Their only redeeming point is that they have a QB who does things the right way for any QB expecting to have along and prosperous career. And, he's WHITE in a league being overtaken by blacks--many of them thugs.

I have a feeling that The Chiefs will win. If they lose, I will give Rob Singer a $25 Amazon Gift Card in like two weeks unless something REALLY bad happens to me.

Here are my Superbowl Predictions for today.

I predict that The Chiefs will win The Superbowl.

. Winning team. The Chiefs. I have a gut feeling about this.
    2. Will the coin toss land on heads or tails? Tails.
    3. Total points. 68.
    4. Margin of victory The Chiefs by like a WIDE margin.
    5. Total number of touchdowns. 10
    6. Total number of field goals. 8
    7. Team to score first. The 49erd
    8. Team to score last. Chiefs
    9. Will the team to score first win? I think not.
    10. First score (TD, FG, or safety) Field Goal
    11. Last score (TD, FG, or safety) Touchdown
    12. Will there be a safety? Yes
    13. Will the game go into overtime? Yes.
    14. Will there be a successful two-point conversion? Yes
    15. Will there be a failed field goal attempt? Yes.
    16. Longest field goal. 10 yards
    17. Longest touchdown. 20 yards.
    18. Will there be a defensive or special teams touchdown? I think so.
    19. Will the total points be a prime number? Yes
    20. Total Scrabble points in the last name of the first player to score a touchdown. 70 points.

Hmmm. Just watching the game so far, I like the way Andy Reed is calling the game. San Fran does look powerful, though. OMG, just as I start to comment, San Fran is turning on the power. They just made a power TD. They keep this up and the Chiefs will be worn out by the 3rd quarter.

  4. #4
Happy for Andy Reid-an icon who hung in there. Didn't see the last TD coming.

I think Rob Singer owes Tasha a $25 gift certificate.

You also think Adam Schiff doesn't realize how stoopid most of the country sees him as, Hunter Biden didn't get put on the Board of Burisma as a know-nothing/do-nothing/dishonorably discharged cocaine addict for Ukraine access to his senile fool of an old man father, and that Nanci Pelosi can actually speak into the microphone.

This was a good week....with an even better one coming. Doesn't it just BURN liberal's asses no end watching Trump continue to do nothing but WIN WIN WIN!!?!

In his typical racist manner, racist Rob Singer based his superbowl bets on the very racism that defines him. He bet against Patrick Mahomes because he is half black, comparing him to one of the recent black running quarterbacks, RG3. Meanwhile he called Jimmy Garoppolo white.

Garoppolo is obviously Italian and Italians are not white, despite what Singer also a non-white Italian wants to believe. Throughout history in Europe, Italians were never considered "white". And they were not considered "white" when they came to America. Only through marrying European "whites", did the Italians gradually become lighter until they were quazi accepted as "white". And that "acceptance" as white was more a political thing as by then there was a new group, blacks to discriminate against.

I mean look at Garoppolo and look at Mahomes and you tell me which one is "whiter" lol. Buy a mirror Argentino!

Now kewlJ, if you look in your Crayola box, you will see a crayon called "black," but there is no crayon called "swarthy." Case closed.

    Wise up. LOL.

Wow are you guys confused! I understand kew getting a wedgie since he has that perpetual screw loose upstairs, and he hasn't gotten a hand job from any construction worker with rough hands lately.

But....Mahomes is a simple half-breed--a product of yet ANOTHER black athlete who knew better and wanted no dealings with a prickly-pear box. Garoppolo? I thought it would be nice for an Italian American boy to bring home the bacon. But I forgot how badly he operates in crunch time. The pressure's too much for the guy. Plus I just read where he was dating some porn star while on the Patriots. Not his fault he also has that important oversized Italian Battalion tool.

Either way, it's become the Negro Football League and everybody knows it. Black journalists whine on over the lack of numbers in black coaching jobs. But do you ever hear them say ANYTHING about the overwhelming number of black players in a country that's only 15% black, with huge numbers of them out of the picture because they're in prisons? Nope...."crickets"!

Oh---did you see ANY blacks sitting in the stadium where tickets cost $2500-$214,000? Well, there were a few. The drug trade does help them get ahead. And the commercials. Foreigners looking on now believe 40% of our population is black, with maybe 25% disgusting queers thrown in for good measure.

Wise up. And dead-end-ditz: how'd YOU and your crew do betting on SF??

Didn't have a penny on anything, except the promo for lunch I mentioned in the sports betting section. Why would you assume I'd bet SF? Had the line gone to Pick, I would have opened a KC teaser, but it didn't.

I was busy working during the SB.

No worries. I'm sure that in 10-20 years you can direct anyone with questions somewhere on the internet to how you took 1st and 2nd place in the "Yappers & Crappers" tournament.

Hey red--you say you were working during the Super Bowl. Now was that serving drinks or working tables?

Futures are available, but opening lines not yet up.

Did your sports pro friend suggest this(I thought you said you knew a guy before I can't remember)? This seems right in line with what most of the pros were taking. Aside from taking action on a bunch of prop bets, I went with the suckers /public this year and put a small amount on Kansas City and I also took the over. So I lost the vig. It's okay because I crushed good old dandruff and others in poker and made significantly more than I lost. + 1200 in a 1/2 game.

Is there any reasons why you don't post up some good props/picks or whatever for us before some big games? I know some people are trolling you however there might be people that are looking for extra information to make their decision easier. I understand why you might not want to do it on a day-to-day basis or whatever but certainly during big games that can't hurt.

    Axel,

I'm actually not looking to make friends and influence people, so unless I'm really playing something, I'm not going to list a bunch of maybes or "leans" or marginal opinions. This game, I honestly didn't watch a snap. I was working on XFL roster analysis, not only for wagering purposes but because Fanduel will have some 100K fantasy games the first week, and nobody knows anything, so that's an opportunity.

As far as the SB, it's one game, it's usually an anomaly, and most of the time there isn't much to learn. If the game had gone to Pick, I would have opened a KC +7 teaser and saved the other spot to hedge college hoop futures down the road. But it never went to Pick, so I passed. My thought processes this year went something like this:

    1) Usually I bet no score first seven minutes or 7:30, but the lines were short, so that was a no go.
    2) I'm looking for an excuse to bet Under, but that line wasn't it. SF plays a lot of zone, which one would think would lean to Under, but the KC receivers have so much speed that they get on top of the zone faster than any other team. Plus the SF safeties got burned on some third-and-long against Rodgers the previous game, so that was a no go.
    3) I considered teasing the Under and leaving an open spot, but I wasn't thrilled with Under 61, either, so passed on that.
    4) Usually I lean to trying one of the TE's for first TD, but with these two TE's as the dominant receivers in the game, that wasn't an option.
    5) Looked for middle shots for QB's and such, but not many gaps for player props.
    6) Usually I look for Under yardage props, but not for these two teams. I was concerned if KC got up early, it was going to get crazy in terms of yardage.

So my conclusion was to review XFL rosters and coaching staffs. The numbers should be out tonight. Futures are already available.

As far as publicly posting plays, this college basketball season provided the perfect example of why that would be a real dumb move. One of these days, I'll meet you, and we'll discuss. Let me know if you've seen or heard of the following, and if you haven't, give me some credit:

I'm not sure anybody noticed, but out of the first 250 college hoops games played with the new international line, roughly 150 went Under. Well, I anticipated that, even though that went opposite of what the NCAA was predicting. Now I messed up and did all kinds of extra three-point shooting analyses and wound up betting just 13 games (11-2), but had I ever posted the plays, any Winnebago-driving idiot would have seen exactly what I was doing. Had I just bulk-bet the damned thing, I would have made a killing. But noooooo, I had to overanalyze it.

Now that opening 250-game stretch led to certain consequences, and I am in the midst of exploiting those consequences late-season. Again, if anybody saw what I'm betting, it would take John Q. Citizen three seconds to know what I'm doing and be able to do it themselves.

This was the absolute perfect example of why one needs to keep one's mouth shut.

Congrats on the poker. XFL is going to be very interesting.

Hey Red, good to see you are hanging in there, in spite of the garbage being posted by a certain individual.

I am on the same page as you on the XFL, though I haven’t put the time in like you are. The limits will probably be short until the books get a feel for volume and to see if they are being taken.

Going back like you and I do, I remember making good money on the USFL in the 3 years it was out. While it was a totally different game then with street books all buying the same lines from a service and few betting options, they never got the USFL totally right. The public bet the big names and teams and many times the line makers overreacted.

I don’t see as many household names with the XFL other than Jones and Murray but the opportunity may still be there as a contrarian.

Anyways good to hear from you and best wishes!

Hey Boz, good to hear from you. Yes, I remember the USFL (and Chuck Fusina). I did well in the USFL, and in the WFL. I took a stab at the AAF last year. The first game I bet, I had something like a four point dog up 10 with six minutes and lost in miraculous fashion. Well, that turned my stomach, and I sat out a few games after that, but then went back at it and won the next seven in a row. It broke my heart, and Steve Spurrier's, when they pulled the plug. By the way, I jog over at Steve Spurrier Field here in Johnson City.

I think the XFL has some real good quarterbacking, certainly better than the AAF by a wide margin. The problem is that some teams have stockpiled multiple good QB's, and a couple of teams not so lucky. We shall see. There are some serious discrepancies in opening futures at various offshores, but I'm not biting yet.

    Great to hear from you!

The Chiefs WON! I called it perfectly! Woohoo! They started off losing, and I was feeling doubt, but they won with a couple of big hits at the very end!

Has there ever been a larger litany of excuses for not doing something than redietz just came up with in this post? And how many times can the guy toot his own horn while discussing his betting strategies AFTER THE GAMES ARE OVER!

Any doubt why kew and he get along so well?
