For those interested in long-term effects:

    https://www.healthcentral.com/articl...ts-coronavirus

Or you could take Boz's word for it.

Meanwhile, what I have actually said, not paraphrasing, is that mortality rates should go down for the following reasons:

    1) It is not in a virus's long-term best interests to kill a lot of hosts.
    2) Since many of the most at-risk have already died, by definition, the mortality rate should go down.
    3) Health care professionals learn what does or does not work, so treatment and care should improve.

Having said that, to this point, the mortality rate in the U.S. has been more than 4%. As I said, directly quoting, "this is undoubtedly" high, as not much testing has been done, given the population.

The Box likes to paraphrase when he cannot find supportive direct quotes. If he had found supportive direct quotes, he would have used them.

For tips on how to watch television news, I suggest my rather disdainful blog entry: https://theskepticalgambler.blogspot...atch-news.html

A virus has a “long term best interest”? And acts toward it, naturally in a way to justify your silly vision of it.

You truly are an idiot RED, and not just any normal idiot, perhaps the biggest idiot out there.

I don’t take the time to find quotes, because almost everyone you make is to further your agenda. Nothing more.

And as I have said many times, I’ll never understand how someone like you ended up this bitter, broke, angry old man living in TN getting off wishing for more deaths. Had to be a lot of missteps along the road of your life to end up like this. Maybe it’s typical for liberals, always looking for someone like to government to fix a lifetime of bad decisions. I do feel sad for what you have become and where you ended up.

Lesson to kids, end up like MDawg, not RED.

    It is a good day!

Just holding TSLA, AMZN, NFLX etc. would have been enough, but I also did a TSLA trade for extra shares for some extra on the big dip that just happened.

I was thinking, in at 1692, then cancelled and lowered to 1688, cancelled that too, finally went in at 1684 and filled. Sold at 1691 (following a scary dip even lower but it went down and up so fast I didn't need to think too hard about averaging in more shares).

Yes that's $1.2M of TSLA in one single trade. Booked $4900. extra dollars out of thin air, so to speak. Oh, let me move to the side so that jbjb may get a clearer picture.

And now it's 1702. MDawg's trades tend to be like that...leaving money on the table. But that's the way you want to be. If you end up barely scraping by on each trade that's a sign that you're pushing it. Leaving money on the table is the sign of a trader who plays it safe.

I'll be back at it again if another high probability trade becomes apparent.

I tend to try to go about a _____ per chunk. Then if I need to average in, I have more chunks available.

What's "funny" is that just a week ago, a "chunk" of TSLA was about 1000 shares and today it is more like 600. WOW.

But lately averaging in hasn't been too necessary.

Seriously, riding a trade is sometimes more exciting than holding a Bank nine at table limit when she opens an eight against you. Slam! those winning cards down.

Well, creative writing from someone with talent.

That sounds like a compliment, that rarest of remarks at VCT. Thanks.

Note that you have have to copy over the quote above, to see Oop's remark.

I must have been one of the first to see through the Wizard scam. On one forum, way back then, the Gamblers' Glen, I started a thread about it. Nothing but jeers, etc, came my way. If I recall, DeMango (House of Orange) was one of the "critics". He was into the baccarat scene over there.

Look, what has he been reduced to at the Wizards? I mean, it's hard to admit to being wrong, and, even harder when you haven't started to admit to it, yet. In any event, just like Freddy, who can't even acknowledge such posts. Then there are the loud mouth so-called lawyers and business persons. No real life experience. No response to the real questions because, well, they are not real.

In the real world, the one Trump said always was this way, this is how it works. Literally no one will really and actually stand for anything.

I waited how many years, for someone to acknowledge this bit of truth. It was well worth the wait.

HOLD THOSE LONG TERM SHARES. If TSLA reports a profit next week, it might get into the S&P 500. Hello 2000!

Against the backdrop of that S&P possibility, trading the dips of TSLA long, seem very high probability.

I like to think of myself as a fun dude.

Some further issues with The Boz's information:

If you've been following the statistic reporting in the U.S. for the last month or so, you'll notice that it has been raggedy. Sundays, for example, are routine under-reporting in both cases and deaths in most states and for the country as a whole. Deaths "catch up" early the next week. Depending on whether it's a holiday weekend, numbers gets delayed and sorted out on Mondays or Tuesdays. So when Boz cherry picks a Sunday number, that would be what one one would do if you were trying to make a case for something.

Also, interestingly, if you check the CNN "death count" as compared to other sources, CNN has been bending over backwards to provide the lower Johns Hopkins count. They are being pristine in providing the lowest end of the various tallies. CNN, in fact, when compared to other sources, has been running 1,500 to 3,000 behind. So the idea that CNN and Johns Hopkins are exaggerating numbers is very far from the truth. Don't take my word for it. Check the CNN numbers versus other tallies.

As for being broke, it's all in the eye of the beholder. Compared to Gary, for example, who's featured in some photos in my Retro Road Trip thread, I'm perpetually broke. Good thing I can pull a Thomas Magnum and borrow one of his cars when I need it. Unfortunately, there are youtube videos somewhere of me driving the Lambo and getting mercilessly ribbed for not going more than 30 mph when off the freeway. I mean, really Boz, I have a 3,000 pound library, and that's because I gave away almost 2,000 pounds of books. Do you have any idea what that library cost?

If you took the advice you gave in the blog you would never watch CNN or MSNBC again. Your blogs have the common theme/drivel about how smart you are and how dumb everyone else is. You've become insufferable. I'm really getting tired of reading it. You are getting awfully close to my ignore list.

Thanks, MDawg. How broke I am depends on which of me you check, if you get my drift. Sad but true.

And, to be precise, the 3000 pound library is not counting comic books. That's probably another 1000-1200 pounds.

Since you (almost) asked. MSNBC is too shrill for my tastes. CNN -- I love Wolf Blitzer and like Anderson Cooper. Not thrilled with Cuomo. Lemon is too preachy for me, but that's a response to the Trump nonsense regarding CNN. Overall, too many profiles and one-on-one interviews. Should be more town halls with experts. Fox -- horrific. Their collection of guests is filled with outliers and non-experts. It's only a matter of time until people sue Fox based on the studies done that strongly imply cause-and-effect between watching Fox and disbelief in covid. Those lawsuits, when they come, will calm Fox down.

You know, mickey, you and Boz have gotten zero correct regarding COVID-19. I got just about everything right. The worst I did was estimating July 4 for 137,000 deaths as opposed to the IHME estimate of August 4.

So who's doing people a service versus a disservice? You two getting everything wrong while waving a flag, or me getting everything right while not waving a flag?

At least you will have something to burn when it gets too cold. And why is it far left fringe liberals like you and Broke Billy have big comic book collections? The answer writes itself when one realizes you both live in an alternative reality with your beliefs.

As for me using weekend numbers, we can go back to the 143,000 tests, 15,000 positives and 45 deaths reported 2 days ago. Only shows a lower death rate in Florida.

  13. #1393
Yeah, you know, Boz -- probably not the brightest idea to assume you know long-term effects for a new disease. Disease has been around five months, so you just decide you know it has no long term effects. You pin your family's health on the assumption that a new disease, which has been radically different from previous viruses, has no long-term consequences? Not the percentage move. Just a thought.

Lol. If you can't handle what I say, then what of the casinos? Yes, that's right, go complain to Todd, the guy who couldn't handle a real fake Bus signature. Are all of you guys this insecure?

Why not have Todd make up some threads and posts, from me, the way that JB (Admin) did, over at the Wizard's? Why not have the members here make up other stuff about me, the way that some of the main members there did?

Problem is, most of you guys can't "stomach" the truth.

I'm proclaiming it must be a sordid collection of homos, lowlife foreigners, minorities, and USA haters like redietz that are getting covid, because we've been to Nevada and California bars and restaurants, lots of Nevada casinos, several backyard gatherings, and just about any other place that's open. And in ZERO cases have we ever even HEARD of anyone who knows anyone with this disease....let alone have it.

People here say those of us who are older are much more susceptible to getting it. B freaking S! We're healthy, responsible adults--not a couple of fag-lovers like redietz. I can see why he's so concerned. He actually believes a story-concocter like kew has Covid, and his homo "Boeing exec" friend in S. Cal who rides busses just to get at little boys and wears tippy-toe loafers are similarly infected.

Wise up libtards. Don't wait for your confused and corrupted hearts to be irreparably broken again on Nov. 3rd.
