I suppose I just didn't realize how much it bothered me that anyone would tip a measly five bucks after a winning session at a high limit table. Better to tip zero.

No. One time I did thinking I would get better (quicker) pays but next Jackpot a different person showed up. Tipped them and next Jackpot a new person showed up.

What am I tipping for? They have to get my money one way or the other.

As for handpays, the Cosmo has it right with their fast pay system. File in advance with them and enter a pin when you hit and collect the paperwork later as the credits are added to the machine.

Hard Rock AC has that system as well for jackpots under 10K.

Anything 10K or over still gets hand delivered.

I'm not saying they are acting logical. Just that hard rock management has interpreted the situation to want to avoid possible issues.

Example:

Hard Rock AC you can have more than $3000 in a slot machine (can't insert it but if you have $2900 and win $1000 you will have $3900 playable

Tropicana if you have $2900 and win $1000 spin the slot Will lock up and require a hand pay for the amount over ($900 in this case)

Ceasars I believe is in the middle. You can't have $3000+ in the slot so in the above scenario you would get a voucher printed for the difference (it's been awhile since I had that happen so maybe it's different now)

These are all based on reporting issues. For example, if you go to the post office and purchase over $3000 in money orders Federal law is they have to get your ID, take your photo and file a report (happened to me a month ago so trust me).

It's no coincidence that $3000 and $10,000 are the magical numbers. And casino staff are just trying to interpret and avoid issues as they see fit
