Thread: Another day in QQQQ Chicago Brewing

  1. #1
I've been in Vegas for close to 2 weeks now. I've mostly been losing, sometimes hemorrhaging money. I did win a couple hundred one day at MSS, and took a day off gambling to get drunk at brewpubs. Saturday I had a nice run playing quarter progressive 9/6 DDB. At 10:30 PM at Chicago Brewing I drew 3 more Aces and a Kicker for $566. The very next hand I Drew to 2 Aces and got the other 2 for $212. After drawing quad Queens and Kings, I was dealt 4 Aces at 12:33. I drew a 5 for $221. I hit 5's before I quite for the night. I felt like a winner, but I was only even for the day and down $2,900 for the trip. That's kind of a lot for a mostly quarter player.
Normally I play .50c JOB or 10/6/40 DDP at QQQQ's. My $7K trip bankroll was so depleted, that I was playing .25c 9/6 DDB instead. I had still been losing, but at a slower rate. I started kind of late. A 12 day losing streak tends to sap some of my enthusiasm. In addition to my own $2,900, I had also burned through $550 in FP. Intellectually, I knew that this would pass, but it felt like I may never win again. It wasn't that I was depressed. I've travelled this road before, but I was looking for an exit ramp.
Sunday afternoon, I left my room with an $1,100 session roll. If I lost it I would reevaluate. I considered switching to JOB, but headed back to Chicago Brewing for another shot a DDB first.
I ordered a Baily's and coffee and started playing at 12:45PM. I lost my $100 buy in at 1:12. I put another $100 in and drew a 4th King at 1:21 for $63.50, and a 4th Queen at 1:36 for $63. At 1:43 I hit Aces for $203. My Tito dropped to $300 at 1:46 and I cashed out. I lost my new $100 buy in at 2:09. I considered switching to JOB, but put another $100 in. At 2:32 I drew a 4th 2 and a kicker for $259.50 and hit 4's for $115 at 2:41. I hit Kings at 2:55 for $68.50 and cashed out at 3:05 when my TITO dropped to $400. I hit Queens at 3:32 for $63. Things picked up a little after that.
I was distracted a bit by a woman getting a salad at the bar. I commented that that was healthiest thing I had ever seen eaten at that bar. She admitted that she also had a pizza coming. World order restored.
At 4:19 I held an Ace and got 3 more and a kicker on the draw for $557. It surprised my almost as much as seeing a salad at the bar. At 4:27 I drew the other 2 Aces for $217. I hit 3's for at 4:51 for $112, 2's at 5:17 for $107, Aces at 5:26 for $211, 8's at 5:19 for $68.50 and Jacks at 5:52 for $63. A senior bartender, Mike, came in and asked me how I was doing. When I asked him if he really wanted to know, he replied "sort of." I appreciated the honesty and told him anyway. I hit K's at 6:14 for $66.75 and cashed out a $500 TITO. Things picked up a little after that.
I had been drinking. The day started with a baily's and coffee, progressed to 20oz IPA's and was currently on white Russians infused with vanilla vodka. I had lost track of winnings and was having trouble selecting the far left card. I wasn't exactly sharp, but I was winning and played on.
I lost my new hundred at 7:09. I hit 7's at 7:16 for $64.50, 10's at 7:36 for $64. At 8:35 I was dealt queens. I knew the person next to me, so I let the progressive grow a bit while I went to the bathroom. I hit 6's for $64.50 at 9:00 and cashed out my TITO. I lost the new buy in at 10:38.
At 11:20 I was dealt a K,Q of Hearts and drew the other 3 for $1,000. By now the bartenders knew that I was on a quarter run and were pretty supportive. I usually tip the bar $20 when I hit a RF. My white Russian bartender had just gotten off and was eating dinner at the bar, I asked Mike if he would split the tip, asked for change and handed him a hundred. He didn't hear the change part and it was awkward when I clarified. Later I thought that I should have just let them have the $100. They were great and it had been a slow tip night.
At 11:28 I was dealt 2's for $100.75 and 8's for $63.75 at 11:52. As the other bartender was leaving, I hit Aces again at 12:35.
I told the bartenders that I had hit Aces again and gave them the other $80. They were hyper appreciative.
I drew a 4th deuce with a kicker at 12:40 for $270. I had switched to their seasonal tap which was a Belgium Trippel at around 9%. This would normally be sold in snifters, but I was drinking 14oz and 20oz servings. It was seeming a little surreal. I wouldn't normally try this at home. I hit 9's for $64 and cashed out a TITO.
Mike closed the bar, but let me play on. At 1:38 I lost my hundred as the slot tech hovered to shot down my machine.
I'd won $2,500 over 13 straight hours. I'm still down $500 for the trip, but am feeling pretty hyped about where the day has taken me.. I still had about 18oz of high octane beer left, so I decided to write this as I drank it.

There is nothing a casino or bar owner likes more than a gambler who drinks while they're playing. These same people cash checks at cages, use casino ATM's, think casino hosts ate their good friends at their "home away from homes", and they tip like crazy thinking the nobody they just gave it to thinks they're so wonderful.

Who brings a $7000 gambling bankroll to downtown LV to play quarters?

That’s a great run Wasilla. Thanks for all your precise details. It’s almost like I was at your side. I would have been tempted to increase to 50 cent but you’re more disciplined than I.

Don’t forget to collect your Jeweled Rat at QQQQ for CNY.

Thanks. Shows that where there are credits, there is hope. I considered jumping up several times, but .50c and $1 credits can evaporate so quickly in that game that I chickened out. I was also getting a lot of progressive money with a quad run, and didn't want to lose the extra EV. I had forgotten about the Jeweled Rat. Thanks for the reminder.

PS Don't let any casino hosts eat your good friends.

You might also be eligible for a Jeweled Rat at Binions too. But I would ask at that club booth to verify eligibility before I earned the 1,000 points.

BTW, during the "Big Game" weekend I was losing at QQQQ then hit this AWAK at Chicago Brewing Company bar and all of a sudden, I was winning. I celebrated with a mug of homemade rootbeer and vanilla vodka and pulled in my horns for the rest of the weekend to make sure I came home a winner. I was attracted to the 10/6 DDB game at QQQQ even though it was not a progressive.

I'm back in Vegas for an 11 night trip and have two 3 night stays at 4Q's. I don't think that many of you are too interested in anymore of my gambling stories, but I'll offer an update on conditions.

The casino has alternate machines shut down. That means that Chicago Brewing machines are at a premium with only 4 seats available. My first 2 days there, a group of 4 got in before opening time and pitched a tent into late afternoon. I was able to find a place after that. The new hours are 11:30 to 11:00. Their rotating tap is some double Hawaiian. I like the beer, but can't identify the style. Perhaps half the BT's are working. There is less smoke than usual. I didn't se menus, but the food seem the same.

Magnolia's is open 7 to 11:00. They had available tables during the couple times I ate there.

Hugo's had regular hours. I ate there twice and it was easy to get a table.

Mike's Bar (Palace Bar) was closed. I did most of my play there. Sometimes it was a good place for socially distant machine play, but it also drew at a lot of people who just wanted to hang out. I could be alone one minute and surrounded by an unmasked boisterous crowd the next. It was quietest early morning.

For those that don't know, 4Q's has run a June, July, and August promotion where you can get up to $400 FP per month. This is the same as their normal June promotion and adds 1.25 % to your return. Binion's has the same promotion.

I think that they are only operating their south tower. Rooms are no longer cleaned during a stay and the Go Green food credit is gone

Despite the mandate, masks were optional at 4Q's. There were lots of unmasked or semi masked people. Most were just trying to breath easier, but many were yelling. talking loud, encroaching on space, etc. If you were hoping to come here, wear a mask among other masked people in a low risk environment, you're sure to be disappointed.

Your story was really in detail and enthralling
It reminds me of a guy who said he was down about $400 for a Trip and did a crazy, really out there bet and won $384 on that crazy bet. He was excited to be only $16 down when he was down almost $400 just seconds before

Take comfort in the fact that no one is actually backing up his wishes to have you permanantly banned.

Smart is knowing a Tomato is a fruit.

Wise is knowing a Tomato doesn't belong in a fruit salad.

I am glad to get my full posting rights back! Thank you Dan!

    You are such a hypocrite!
Here he is explaining how nobody cares to wear a mask at the 4 Queens.
He is drinking, eating, playing at the bar and dining at Hugo's.
Instead of giving us the normal bullshit about how the Chinese Flu is going to wipe out the world you are here congratulating his post.
Congrats to wasillia for playing in an unmasked environment and sticking to the grind.
That game has crazy swings and the more he plays the more likely he will be in the positive.

Hey Monet. I actually wear a mask and expected that others would be when I flew in. I wanted to give people an idea of what to expect if they come here. I have experience in a few other casinos. They're all a bit different, so instead of overgeneralizing. I figured I'd describe them one at a time. I know you play 4Q's and would certainly like your input about what you see. I'd peg the over under on mask wearing at 4Q's at 60%. I'm talking machine players, wanderers, and loiters. I didn't notice what was going down at tables.Nobody but servers were wearing masks at Hugo's and Magnolia's, but there was a lot of space and conversations were muted. On the casino floor, however, unmasked people were hooting and hollering and crowding up to strangers. I was fine at Hugo's, but I moved several times and sometimes donned a n95 mask on the casino floor. Otherwise I wore a surgical mask that I could easily pull down to drink and allowed easier breathing.
With all the amped up offers, I've got FP raining down on me and Vegas was still kicking my ass until today. Variance can be tough and I agree that you have to be willing to grind.

4Q's offers upped their food credits and also included a $150 Hugo's voucher. It was a good opportunity to have more splash out dinners. One night I had their seafood trio of scallops, shrimp, and salmon. It was excellent. A couple days later I ordered a $125 pair of lobster tails. I've had better lobster at the Fremont's Tony Roma's special. The chocolate mouse cake was excellent though.

I was trying to max promotions at 4q's and Binion's. I played mostly .50c 10/6 DDB at 4Q's and .50c 8/6 BP and virtual table games at Binion's. I lost $500 on the table games and another $1,400 on VP after 3 days. I had also burned through $490 FP. This was on $64,000 coin in. It wasn't a great run. I didn't see any aces, but did get some kickers. The promotions are generous and I walked away with $800 FP and $200 in points to try again in a few days. If you want more detail, I have a painstakingly detailed trip report going on at VMB.

Thank you Tasha. I'm also hoping for a comeback, but I generally grind mine out. No crazy bets for me.

The only thing more boring than a gambler is a gambling trip report. Ha, now in the age of the virus.

As much as I enjoy the trash-talking and trolling, I do enjoy a good Vegas VP trip report. Keep us posted.

You gotta hand it to Red. The most anonymous non-anonymous poster on here. Remember the "package"? Nobody could, ever, find out anything out about him. As far as I know, he never posted up any sports predictions. So now, he's trying to predict the virus. Too bad there isn't a sport called the virus to bet on.

Wasilla I had the beef Wellington at Hugo's Cellar, it was pretty good.

Did you say there was ".50c 8/6 BP" at Binions? It that a typo as I only found 8/5 BP there?

I agree the promotions at 4Qs and Binions are attractive.

Sorry. Of course I meant 8/5 BP. If I ever do find it at 8/6, I'll PM you. I need to take more time with my editing. Thanks for the correction. I'll keep your Hugo's recommendation in mind for my next trip.
