Thread: IGT’s Ocean Magic Ultra

Can IGT make this game any more complex to analyze?

The game is described in this video:

New feature to consider is two adjacent bubbles that can merge to form a “super bubble” or 2x2 bubble from OM Grand. Game now awards $10K in top prize (from prize wheel) so the base game must really suck. Do we really need a “Whale” feature similar to Dragon Sphere?

Nice addition is ability to change soundtrack to one of three choices.

Don’t expect to make money like OM or OM Grand. You’ll make money if you get lucky and get prize wheel or get enough equity left by a Ploppy, but you need to be realistic given all these new features take away from base game. I also suspect the bonus rounds took a hit to help pay for new features.

A buddy text me to say: top row of wagers are $0.60 vs $0.50 so the wagers are 20% greater than OM & OM Grand. Same for bottom wagers: $1.20 vs $1.00 for the “bubble boost mode”.

So that 20% extra wager, other things being equal, may help explain how the $10K prize and other extra features are being paid. You don’t get something for nothing.

Been watching this game and most of the time the bubbles just disappear instead of rising to the top.

In what state are you watching these? (Serious question... it matters.)

Not to answer for him, but for me personally I watch them in a very inebriated state. Do you think that may be why they disappearing?

I don't want to reveal the location as this could be a cheat move by the casino.

    I can assure you that:

    1) I wasn't inebriated as I don't drink or do drugs.
    2) The bubbles sometimes did disappear instead of floating to the top.

I will see if I can get pictures of this.

I'm guessing you're in either Missouri, Pennsylvania, or Washington State.

There are versions of all the Ocean Magic variants where the bubbles disappear, and they are used in states where vulturables aren't allowed, specifically MO and PA. Washington state is weird with their rules... I've only been in one WA casino so small sample size, but in that one the bubbles disappeared on OM but the aladdins behaved as normal.

Something about the gaming regs in MO and PA require the house edge to be the same over the player on every spin, although they aren't worded identically as MHB progressives are allowed in PA but not in MO.

There may be other states I'm not aware of where this is also the case.

Point being I doubt it's a cheating thing.

I guess MO and PA don't have UX. Great info.

Could be that type of machine. I'll look later today.

Interesting JBJB. I wonder how they neuter it to conform to state law. As you know, even 10 coin bets can be +EV if all hands are covered and with at least one 3x.
    thanks.

Dunno. UX in those states perform just as normal.

As for OMU, I just played on the 60 cent level with the Bubble Burst activated for a total of $1.20 bet. Every single bubble that came up for a spin disappears for the next spin.

It sounds like the state legislators only know certain plays ;-)
