Thread: What Are You Doing During The Coronapocalypse?

  1. #21
Currently, I frequently go to the largest grocery store in the area were I live, and every time I go there more and more aisles are closing down. People are walking around dumbfounded and it is only a matter of time till tempers start flairing up. This situation is really starting to get scarry. My wife and I are watching a lot of fox news, and taking it easy for now trying to figure out our next move.

Nobody should be just sitting around during this gaining weight. Sure it's tough and boring to not be able to do basically anything. But this especially is when you pump it up a little more than you normally do. You can exercise in your homes and go for walks. We take our dog out twice a day for at least a mile. Do things like this and not only will your body feel great--your mind will too. And that is the key.

Beans are one of the more powerfully good foods we can consume. I made a crockpot full of bean-heavy chili two weeks ago. It may be bombs-away but they're worth it.
My son started on the jump rope so I thought I'd try. Almost died! He told me he started off walking first. That got me going and my back aches disappeared, bp went down, and a general feeling of calmness. I,too added beans to a hamburger stew and it made the stew last longer. Also, guess what vegetables they're leaving on the shelves? Red,kidney, and.pinto beans! Also, frozen vegetables are being overlooked. When steamed, broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, etc. literally melt in your mouth.

    Not to worry!!
We have a never ending food supply!
Should all be over in 2 to 4 weeks!!

They are starting to run the numbers and to save ONE American Life is going to cost lol... 45 Million!
So eventually they will just have to give up and let everyone catch it and go from there.
At least they gave us some time to stock up a bit.

Your next best move would to stay away from grocery stores where a lot of blacks go. That is self-explanatory, regardless of the phony self-aggrandizing that may result.

Haven't tried the impossible whoppers yet. Next time. I'm actually doing pretty good with the weight. A month ago I weighed 247. I'm down to 236. I have to weigh myself everyday and enter it into a log book. I've been at 236 for a week. It has to do with one of the issues I have which is water retention in the lower legs and feet. Gaining a few pounds overnight can be all fluid so I then increase my dose of furosemide for the day. With furosemide you can dehydrate yourself so you have to watch it.

I think that the main thing to remember, with grocery stores, and the like is not the number of people inside, at any given time, but, the number of persons that have gone through it, over the course of the day.

What's weird is that the impossible burgers are no cheaper than the regular ones. Not only that, but the two for one coupons are always for the beef burgers (Burger King, Carls Jr. etc.) - so for now, I just use the two for one beef burger coupons and get beef burgers for half off.

BBQ'ed 2 times, went shooting, AP'ing online casinos, home improvement stuff, online chess, watching better call saul, called old friends and family members on the phone and chatted for while. There's a bunch of blackjack players/AP's doing group voice/text chat (50% is busting Zenkings balls) I finally decided to join that. Honestly, I prefer being at home just chilling most of the time. I normally get breakfast in bed a couple times a week my wife will make some kind of desserts three times a week I've gotten breakfast in bread and a new type of dessert everyday thus far.

As long as I have decent food, electricity and internet, I'm in heaven. I thought I wouldn't feel guilty about sleeping more than normal, but I kind of did feel guilty the other day as I was thinking I should be online making some money instead of being too lazy.

If you want a good laugh and have a twisted sense of humor like I do I suggest you go over to Ebay.
Search Toilet Paper and see how high the prices are.
Read the 1 star low comments.
People bashing the sellers for price gouging and wishing cancer on them lol lol lol.
150 dollars + 65 dollars shipping for 8 rolls lol lol lol.
People asking 5000 dollars as the proceeds go to charity.
All kind of funny little highjinks.
Sorry if this sort of thing makes your blood boil but I kinda find it funny.
The great gold rush of toilet paper 2020!
I lived it I was there!!

You can put up a sell price of anything on Ebay, doesn't mean thats the actual market price.

My gf got a bunch of root vegetables from someone. We've been eating ok. Had salmon a lot becuse might as well eat well (not that salmon is splurging.. but made sure to get some). The fridge/freezer here is small but I have a family member who has 0 kids and 3 freezers full of venison etc. Really been eating pretty well. I'm going to go to Wal-Mart tomorrow and see how it is. Maybe I'll hit up the liquor store and buy several bottles. Not a big drinker, but having something to sip on can be nice and it'll keep. Going to buy more corned beef and such as our freezer is fairly small. The corned beef seems to keep quite a long time without needing to be frozen. I'm going to go through all my ammo I've picked up and split it up across a few spots. Start keeping a rifle with me. Might as well.

Actually I'm looking to go forward with a solar project. I have a small RV I bought with a solar panel rig on it but it is too small for climate control. I want to have a full grid I can move around. Enough to power the AC in the RV. You can use tesla batteries from totalled cars to get a lot of capacity. I'm not hooking the solar into the grid so I don't have to worry about any government interference. 5k and I can have a really nice system. Buy some solar panels locally, order the controller and battery off the internet.

I'm going to go through all my ammo and split it up across various places. Secure things a bit better in general as I think crime rate will go up. I also plan on buying some more food that doesn't require refrigeration.

Business has shot way down. Figuring out what I'm needing to do. My business should be resistant to this to some degree, but people are just not doing much.

I bought n95 masks when they were still available and have been given some with the valves. (The valves aren't good if you have it, but they help the exhale) Wearing them out is a weird experience and I reserve them for grocery store. I think putting some weird smile iwth a marker would just make people more nervous. lol.

You would think so huh... but turns out in a National Emergency it is actually against the law to Price Gouge Essential Items.
Some debate that TP is and some say it isn't.
I'm not sure but I do know that Ebay, Amazon... etc etc are asking people to report the sellers if the price isn't reasonable.
    They are deleting those posts/accounts.
Charging people 200 dollars for TP is currently against their policy along with other items.
    I don't really care personally.
I say free market and they should be able to raise the price up to 10 or 20x what they paid for it.
Guy got in trouble over hand sanitizer actually and decided to donate it all... something like 17k worth.

I assume there would be more activity on this thread, I guess if you're not doing anything, there's really nothing to say.

So the marina where we have our boat shut down today, so filling my days on or working on the boat is over for now.

Unrelated, last week I had what I thought was a months supply of food. A week later, we still have plenty of food, enough meals, chicken, beef, noodles, potatoes, microwave meals and burgers, cereal, oatmeal, everything....except now I have already depleted the supply of junk food, ice cream, snack cakes, ect. Still have some cookies but they will be next to run out. I guess time to start eating healthier, since all the junk is almost gone.

So I am a little confused. Are airlines currently flying domestically? If the answer is yes, the question that immediately comes to mind is how are they able to have passengers 6 feet apart? I mean maybe if the airplanes are 20% full, which might be the case, I guess.

So I have a trip booked for early / mid June, which I haven't given a lot of thought about. Still nearly 3 months away. Thought I would wait and see what happens between now and then. But end of last week I received an email from the airline, Frontier, encouraging me to cancel that active reservation. They were offering a full credit for the trip, good through 12/31 and an additional $100 credit also good thru 12/31. I ignored the first email because as I said, I sort of just figured I would see what happens between now and then.

Today I received another email, upping the offer if I cancel to full credit plus additional $200 credit. What is going on? why are they so anxious for me to cancel? I mean if they are cancelling flights, they should just do so. Why are they trying to entice me to cancel on my end?
