Thread: Las Vegas Grocery Store Update

  1. #61
Went to Albertsons today and yesterday never wearing a mask.
I didn't see too many shoppers wearing them.
The virus is dead in Vegas.

Yesterday I made Jambalaya with Chicken and Sausage.
As usual I made too much roux as I was trying to double or triple the recipe.
I ended up with 4 Pyrex Glass Containers full of Rice.
For some reason, I am always cooking for a party of 20 but only have 3 at the dinner table.

Today I bought some shrimp and made a quick butter, wine, garlic and lemon sauce.
The dishes turned out looking like something EvenBob makes every day.
Just a glob of one color.
I needed some green onions or parsley to brighten it up but was too lazy for that.
Whatever, the taste is there but I need to work on the plating.
I just hope I didn't break some sort of rule with this post or mcap will be back in here bitching up a storm.

The virus isn’t dead, it was never a thing. It was a media creation that many fell for including Trump. Sadly many fell for it and will never recover, mostly small business owners. Others, like in any situation, found a way to profit from it. With no regards for others but not my place to judge them.

Yes many died from it based on some questionable decisions but it still comes down to most of us 99+% of us were never at risk of dying. And had a better chance of dying in a car crash going to the grocery store.

That all said, it just took one rogue cop and thousands of opportunistic looters to take it out of the news. You can never argue the media doesn’t control the narrative in the country.

They even weaved the Chinese Flu into George Floyd.
Of course he was asymptomatic with no lung damage.
I like how this George Floyd went from Sinner to Saint because of his death.
    Down with whitey I suppose!
The Dow Jones is back up over 26,000 points so not sure how Trump can lose?

He shouldn’t based on the numbers, and I believe this is only making his supporters stronger in their beliefs. Will still come down to 4-5 states and with the right ads, he should be able to squeeze by.

And debates with the senile old man can only help.

We all heard the numbers back in 2016 and those numbers were wrong?
It really doesn't matter to me who wins.
With Trump or Biden in the White House it is going to be entertaining either way.

Trump's goose is cooked. Dow down over 1,800 points today, and this is just the beginning.

The Dow Jones was around 17,000 points when Trump took office.

I enjoyed some homemade Việt Cộng Breakfast with my slant eyed wife this morning!
I simmered the Pho Broth for about 20 hours this time.
I tried not to slurp but she has no Western Manners as she slurped the most and the loudest.

    Nice of you to say.
I went to mcap's favorite today, El Super.
No mask to me but I'd say 85/90% of the people were masked up.
I was surprised that my cashier had no mask on.
I guess it isn't mandatory for them.
Not sure what happened because a month or so ago they forced you to wear a mask in that store?
    Anyways...
Bought a bunch of stuff for today's cookout and the freezer.
You'd be surprised of the amount of work I put in just to make 3 dishes.
Here is a couple pictures as these bowls have been chilling for the last few hours.
Chipotle Sweet Potato Salad and Chilled Avocado Soup.
I decided to add Red Onion, Red Pepper, Celery and Parsley to the Salad.
I modified the soup and going to mix in diced cucumber when serving.
I'm getting ready to fire up the chimney and grill.
    It's only 108 F today so yeah

The soup looks more like a dip. I never saw a thick soup like that. Then again I don't think I've ever had a cold soup before.

    That pho looks amazing.

    You make a good point.
I think I needed to thin it out more.
It had great cooling effect when the palate got too spicy.
The diced cucumbers helped as well.
I forgot how fun it is to grill with lump charcoal.
    The Chicken came out great.
Probably was a shame to hide it inside of quesadillas.
I also grilled up some corn on the cob and peaches.
The Sweet Potato Salad was good but kinda odd.
I think I prefer using Red Potatoes or Yukon Gold.
All I can do is keep trying.
Below is my picture and a comparison of 4 professional Avocado Soup pictures.
    Yup, not thinned out enough.
Probably could of used some milk or buttermilk to lighten it up.
    Mine looks like shit.
Come to think of it so does the picture of the Quesadillas and Sweet Potato Salad.
    Fuck... I need more practice.
Interesting note that Gazpacho Chilled Soup tastes like Salsa and this Chilled Avocado Soup tastes like Guacamole Yogurt.
Bah, whatever, time to do the dishes because I'm domesticated and whipped!
