Well I see you deleted the typical nasty Singer post you made. You really don't deserve an answer from me. You don't deserve anyone to treat you with anything but contempt. If you have forgotten how irrelevant you are and how no one believes anything you say, I have included a couple reminders at the bottom of this post.

The repubs tried to minimize the payouts to workers. The original proposal, Trumps proposal last week called for (2) $1200 payouts, one in early April and a second in mid May. Republicans knocked that down to a single payment.

Also as I posted about over the weekend, the original proposal drafted by McConnell and the repubs, skipped over the most vulnerable people, Seniors on Social security and low income workers, who didn't earn enough to pay or file taxes. I mean this was a relief bill to help people make ends meet during this crisis and the repubs intentionally left out the most vulnerable, low income and seniors who live check to check and likely have little or no savings to fall back on.

Instead the repubs wanted what has been termed a "slush fund" to dole out to certain donar-freindly businesses, with absolutely no oversight. Trump declared HE would be the oversight, for which almost no one could keep a straight face. I'll bet the Trump businesses would have come out of this crisis smelling pretty under THAT scenario.

BOTH SIDES PLAY POLITICS! anyone that doesn't acknowledge that simply is not close to being objective.

    Multiple errors again kew.

I didn't delete any posts and I don't know why you'd think an expert poster such as I would do that.

As expected, you danced around the issue so again I'll ask: exactly what items did the Republicans try to include into the bill that have nothing to do with coronavirus? You saw where Pelosi despicably held things up thinking she'd sneak stoopid dem agenda items throughout. But as usual the 80 year old hag got caught. To the delight of many.

This thread reminds me of a book many years ago called How to Lie With Statistics. Sure, the U.S is now number 1 in coronavirus cases with about 90K. But here is another perspective:

    Population of U.S. = 328 million
    Coronavirus Cases = 87,000

Combined population of UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy = 330 million
    Combined Coronavirus Cases = 226,000

Around 9 million people die of hunger and hunger-related diseases every year, more than the lives taken by AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.
Today, some 821 million people suffer chronically from hunger worldwide.
Last Year the world produced enough food to feed more than 10 Billion People in a world of about 7.6 Billion.

Obviously nobody gives a shit but take away their sports (Modern Day Gladiators) and they are ready to revolt lol lol lol.
So tired of hearing people cry about no March Madness, Baseball or all the other luxury bullshit.
Mind you, these are the same people who can't give one dollar to the homeless guy on the street.
They would rather come on here like Boz, Mr V or others telling you how offended they are or how they should be hit in the head with baseball bats.
It seems its ok to ask the taxpayer for 50 Billion Dollars though as the Government pays up to Corporate Entities lol lol lol.

Nice job of lumping us together for effect. About what I would expect from your paranoia filled mind. By the way, I wonder how V is doing? He actually kept his word on staying away from the forums for what he said was his own best financial interest.

Anyways V wanted to bash homeless with a bat. I’m more of the fuck 99% of them based on them making life choices and decisions to end up on the street. I’m also all for helping those who never had the mental or physical ability to become productive enough to take care of theirselves. We all owe them help and can guarantee you that you have no clue how much I have done for that group over the years.

Count me as crying over the lack of baseball, MM and other staples of normal life. As for government money for companies and Americans, I’m all for it. Because I believe in helping those who are in a bad situation though NO fault of their own. People losing their job need help even if they made bad financial choices and don’t have savings, at least they were working and trying. I do not feel bad for anyone who has scammed the system for years and worked for cash not getting a check. You received your check every April when you didn’t pay everything you owed.

All that said, I agree with you on all the other deaths across the world. We as Americans for the most part always valued our lives as more important that some poor kid in Africa. Other than maybe my mother telling me to eat all the food on my plate because some poor kid in Africa is starving 50 years ago.

This will surpass the lower figure in six weeks, not six months. Unless there is a nationwide lockdown, it will surpass the upper figure, and likely by a wide margin.

Look, anyone could insert a clip of President Trump claiming, one month ago, that there were 15 U.S. cases and soon it would approach zero. Nobody else said anything that completely, utterly wrong. It's on tape. Check it out. I'm sure the Democratic party will be running that clip throughout the summer.

But it has nothing to do with what is happening now, which is still a mess.

Only in the world according to redietz do flu deaths suddenly stop and wait around for Coronavirus deaths to catch up.

Your first sentence was right, there is blame to go around. The 2 million dollar relief bill is a perfect example. I saw you point out the Dems trying to get some of their pet agenda in and that was despicable. But the Repubs did the exact same thing and not a peep out of you guys. Politicians are politicians! That's what they do. You would have hoped if ever there was a time to set that aside and just focus on the country, this would have been it, but no....BOTH sides played politics right up until the end and almost had to be forced to do the right thing.
I haven't seen anything on Republicans trying to get pork in the bill. Got a link? I'm not beyond agreeing with Dems. Like Sisolak. At first I was against his banning of hydroxychloroquine. I found out it was still okay to use in hospitals and his move was to protect the supply from hoarding by doctors for themselves, family and friends which was causing shortages. I even posted up online that I agreed with Sisolak.

Do you remember H1N1? It hit in April, 2009. Infected 60 million Americans. 17,000 died. Obama didn't declare an emergency until October after 1100 people died. He never put on a travel ban. He didn't shut down the economy. He received great praise from the media for his handling of the virus. The truth is Obama didn't deserve any praise at all.
To put things in proper mathematical context, the current U.S. death projection for this is 80,000 if current restrictions are tightened up.

In February when they had all those Chinese festivals in New York, and lots of people were staying away, state officials including State Senator John Lieu told New Yorkers to come on down to the festivals, to not worry about the virus, to carry on as normal. And as late as March 11, Bill DeBlasio was saying the same thing to New Yorkers. That's why New York is the hot bed of coronavirus. But all libs want to do is bash Trump.
I just saw the video on this Mickey. Couldn’t believe it, but like just over two weeks ago DeBlasio was calling for New Yorkers to go out, do things and ride the subway. And of course Cuomo never gets any blame from the media about not shutting down earlier. They were more concerned with calling the wuhan virus - racist.

I never had any problem with it being called the Wuhan Virus, as science often names things after points of origin. So if you have Cambrian shale, why not a Wuhan virus?

Give it two weeks, mickey. The way things should turn out, based on population, the final tally should be China, India, U.S. in terms of total number of cases and presumably deaths. Well, China likely fudged their numbers by a good bit, but the U.S. is passing even their un-fudged numbers.

The reason this is a mess is that one would think that the country with the most resources, given a two month heads up, would be better organized and able to ameliorate the stats in their favor. But it's going to go the other way -- the U.S. is looking more and more like another version of Italy.

By the way, mickey, don't you think that it's ironic that, when listing total populations and total cases, you left China out of your summary?

I think you best check the total fatality models and infection rates, not rate of mortality.

No one has said anything stupider? Did you watch the Tucker Carlson video of New York officials begging people to attend the parades in Feruary telling them not to fear the coronavirus? If you didn't watch it then here it is again.
