Thread: Nevada Unemployment Info Not Available

  1. #1
As of this morning (Sunday) there is still no info available from the Nevada Unemployment website about the new federal programs. There is no info about unemployment insurance for sole proprietors or freelancers or gig workers or pro gamblers or anything.

    From the website:

    The CARES Act.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) was signed into law by the President on Friday, March 27, 2020, and we are currently awaiting guidance from the Department of Labor (DOL) to implement the various programs.

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance: Unemployment support for otherwise ineligible workers, including self-employed.

Status: awaiting federal guidance. Last updated 03/31/20

Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation: 13 additional weeks of benefits for unemployment insurance exhaustees.

Status: awaiting federal guidance. Last updated 03/31/20

Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation: An additional $600 added to each week of unemployment insurance or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance.

Status: awaiting federal guidance. Last updated 03/31/20

Why on earth did you start a new thread about a topic YOU were already participating in discussion on in another thread?

Anyway, stories in the Review Journal today and the local Sunday morning news show, reveals some new, not so positive information on the subject. Apparently there is no hope of getting through on the phone lines. I don't know why people wouldn't apply online, but Andrew , said something about "his friend" being instructed to call to complete his application. I have no idea what that is about, but it doesn't sound like he will be able to get through very easily.

So anyway according to the stories today, they are processing the claims in a timely manner, BUT not yet authorizing payments because they don't have the money and don't expect funds from the CARE act (the extra unemployment funds in the corona virus relief bill) for up to 60 days. That is retarted! Typical government crap. I guess that is why I haven't been given an amount yet. My brother is actually a step ahead of me as he received his unemployment debit card yesterday, but no instructions or information, or that "official approval letter" that someone talked about. Apparently that will all come at some point.

Both the article in the Review Journal and the news story indicate that once the state receives the funds from the federal government, everyone would receive back payments from the time they filed. They even went as far to say that usual waiting week is eliminated under this relief bill and new regulations.

So for me, apparently sometime I will receive a debit card (maybe Monday) and sometime after that, but who knows how long, receive more information about how and when I might see any money.

I did the laughing emoji, and for me it is not critical, I have money. I don't need unemployment to survive, but there are many who do need the money to survive, pay rent, pay bills. These people are supposed to wait 60 days? Really? Typical government incompetency.

Just got an email from Atlantis. They've apparently recinded my Do Not Invite status and said they're taking reservations beginning May 1st. That's when they believe they'll be allowed to reopen.

Haven't heard that about any other property yet.

What did you do to get the Do Not Invite? You probably beat them out of some money and didn't blow it back.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

I did, on higher limits several times. But their points accumulation on vp is below pathetic, so I asked for a comp meal at the Manhattan Deli and was refused. Mailings stopped right after that.
