Kj, that’s one of the funniest comments you’ve made in a long time. Made me laugh for a while. Even Bosox’s good friend, Moses, has called him out for not being able to use the quote features correctly.

The thing is you can tell Bosox is smart and has a quick sense of humor so these quote features shouldn’t give him so much trouble, but they do. I think you might be onto something.

And it’s been a little boring for all of us with this “lockdown”, so it might make some of us want to venture off into Tasha’s world and create a bunch of sock puppets. Wouldn’t that be something if these two handles were really Bosox forum detective.

What a twist in the forum drama world? The detective becoming the criminal, so to speak.
Why am I being mentioned in a thread I had absolutely NOTHING to do with?

Tasha, did you read the thread? It was discussing sock puppets. Since this is your area of expertise, it makes sense you’d get mentioned in it.

This is still an unresolved puzzle? Who is gayandlovingit and straightandhatingit? It looks like Bosox cleared his name, or at least he’s got us looking in another direction. Do you have any ideas? Are these two you by any chance?

For Mr Kewlj: I have been reading as much as possible about stimulus money and I've been watching various videos on YouTube also. I admit there is a lot of conflicting info.

I stumbled on this video which supports your idea that pro gamblers in Nevada will get BOTH the $600/week for 13 weeks AND the regular Nevada Unemployment Insurance which you said might be about $400 per month.

Here's the link to the video.

I don't know if this is correct. I'm posting it only for discussion.

Frankly my concern is the $1200. My fingers are crossed I get it in the next week or two.

I'm sure you're aware that the Nevada Unemployment Dept website is supposed to reopen late tonight and will be set up to handle the new benefit claims.

Good luck. Let us know what it tells you and if it asks for proof that you're a bona-fide pro gambler. If it does your Schedule C should be all you need. A schedule C is more vital proof than any casino win/loss statement because as we all know casino records may not be correct and if you don't use a players card you don't have a W/L statement.

The IRS announced that they started direct deposits today. Have you checked your bank account? I didn't get mine, but they said they started today and it will take several days with the people that filed tax returns getting them first (that is me). The next will be senior citizens that collect social security. some time next week. I am guessing that is you. so maybe next week.

I am already tired and not going to fight with the unemployment website tonight. Maybe Monday or Tuesday and see if anything has been updated.

I get my next SS check on Wednesday the 15th of April. We'll see if anything is added on.

    ..........................................

there's no doubt quite a few APs in Nevada who understated (cheated) on their taxes and because of that they're going to get screwed when filing for unemployment because as far as I know they base your payout on your declared earnings

if there are APs throughout the country, and no doubt there are, who payed no taxes and didn't even file (a very foolish thing to do) they will also be SOL on the $1200
    please don't feed the trolls

I REALLY hate to say this, but when MANY people filed this year, the Coronavirus (It was still so new it was only known as Coronavirus and not Covid-19 )thing wasn't a big issue in the US yet. For example, I filed in JANUARY, when the Coronavirus was still ONLY in China, a Country that is in ASIA, which is a DIFFERENT CONTINENT from US(Lmao at US meaning double meanings in this case, , and a lot of people expected it to STAY in China, so the American AP/Professional Gamblers who cheated on their taxes would not have known that the Coronavirus/Covid-19 would ever have effected their Employment. No Casinos, no Work. They wouldn't have known their would be Stimulus Checks ever coming. The People who didn't file at ALL and paid NO taxes at ALL were COMPLETE IDIOTS however. They will be out of that $1,200 check and possibly be up for AUDITS once the IRS finds out they didn't file at ALL and did Tax Evasion. No job and Audit for Tax Evasion. They will be in for fun times. Idiots. :/ Once again, I know that there was no way for the Tax Evaders to know that there was going to be mass Stimulus Checks to help out with the unexpected mass shutdowns due to the CV/COV thing, but they were still stupid to commit Tax Evasion.

Good change, but typically the US is not considered a continent, it is a country like China. North America is a continent.

Just a small quibble, otherwise you made an excellent post!

Yep, very stupid of those AP's to not pay the IRS 20K or 30K or more. Now they ain't gonna get that $1200 check. Fools, I tell you.

There are good reasons a pro gambler should file taxes. Like money in a shoe box isn't worth anything. But that $1200 check they are going to miss out on isn't one of them.

Any pro gamblers ever convicted of tax fraud for not reporting what's in the shoe box?

Just a few from a simple Google search. The bigger issue is by not filing a return is it’s hard to spend the money in any meaningful way. You have no credit, and large cash purchases raise suspicions. If you want to lead a very simple life, renting and not owning much, it’s possible I suppose. But if you are making serious money gambling, or in any activity or business, hiding the cash and not paying taxes makes no sense. Assuming you want a normal middle class life of owning things.

Taxes suck for all of us, and we all want to pay as little as possible. But not paying them or filing a fraudulent return doesn’t make sense for most of us.

Obviously hustlers like Mickeycrimm living out of a shoe box could never relate to or understand why anyone would have a need to hire tax lawyers. Taking advantage of legal tax laws to save a few dollars which are in writing if you know their even there, is a level Mickey will never need to be concerned with.

Most people I know who had tax lawyers got ripped off by the tax lawyers. You did to? Well, stupidity is your long suit.

The one article about the "ten percenter" at the race track. There used to be ten percenters around the video poker teams.

yeah, I used to see the 10 percenters at Laurel race track in Maryland all the time back in the day

actually, the horseplayers at Laurel had a different name for them - they weren't called "10 percenters," they were called "Signers" - because they signed documents acknowledging the win

they were very bold - no attempt at all to disguise what they were doing

it was the black janitors that got the 10% paid the 10% by white guys who hit a big exotic payout

the white guys would stand right next to the black guys signing right in front of the mutuel clerk - the mutuel clerk knew the janitor worked there and didn't win the bet

everybody knew about it - racetrack managers knew about it for sure - it was no secret - crooked as shit

I am reminded of a scene from one of the blackjack movies, I don't think it was the movie "21" from about 12 years ago about the MIT team, but it might be.

So the casino basically is on to the team and moves in to shut them down. The team escapes with all their chips but of course was unable to cash them in. So the casino knows that they are going to attempt to cash out in the coming days so they are on the lookout for that. The next day as 2 or 3 suits stands by the cage looking on, a line of chorus girls, cocktail servers and waitresses, files through the cage each cashing in a few thousand in chips, the premise being that these girls were getting a small percent to do so. Of course in real life the casino could have stopped that because there is some law about cashing in chips that you didn't play, but that wouldn't have made for a good movie scene.

Well, Andrew, I can't get through. Been trying all day. The local evening news says anyone who has already filed need to return to the site and file the claim for the week just ended. Good luck with that. Maybe I will set my alarm for 3am and try them.
