Thread: Waiving Expiration Date ?

  1. #1
Hi does anyone know what the policy will be for TITO vouchers that expire as a result of casino closure ?
I would assume they would waive the expiration date and that they would have to be redeemed at the cage.
I realize polices may differ from casino to casino, so I was just looking for a general consensus for most casinos.
    Thanks.

In my experience that Expiration date is just a legal formality.
In real world experience I have never had a problem cashing in expired tickets.
Not that I have had many but I have found a few worth a few hundred dollars that were 6 months or more expired.

I suppose they could fight it but I doubt it.
I don't think you would have a problem cashing in any ticket from this current problem.
Even if they go out of business they will give everyone time to cash in old tickets, chips and such.
    Just my opinion though.

I've received emails from a couple of casinos that had the same message: the dates being extended. It appears that these casinos will start a new,six month clock starting with the date they reopen as long as your tickets weren't previously expired before the shutdown.

In other words if your casino shut down on March 15 and your ticket expired on March 16 you have six months after they reopen.

But if your ticket expired on March 14 you don't get the extension.

Station Casinos has this on their website:

We are extending the expiration date for the slot machine cash out vouchers for 6 months from their current expiration dates, so long as the voucher expiration date occurs on or before March 31, 2020.

I think that by now every casino has info like this on their websites.

Thanks guys. Definitely sounds like a non-issue. Not that I had any big vouchers anyhow - I always have some around since you can't check screens on certain machines without vouchers in (they freeze out with zero credits) and they eliminate screen shrinkage on All Star IIs that have the streaming message board at the top of the screen (showing what themes are available) when you're going through UX themes on the machine looking for multipliers. I call these vouchers "anti-wigglers".
