Thread: video poker machines not random?

That was my point exactly. He doesn't have a hellcat. How can I be "riled up" or envious of something he doesn't even have?

RS., I take it you're a "math person." Let's go through that sentence above. Rob may "have" a Hellcat, as "have" does not explicitly mean that he owns a Hellcat. He may have borrowed a Hellcat. He may have rented a Hellcat, maybe for a weekend. So let's be explicit when we try to pin Rob down, as he could indeed "have" one without having paid for it.

And let's not forget, Rob could own a Matchbox Lincoln Continental and legitimately say that he "has a Lincoln." I knew a gentleman who owned a storefront shop that said "[His Name] Billiards." Well, there were no billiards tables in the place. So I bought him a miniature billiards table just so he could legitimately say "There's my table" if anyone asked. Rob could own a Matchbox Hellcat, or a model kit of a Hellcat, or a poster of a Hellcat, and legally say that he "has a Hellcat."

If this were true, the Federal Trade Commission would be out of business.

If Rob tells us he has a Hellcat, it had better be the same Hellcat auto that the rest of us are thinking about. And he'd better own it or lease it, and not be in the neighbor's driveway because it belongs to the neighbor.

Alan, I changed "legitimately" to "legally" in my post, just for you. Anybody want to quote odds on Rob actually having a Hellcat pink slip? We might need to check as to whether there is Hellcat superheroine merchandise that includes slips of various colors.

redietz you spend a lot of time being a wordsmith. Let's cut to the chase: does he have one or not?

Who the fuck cares? You all are worse then a bunch of 3rd graders. "Mine is better/more expensive than yours."

You of all people say this? Some of us have wondered just how successful you are as an AP since you've never claimed to have anything, including big wins. At least Rob has claimed to have some assets linked to his winnings... even if those assets are huge tax writeoffs.

Better to stay quiet and let people think you're stupid than to open your mouth and confirm it.

Rob brags about this hellcat like he thinks we care and isn't smart enough to at least rent one so he can snap some pics of himself in it and post it up. Remember when Rob said his purpose on forums is to troll?

Gosh... what would you guys do if he really did have a Hellcat and all the other toys? And the wins? LOL

Frankly I think all of you are more obsessed about it than he is.

As I've often said -- I don't care if Rob really won the money he said he won. The only thing I care about is his advice -- will it help me to be a better casino player? And as I've said before, I think some of his advice is very good and some of his advice I just don't follow.

Whether or not he has the cars and the square footage he claims doesn't matter to me one iota.

However, keep in mind, on several occasions Rob invited me to stay at his home for various periods of time including holiday weekends. And really, if he had something to hide why would he invite me to visit?

He loves your sparkling personality and winning smile.

Does "better/more expensive" also apply to schlongs?

Thanks for posting-as I have been thinking this but ignoring the posts.

His advice sucks. You want professional advice, here it is. You're a losing gambler and will never be a profitable one. Stay out of casinos!

  14. #134
His advice doesn't "suck." His advice about hit and run is spot on. His advice about win goals and loss limits is something everyone should use, just as they use it in that other big casino known as the "options market." But I am sure you have no idea what the options market is, because if you did you would also embrace what he says.

Special plays? I don't use them. Fifth card flipover stuff? I ignore it. But avoiding the casino traps is excellent advice.

That you, jbjb think you can actually have a worthwhile living from casino play makes you the biggest victim of casino folleys. Come to work for me and you can earn $50,000 a year part time sitting on your ass at an idle slot machine making phone calls for one hour a day.

Alan. What percentage is your win goal?
Take off that stupid mask you big baby.

He's an overall losing gambler. He doesn't win anything. Winners have a net profit. He doesn't and he never will playing negative EV games and using win/loss goals.

  17. #137
Stop Win/Stop Loss is actually a great strategy for negative expectation gamblers. It serves to cut down on playing time. The more you play the more you lose. The less you play the less you lose. But it is the opposite for positive expectation gamblers. The more they play the more they make. The less they play the less they make.

  18. #138
I use a rising stop loss, just as I would in the stock or options market.

Jbjb it's time for you to wake up. What advantage would anyone have posting what their profit is in casinos?

For the record: I have never had an annual profit gambling.

So if you're up say 5% you're stop loss becomes 95% of your buy in or something like that? If so when would you quit? Profit wise.

Alan, nobody said you have to give specifics figures. But you have a history of being a liar when it comes to gambling related stuff (18 yos , DI, 5 single line royals within 24 hours and still posted a loss, etc.).
