Thread: Vegas Mayor Goodman on CNN

    The thing about the shutdown is that 80% OF AMERICANS ARE STILL WORKING so are not suffering the economic hardships of the shutdown. At the same time Dems made sure a lot of the recently unemployed get overpayed by unemployment insurance. This has put small business in direct competition with unemployment insurance for labor. As things now stand it will be very hard to get those who make more drawing unemployment than working back into the labor force.
    "More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

    Where did you get this figure that 80% of Americans are still working? Nothing is further from the truth.

    First of all the government statistics are all lagging indicators. The forecasts say 35% will be unemployed leaving 65% working. And what about those who are still working but have reduced income?

    And it's not "all Americans." It's about workers. Kids and non workers like moms who take care of kids aren't counted as unemployed but they depend on the income brought in.

    Work force = 168 million
    26 million out of work
    You do the math.

    If you want to argue about numbers I'm sure we can mutually find all kinds of different numbers published.

    Mr Crimm I'm afraid you overlooked my point:

    "First of all the government statistics are all lagging indicators. The forecasts say 35% will be unemployed leaving 65% working. And what about those who are still working but have reduced income?"

    A month from now the unemployment rate will be greater than your 20%.

    She makes infinitely more sense than the other idiot.

    A fucking laughingstock. All the doctors there trying to ignore the guy.

    Ultraviolet rays burn organic material.

    Say, Crimm, why not try the crematorium, before you die. It could save your life. Hehehe.

    555 = 111 + 4*111 = 15*37, or 37*15, as 153, and 7, or, 371, and 5. As 153 on 371, to 5/7 left, as 6 +/- 1.

    3/21 to 8/22 is 153 + 1 days. 321 = 107*3 + 0; 123 = 3*71 + 0. To 1/0. 822 = (-1 + 7)(37 + 100); 228 = 57[6 - (1 + 1)], ---> 11411. 15[3^2] = 153 + (5 + 1). 154 days is ~ 42.08% of year 2020. 451 = 11*41^1.

    Look, let’s just all agree Trump is NOT a doctor. Yeah, some of the stuff he was throwing out there didn’t make much sense. He did say a couple times he’s not a doctor and he’s only making “suggestions”.

    But in the future, he’s probably better off staying away from coming up with the treatment or cure on stage. Lol.

    As far as the Vegas mayor, I actually liked her interview and the matter-of-fact way she kept saying we need to open things up because people need to work. Like monet said, she might not have come off that well on camera but to those of us who have some common sense, what she said made total sense and I agreed with her.

    I also get why the liberal elite media would not have understood what she was trying to say. She was making too much sense.

    Oh. Now the stupid cunt says he didn't really say it. Lol. Fauci must be really glad they don't call him up, anymore. It must be really hard to sit there, but not be able to say anything that makes some sense.

    Hey look, Trump is just filling time while he is on stage. I find some of the stuff he says entertaining. He might be doing this to drive the press batty. He likes to play games with them. Who knows, maybe he wants to become a doctor after he serves his two terms as president. He’s just trying out for it, instead of spending all that time in Medical school.

    You got to give him a lot of credit. He’s got a lot of ideas, not saying they are all good ones. My favorite one was shining some light into someone’s stomach and lungs to kill the virus. He’s definitely creative in his cures. I don’t think most doctors would have thought of that one before.

    I guess you can look at it as we’re just fortunate he’s our President and not chief medical doctor looking for cures.

    I think if you include the small business owners in that group then yes there may be a third of the workforce not working. But my point is most of the workforce is still working and the spread of coronavirus has slowed quite a bit. In Montana we went from averaging 12 new cases a day down to just 4 new cases a day for the last week. We will be slowly opening back up starting May 4th.

    Total cases so far in Montana is 444. Just 59 hospitalizations and 14 deaths. Only 12 active hospitalizations as of today. There have been 12,127 tested which is 1.3% of the population.

    I think the problem with the shutdown has been treating all regions of the country the same. In Montana we are just not as bad off as New York so shouldn't have had to suffer the major shutdown that New York did. We were told the shutdown was all about flattening the curve to insure enough hospital beds. Just 59 hospitalizations across the state with just 12 active cases means we had no problem with hospitals being full. Didn't even come close.

    According to redietz we are all going to get coronavirus--remember we have the 2nd wave and the 3rd wave and the 4th wave and the 5th....never mind. So the only thing a shutdown can do is keep the curve flat enough to insure adequate hospital space.

    Thanks mcap! That was better than most SNL skits I've watched. I laughed more watching that, then when I go to comedy movies. If she wasn't so good looking, I'd think she might be related to our own bomber thrower, MidWest Player.

    I hope Dan doesn't move all this quality material to sub-forums. Even MWP's bombs are great for entertainment value!

I know, for example, that hotels were sued for Legionnaires disease. But that was not a "pandemic."

    You may have the contacts to properly address these questions, because they are big ones. If you open during a pandemic, are your legal liabilities relieved or greater than before that definition? What happens to your insurance costs?

    Implicit in the mayor's spin is that the city itself doesn't want to be the accountable party, either in total or as a regulator of what's allowed.
    Cause and effect is a big joke in the court system of capitalism in dealing with such issues. Just like environmental poisoning, no one is ever held liable. It really isn't the person catching it who should have a right to sue, but the medical establishment and costs occurred from an extra person becoming sick. Of course the idea of this happening is complete nonsense.

    Hey LMR, you can do better than those two songs. They are just crude, with no substance, kind of like the Democrat party I guess.

    I liked the three songs you posted before these two. The one by Johny Cash and the two by Meatloaf were good. I always liked Meatloaf. Brought back some good memories.

    Btw, thanks for the promotion from Librarian to Preacher. I’m certainly no Preacher, but I do know what I believe. Probably don’t meet many people like that on your side of the fence. Lol. Most are like MWP, who blindly follow with no real understanding of what they are following. If you had a section on your bus called idiots or bomb throwers, he’d probably go there.
