Am I really that old that I'm the only one who remembers when there were usury laws that said it was illegal to charge interest rates on credit cards like those we see today -- 30% or even higher? I remember when the highest legal rate was 25% but am I the only one? Does everyone else -- including our legislators -- now accept 30% or higher rates on plastic when interest rates in the rest of the economy are 5% or less and banks are paying 1% or less for their deposits?
Am I the only one who can't understand why Congress and state legislatures and the public are saying nothing about today's sky-high rates on plastic?
