Thread: Potential power struggle in Conn on when will Casinos open

Who gets the final say on when two Sovereign Nations get to open up their reservation casinos?
The governor wants to take the real cautious approach whereby keeping everything closed as long as he can. Will he end up in a battle at some point that very well could get out of hand? Possibly closing access roads ect, ect.

Contrary to what people think, Indian casinos or Indian reservation land isn’t “sovereign nations”. We won that war back in the 1800s. What they are is land we let them have some control over through some treaties that have been changed many times over the years.

Most of these casinos are run by mainstream US casino companies anyway, so let’s not pretend they are operating as some “sovereign nation”. Now don’t get me wrong, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun have some rich rich lawyers so they have some power. When I lived up in Connecticut, they got a lot of Indian casinos stopped that wanted to open in between them and New York City. The whole Indian casino thing is kind of funny when you look into it
