American lifestyle and eating habits playing into that causing younger and younger people to have obesity and related chronic conditions live diabetes and high blood pressure at an earlier age than ever. Cancer too becomes more prevalent all the time, even in younger people. (Sadly even in children). Asthma is another. Maybe related to worsening air quality, I don't know. But greater numbers of Americans of all ages have some sort of chronic health condition.

One of the things that is a real measuring stick of any society is how they treat and care for their elderly and vulnerable citizens. We just don't turn our back on the elderly and most vulnerable and leave them to die as they did in the barbaric days. There people in the nursing homes that are being hit hard are the men and women from the "greatest" generation". We all owe them a debt of gratitude. We don't pay that debt turning our back on them. So if all of us sacrificing a bit of our freedom, spending more time at home, no sports, no concerts, no casinos or other large gatherings, for a year until our scientist come up with a vaccination, buys these folks of the greatest generation a little more time....it is the least we can do.

Maybe there is a way for some compromise. Opening up some and getting some of the economy going but doing so responsibly and not just saying "fuck it, open up back to normal and screw those vulnerable".
Banning driving is the least we can do to save highway fatalities. Who all supports giving up driving?

Have you missed that the reopening is in phases?

What about the famines that are surely coming because of the world economic slowdown?

No, you're wrong again Kj. The easy solution is for the people that have some underlining condition (regardless of their age) to stay home, and maybe hang out in their basement, that's their choice. It's the simple!

After our country has been in lock down mode for over a month, you'd think people should get this stuff is serious. That means if you have some medical condition or you're old (and want to stick around a little longer) then you need to stay in lock down mode, even if our country "opens up" and gives people freedom.

Here's something I can tell you don't understand Kj, and it's why I continue to call you a LIBERAL. "WITH FREEDOM, COMES RESPONSIBILITY". It's the part of the freedom equation most liberals fail to understand.

KJ, I know you've got me on ignore so you won't be able to understand this important lesson. But maybe someone else will that is still struggling with understanding the concept of freedom.

Btw, I know it's hard for some to understand what freedom means since they've lived in a nanny state for so long. They feel like"lambs" and don't know what to do. Here's what to do if you're scared. Stay in lock down mode and don't go outside.
Yes KJ, the compromise is the "economy" is not going to instantly start up all at once. It will be done in phases. Many businesses will not come back. Not sure who is turning their back on the elderly and leaving them to die. I'm sure their are always some that do.

Correct Bob, the people in the high risk groups should shelter in place if that's what they choose. The problem most have with this is choice went out the window. Freedom left town. That's when corruption starts by some who mandate what is essential and non-essential business.

It will be very interesting to see the outcomes with all these lawsuits piling up against Governors and stay at home orders.

What are people thinking? Trying to enjoy some time in an environment of sunshine and humidity. Two of the most hostile environments for this virus.

These Cali-cucks won't fight back, though.

Luckily in Florida we have an incredible Governor and County Commissioners who are reopening most of the state by Monday. Some beaches opened yesterday and more tomorrow. Naturally I made my way to one yesterday to enjoy my American Freedom. Everyone followed the rules and parking lot filled up quickly. People want to get out.

Restaurants and retail stores are reopening Monday at 25% capacity inside and more outside with 6 feet between tables. The only areas not included are the 3 counties near Miami and Ft Lauderdale due to high infection rates and for being liberal assholes.

In some parts of the country sanity is returning, but the economic damage has already been done.

No, idiot. I'm comparing deaths to deaths. 40K people a year are killed on our highways. We can save those lives by banning driving. 40K lives a year. If you are so concerned about saving lives as you pretend you are over coronavirus then you would want to save lives by banning driving.

But my point is you libtards are perfectly content to allow deaths on the highways so you can continue to drive but want everyone to give up their freedom to save lives from coronavirus. It's phony.

A Dallas salon owner will spend a week in jail after she was found in contempt of court Tuesday for violating an order to close her salon during the coronavirus pandemic.

    She refused to apologize,
“Feeding my kids is not selfish,” she told Moyé. “If you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision, but I am not going to shut the salon.”

This is the same dumb version of an argument I've heard many times. I have used it for arguments about conservatives and weed. Carter said back way when, that punishment should not be more severe than negative effects of the crime. To this day, it has been liberal states that allow such a basic freedom. You can look at people who die of strokes then make this argument about pizza. "libtards" says the genius.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If government did nothing and let this thing go full bore to save our economy and I worked in medicine - you'd see me give the ol finger to society for a year and chill out. There is so much more than simple death rates, and we'll never know how bad it'd been if we'd followed Trump and his assinine 'its a hoax' bullshit. It is going to get worse though. His son (well, Kushner), chief contender for the anti-christ is getting his grubby hands into that big pot of money. Go read about how evil that guy is and how he continually fucked over poor people with hism rental practices. Dude is straight up evil.

Redietz, how long has the alt-left been improvising the plan to destroy the economy of the United States? And once you are successful what will be your next move, revocation of the Constitution of the United States?

At least I'm not a genius like you. Didn't bother to refute one thing I said.. Feeble-minded man, shoo.

Sorry about the Kushner thing. Honestly it didn't belong in this thread. I just read this whistleblower stuff going on. So funny how people worship Trump. Look at his son-in-law. Maybe Hunter Biden got a free job, but thats normal old politics bullshit. Kushner though, is a different class of scumbag, but this isn't the thread for that. lol wanting him in charge of stuff. I could understand a populace being so bamboozled if it was China or Russia, neither who have a functioning press. We however do have one, and people still aren't up in arms about fucktard Kushner being in the middle of this.

Trump should have been on top of testing from the very beginning. Having tests verifying each other tests so we could determine which ones we can even begin to trust. This is real simple stuff to me. This is also beyond Trump's comprehension.

Instead lets remove so much regulation the tests can be effectively meaningless. Ok. I get that. Thats not a bad move, but then obviously please put people in charge of finding the bs tests.

When you're only testing people with symptoms, it is pretty easy to default to yes and no one even notices. Then they start testing everyone and the numbers are all fucked up. No one knows what is going on. Fail fail fail. The rest of the West isn't so fucking stupid.
